I think he’s essentially saying with this, that while he too, has this dark side that wishes to be unleashed, he is still the one who has the ultimate control over his own demons. This is a targeted attack, well thought out, logical, and completely rational if you ask me. This is not a quote in the moment”, attack because emotions got too high and he snapped. Didn't see that. That's Great! But I hope TH-cam goes a step further and sues Kujo for malicious use of it's Copywrite Strike Function. A function intended to PROTECT Original Artists & their Original Works. If a loophole exists that allows Parasites to come in and use the Strike - with no legal basis - against an Artist, then YT needs to act to close that. And, I'd suggest, to go after the perpetrator, not only bring home the consequences of their actions, but also as a Detterant against other such 'Players'.
Thanks for a measured and focused reaction. I really enjoyed that. The language Ren is using here can be viewed from a number of different perspectives. I take your point about the likelihood that this video will polarise Ren's audience, and I have seen discussion about it online already. Ren himself has said that the reason he used the word 'slut' was that this is a diss rap and he was choosing language deliberately designed to maximise its impact on Kujo. As far as the rest of the language is concerned its also worth remembering that he is from the UK where the C word is common in everyday working class speech. (I won't use it here out of respect to you, but I have no problem with it. Here in the UK it is an intensifier. It can be used negatively, but it can be used in a friendly way as well.) Ren is being true to his own native forms of expression, which is what he seems to be really all about. To my English ears at least, it adds authenticity.
As an American woman, it really depends on context for me. I'm always fine with it being directed at a man, which is what Ren does here It's so weird to me that we Americans get so bent out of shape over language when our movies and television is so violent. We need another Lenny Bruce

Thats INSANE but im so happy for him. He also spoke with the head of youtube music and got the unlawful copyright strike removed from his channel and the sick boi video back up until any legal issues are resolved. Nicely said. With Ren it's definitely a symbiotic relationship, not so much 'Artist' & 'Fans'. His emotions are always there on his sleeve in whatever he does. It's cathartic for both him and many of the people of all ages who have come to cherish his rare talent and relate to the fact he can often say in an artistic way what maybe you and I can't. He was a lot nicer to them than I would have been, for sure. That negativity has now become another beautiful art piece in the same way he exorcised his demons in other songs by making something positive out of something negative. That takes a lot of inner strength. Amazes this old boi !

If Ren said those same things to Kujo's gf (who threatened to break Ren's kneecaps) I would have been really disappointed in him, but the voice talking is the same one described as Lucifer and the Anti-Christ in HI REN, so for me it's the same as the things the demon in the movie The Exorcist says. They're shocking and vile, but I'm not going to condemn Linda Blair for saying them or Peter Blatty for writing them. It's the Devil (in all of us) speaking, and the Devil says some shit. Ive suffered through depression and anxiety amongst other things for most of my adult life and listening to him since ive found his music has done alot for me even this one hes let out a side that many of us feel and don't say or bottle up inside what he did in this is the perfect representation of what alot of anxiety and depression feels like sometimes on a daily basis
You always see so much. I love your reactions. This video is amazing for multiple reasons. I am in love with his use of the choir. A choir because the stolen sample was from a Bulgarian choir. But look at them. They're standing on square bases so they look like a Pillars of Justice sculpture. They're also a Greek chorus singing out commentary. And what they are singing is, "Sto-len sam-ple" And, oh, there's more. I think every time I've watched it, I've picked up something more. Kujo & GF were just so-o-o outclassed here.
I don’t think I will ever quite understand how it all went from Kujo selling a beat with a stolen sample and the owners getting in touch for the publishing money they’re owed to then somehow escalating into Kujo and his attorney using a mistake made by others, not Ren himself, to demand money from Ren as if he was the thief. It’s like there’s a huge gap and I suspect it’s between Kujo’s ears 👀 But at least we got this righteous rage! Ren showed us exactly what happens when you push the nicest guy in the industry too far… he needed to let the anger out somehow and boy did he do just that 🔥 Ren just made history and we all went crazy! Our sick boi was wronged and the hype to see him release his anger was insane. Pretty sure there were like twice the amount of people in chat for the premiere than we’ve seen before and so many reactors heard his call for support ❤️ It’s interesting that the community is so passionate because of how genuinely nice Ren is, yet we all LOVE seeing this side of him 😂 But as much as we love it and would love a part 2, for Ren’s sake I hope this is the end of it. He’s been through enough over this and just wants to move on 🖤

