I found this video trying to see if there was a better way to screw tailpiece screws than what I was doing with a butter knife and then you go and pull out a butter knife. Amazing. Funniest thing I've seen all day. At least it's confirmation.
Great idea. I need to adjust the Tune-O-Matic bridge height on a recently bought Les Paul clone bridge which has SCREWS rather then the Thumb Wheels for adjusting the height. (Similar to the bridge on your SG model). I am nervous about marring the screws. Are you using a screwdriver for the height adjustment or some other tool? Thanks and well done on the video. @@theroomofrock6456 My LP clone doesn't have the thumb wheels unfortuately and has screws instead, like you see on many Epiphone guitars. I don't believe I can turn the bridge height adjustment screws with my fingers like one might be able to do with say the stop tail piece screws. The bridge screws seem much tighter..Any ideas what I could use besides a screwdriver as to avoid marring up the chrome screws? Thanks again. Phil
@@uptownphotography Hi Phil, if you slacken the strings so the bridge isn't under tension you should be able to alter the bridge height with a well fitting screw driver without marking anything. I have in the past put a bit of tape on the head of a screw driver to help prevent marking and make it a really snug fit in the slot of the bridge. Good luck
@@theroomofrock6456 Good idea with the tape. I'll give that a try. I appreciated you input and replies. I'll keep you posted. The guitar, for a clone, is surprisingly nice and gets many really good reviews on youtube. (It's a Gold Top LP model w/P90s). Really my only complaint is they set it up from the dealer a little too high with the strings. Phil
Do you have any tips for carrying out repairs or adjustments on your guitars?
Nice video. Thanks.

Really helpful and informative video!
Thank you, I am glad it proved helpful.

When adjusting the height I slackened the strings and use my fingers only on the thumb wheels, so as to not mark anything
