This is fab Michelle! Love your version and the fact you show the mistakes you make as well is great, shows it’s not just me! I hope to start this one next week so will keep you posted on how I get on 🙋🏼♀️❤️xx
Oooh yes Helen you must let me know how you get on!! I love seeing other people’s versions of patterns I have also made as each one is so different and unique 😊💕 thank you so much for watching and commenting 🥰 xx
Thank you! I’m so pleased you enjoyed seeing everything including my mistakes 😊 I normally have to unpick something along the way and I’m learning all the time xx
Excellent tutorials and the pinafore looks amazing 😉 as for unpicking . I’m think I am the fastest un picker in Weston super mare. If I don’t have to unpick I think I haven’t done it right 😝
Such a good Sew-along! I really enjoyed it. It looks a lovely straightforward sew...I should really make one soon. It's great to hear about the size you went for as I'll definitely size down also. I love the fabric you used, it's so fun and it's a lovely colour. Aww your cats are gorgeous. I used to have a black cat and she used to do the same as what Misty is doing, headbutting for fuss all the time. Thanks for this ☺️👍 xx
Yeah I’m so glad I sized down as it just gives a slightly more closer fit. The fabric makes me smile so much 😁 awww yeah Misty is a little cutie pie she also dribbles quite a bit so I usually get some slobber too 🤣
Thanks for sharing your sewalong Michelle, I am new to sewing so love watching videos like yours to learn hints and tips. You definitely included the best twirling clip with your beautiful cat xx
Super video Michelle. Cerys fancies a pinafore from the neeedlecord we got recently and I’d forgotten about this one. Thank you.... Misty is the perfect twirling accessory 💕
It is a lovely pinafore and so easy to wear 😊 I was quite tempted by your needle cord too as I am loving needle cord at the moment 💕 i had to put the film with Misty in as I love seeing pets in vlogs 🤣 xx
I really enjoyed your sew -a - long. I bought this book in main because of the Olive pinafore so now am inspired to make it when I finish everything else I have planned😆Thank you 🙏
I enjoy watching your videos, it’s apparent you love sewing and I laughed with you when you sewed the wrong side of your garment together, I’ve done that several times over the years of my sewing, lol. Thank you you for sharing your beautiful makes🎃
Thank you! 😁 yeah I got a bit confused when reading the instructions on my first version but it’s great now I know it as I can then use it in other patterns now too 👍 xx
Ahhh thank you so much!! I’m so glad you enjoy my videos that lovely to know 😊 I am really happy with the pinafore I just need more long sleeve tops to go with it for the cold weather x
Another enjoyable video and sew along Michelle! That fabric is adorable and sewed up so nice in the Olive. You had my mouth watering with the brownies. 😁
As always Michelle, great video, clearly detailed with hiccups as well. You make it such an easy watch each month. Love the material, I’m sure I bought the same needlecord design but in pink to make something for a friend for Christmas, as she is made on cats also. Finished article looks great and am sure you will get a lot of wear out of it.
Ahhh thank you! It is such a fun fabric and I think my friends will certainly know this is very ‘me’ with all the cats 🤣 thank you so much for watching and commenting it’s lovely to have your support xx
Really enjoyed your sewalong, I think I may have to treat myself to the book. As a novice sewer I love picking up tips of how to construct, it does make more sense to me when I see rather than read instructions. End result looks great on you.
Thank you! Yes the book is really good and Tilly is so good with her instructions! I think hers are one of the best pattern companies for holding your hand throughout 😊 I’m the same I love learning through watching and if I can help in anyway by showing some steps visually in my sew alongs then I am one very happy bunny xx
Yet another great tutorial, think I'll give this one a try. When the world is back to 'normal' you should consider teaching some sewing classes, you're a natural. x
Ahh thank you so much! That’s a lovely compliment that you think I may be good at teaching 🥰 I don’t think I have the confidence quite yet but it would be wonderful to do one day xx
Ahhh thank you!! So glad you enjoyed 🥰 yeah I tend to do a practice ‘twirl’ to see how the details show up and as Misty was being so cute I just had to have that in there 😻
A great sewalong as usual Michelle, find myself looking forward to them every month so thank you for sharing. A great pinafore in lovely fabric, you always inspire me to want to sew more 😍
Ahhh that’s so lovely to know you look forward to them 🥰 I find watching sewing vlogs inspirational too so I’m so glad it makes you want to sew more xx
Brilliant! Yes you should give it a go 😊 it’s a lovely dress for layering up with long sleeves tops and tights or leggings and also to wear on its own in the spring/summer xx
Yea you should! It’s a lovely easy to wear dress and I love how it can be excellent for layers to ensure I am kept warm in the winter and then I can wear it on its own in the warmer weather 👍 thank you so much for watching xx
Excellent video with clear instructions. Nice to see I’m not the only one who always manages to have to unpick something. Your overlooking looks super neat! May I ask which settings you used for the needle cord fabric?

I have a silly question, but when sewing in the facing, wouldn't it be easier to sew the armholes together first, and then sew in the neckline using the burrito type method like you just did the armholes? I'm thinking this because it's only one thing to sew in and not two (although it would be in 2 parts I suppose), but the neck isn't a closed circle and is much straighter to pin and sew. So it wouldn't get as many bumps and pushed together bits. You would also have the long parts sewn together when you do the armholes as well so you only have the section around the neck to do. Does what I'm saying make sense, or am I confusing you? I know writing it as instructions would probably be a bit of a nightmare though to get people to understand it. I just thought that once you know how to do it the way you did, the way I'm thinking might make it sit smoother.