over 100 and enjoyed everyone. what i have come to appreciate so so much is rens genius at writing. as any actor will say "it starts with the words on the page.. and ren is on shakespeare,s level. i don' think ren has to struggle, they just flow out as i am sure they did with shakespeare, and combine that talent with rens genius at music, a producing at visually displaying his genius. so so rare. ifkujo is dumb enough to sue ren, i think in england if you lose the case you pay the winners lawyers costs. we will see if kujo and his lawyers are that stupid.. but we do want part 2

Some of the language is fairly routine for Ren and (I've heard in comments) the UK. So, many fans are already used to it. Aiming aggression at a female was touchy for some and sparked conversations. Ren has been pretty blunt about taking pleasure in stirring the pot, even when some fans will walk away. I've listened to more reactions to this one probably more than any other of his songs except Hi Ren, just because the reactions have been so entertaining. He has IG stories and a Twitch stream posted since the release saying he would still like a reconciliation, but has other things he wants to think about and do.

I’ve watched all reactions I can except a handful or two….getting there 😂 I think his use of language is shocking to those who don’t use it in their vocabulary much or at all, which could be a lot of people, but I’ve noticed that it’s typical in the UK for it to be used more. Definitely different curse words in Britain. Our c-word is THE WORST thing you can say. There it's closer to 'bitch' here. The funniest was when I was young the word 'fanny' in Britain was shockingly close to the c-word for us today (and meant the same body part there, while here it was what children called your behind. People would be shocked and revolted if you used the word fanny then (not sure about today, although you still rarely hear it spoken there.) Different cultures, different obscenities.

I don't know how many reactions I've watched, a lot. Hopefully Ren's fans will be able to see, and hear, this for what it is, an outlet for emotions that have been pushed to the limit. I hope it provided him with the release he obviously needed, and he will be able to recenter himself. He is an amazing artist and seems to be an ethical and thoughtful person, hopefully this is just a bump in the road for him.
yo, that was really good point that Ren already has enough anxiety. I would like to further caution that the fans have a way to increase and escalate the situation. All it takes is a misaligned fan to take the situation into a place where laws are broken, and people are actually damaged. Then even more people get hurt and affected. This is likely to affect the image that Ren wants to normally portray
So, the first time I saw the video, I had no idea what it was about so yes at first I thought it was a bit extreme and a little scary for Ren- as we only ever saw his “High-Road Ren” side prevail. But after I watched his video explaining the situation with Kujo, dude, watching that video again with that background knowledge- man oh man that “extremeness” was absolutely satiating. It was justified and it was cathartic. It was righteous rage Ren leading this time and I was all there for it.

idk - if there's a way of searching how many videos you've watched with a title that involves keywords, I could tell you how many reactions I've watched but other than that all I can say is that I've been watching reactions since about 20min after the premiere of the video, lol, when the first channels who Ren had sent the video to for early access, released the reactions they'd already shot. And I'm on Disability, so while no, I haven't watched reactions every waking hour of all these days, I have an awful lot of time on my hands in which I'm available to look for more reactions. "Western to vampire movie" about covers the vibe! I'm blown away by how well Ren pushed the feeling of imminent violence in this video, without ever actually Going There (the lyric "that's how little thief lose teeth, you meal to me" is the only lyric that could come close to being interpreted as a physical threat). Including with the gf... I was terrified I was going to be upset with Ren when he dragged the gf out (like, how he was going to insult her in this or whatever), but instead he really just dragged them out in effigy to yell at them for being jerks (because Kujo kept refusing to engage with him face to face, is how I read the concept) and I think it's beyond perfect. (edit: regarding perfection - I guess I could have done without him calling the gf "slut." idk, maybe it's got its own "casual" use in the uk like "cunt" does? But to my Canadian ears & brain, it's intrinsically tied to its meaning, and it's not applicable unless you want to get ugly in a direction that Ren has clearly avoided going in here). I especially love where Ren stands between the chairs with his hands on his hips rapping in "reasonable Ren voice," sort of condescendingly lecturing them for a few lines. That rhyming scheme (or whatever, I'm not rap-knowledgeable) is so satisfying.

