    literally the best tutorial on threading in FreeCad, I must have watched a dozen video's on this subject and they were all making mistakes, your tutorial is the only one that actually produced usable threads that looked like they should , Pleas do more Freecad tutorials

    I do appreciate CreativeJE's effort to make a tutorial for a producable fastener--many FreeCAD tutorials produce results that could not be "meshed" into real products. I especially like he zooms in the FreeCAD buttons while performing actions. However, the 39' 12" tutorial could be reduced to less than 5' if he could organize the session better. Good job CreativeJE and do make your tutorials concise in the future. Best whishes to you!!!

      It could have been done in 5 minutes but hardly anyone would have understood what are the exact things which we need to do as a beginner. Thanks for the comment 😌

    Awesome video, i had many problems using this method, and now i understand the solution. but in 0.21 freecad there is subtractive helix tool in part design and its more simple

    for the life of me I kept getting this error 19:52:01 PartDesign::SubtractivePipe: Link(s) to object(s) 'Helix' go out of the allowed scope 'SubtractivePipe'. Instead, the linked object(s) reside within 'N/A'.
    I redid the whole thing twice and the second time I did exactly every step as you said, but kept getting this error, any help will be appreciated!

      aight so this is late but , you know when he offset the triangle by 0.1mm for one axis, yeah you have to do that for the other axis as well

    In around 26min where you are trying to constrain the thread, we can also use the external geometry and use Constrain Coincident (both are in sketcher) and that take cares the rest without formulas linking. But bravo for your tutorial :)

    13:58 you can edit the attachment offset to move a sketch that is attached to a plane or anything else. The movement is then relative to the attachment

    Interesting, once the design is done, where can we order it to get a physical one ?

    • @CreativeJE

      You can find some 3D printing services near you

    You forgot to make the nut that goes on the bolt... but this was helpful in making bolts..

    this tutorial doesn't work for version 0.20.2 (anymore?) Tried multiple times but object got disformed totally. Probably better to just use the 'Substractive helix' tool for this

  • @adrianinsaval
    @adrianinsaval 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    in FreeCAD 0.19 and above there is a helix extrusion tool on Part Design, no need to create an helix in Part

    Great tuturial, but PLEASE stope moving the mouse curser around all ver the screen all the time....

    Maybe a bit less caffeine on the mouse movements... that would help a lot. Just keep (click) to the point and perhaps stop zipping the mouse around everywhere.

    You aren't making a bolt, you are just adding the bolt to the workspace. I would like to learn how to make a bolt. I want a M8 and M10 bolt with larger diameter flange than the standardized ones that come with the fasteners macro. How do I customize dimensions on a bolt, not just pick a thread pitch?

    • @CreativeJE
      @CreativeJE  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can just change the parameters and it would be updated.

    I'm Trying for constructive criticism. Please write a script, and try to stay more directly on subject. English is not your first language so all of the extra talking is confusing to someone who isn't used to your accent. I'm trying to follow along and learn this and yes you did help me but you have a fairly heavy accent to at least my ears. if you used less words more directly on subject i might possibly have an easier time following along. I'm old and 3d design doesn't come natural to me. following along was easy once I deciphered what you said. the accent isn't your "fault" but it is a bit of a barrier for people who aren't used to hearing it and TH-cam automated subtitle generator is horrible with accents. with that said thank you for getting me through this problem i was having keep up the good work
