The George and Laura Marler Family in Yellowstone National Park

George Marler worked as a ranger naturalist at Old Faithful in Yellowstone from 1931-1972. He became the mid 20th century geyser expert in the park. He and Laura Sherburne married in 1946. Shortly after they had two daughters Barbara and Lela. The family spent summers in the park, and a winter and a half at Old Faithful from 1951-1953. In 1967 the family flew to Washington DC where George was presented with a distinguished service award from the Department of the Interior.