Didn't see that. That's Great! But I hope TH-cam goes a step further and sues Kujo for malicious use of it's Copywrite Strike Function. A function intended to PROTECT Original Artists & their Original Works. If a loophole exists that allows Parasites to come in and use the Strike - with no legal basis - against an Artist, then YT needs to act to close that. And, I'd suggest, to go after the perpetrator, not only bring home the consequences of their actions, but also as a Detterant against other such 'Players'.
Thanks for a measured and focused reaction. I really enjoyed that. The language Ren is using here can be viewed from a number of different perspectives. I take your point about the likelihood that this video will polarise Ren's audience, and I have seen discussion about it online already. Ren himself has said that the reason he used the word 'slut' was that this is a diss rap and he was choosing language deliberately designed to maximise its impact on Kujo. As far as the rest of the language is concerned its also worth remembering that he is from the UK where the C word is common in everyday working class speech. (I won't use it here out of respect to you, but I have no problem with it. Here in the UK it is an intensifier. It can be used negatively, but it can be used in a friendly way as well.) Ren is being true to his own native forms of expression, which is what he seems to be really all about. To my English ears at least, it adds authenticity.
As an American woman, it really depends on context for me. I'm always fine with it being directed at a man, which is what Ren does here

And i love it 😂 as ren says in his song Troubles, "elastic bands only stretch so far and then snap". 😂 kujo beat down has reached over 1 million views in less than a week. Thats INSANE but im so happy for him. He also spoke with the head of youtube music and got the unlawful copyright strike removed from his channel and the sick boi video back up until any legal issues are resolved. Nicely said. With Ren it's definitely a symbiotic relationship, not so much 'Artist' & 'Fans'. His emotions are always there on his sleeve in whatever he does. It's cathartic for both him and many of the people of all ages who have come to cherish his rare talent and relate to the fact he can often say in an artistic way what maybe you and I can't.
He was a lot nicer to them than I would have been, for sure. That negativity has now become another beautiful art piece in the same way he exorcised his demons in other songs by making something positive out of something negative. That takes a lot of inner strength. Amazes this old boi !

If Ren said those same things to Kujo's gf (who threatened to break Ren's kneecaps) I would have been really disappointed in him, but the voice talking is the same one described as Lucifer and the Anti-Christ in HI REN, so for me it's the same as the things the demon in the movie The Exorcist says. They're shocking and vile, but I'm not going to condemn Linda Blair for saying them or Peter Blatty for writing them. It's the Devil (in all of us) speaking, and the Devil says some shit. This video is amazing for multiple reasons. I am in love with his use of the choir. A choir because the stolen sample was from a Bulgarian choir. But look at them. They're standing on square bases so they look like a Pillars of Justice sculpture. They're also a Greek chorus singing out commentary. And what they are singing is, "Sto-len sam-ple" And, oh, there's more. I think every time I've watched it, I've picked up something more. Kujo & GF were just so-o-o outclassed here.

I don’t think I will ever quite understand how it all went from Kujo selling a beat with a stolen sample and the owners getting in touch for the publishing money they’re owed to then somehow escalating into Kujo and his attorney using a mistake made by others, not Ren himself, to demand money from Ren as if he was the thief. It’s like there’s a huge gap and I suspect it’s between Kujo’s ears 👀
But at least we got this righteous rage! Ren showed us exactly what happens when you push the nicest guy in the industry too far… he needed to let the anger out somehow and boy did he do just that 🔥

over 100 and enjoyed everyone. what i have come to appreciate so so much is rens genius at writing. as any actor will say "it starts with the words on the page.. and ren is on shakespeare,s level. i don' think ren has to struggle, they just flow out as i am sure they did with shakespeare, and combine that talent with rens genius at music, a producing at visually displaying his genius. so so rare. ifkujo is dumb enough to sue ren, i think in england if you lose the case you pay the winners lawyers costs. we will see if kujo and his lawyers are that stupid.. but we do want part 2

“Channeling rage in creative ways” is an underrated statement. If more people learned how to do this, the world would be a better place.
Some of the language is fairly routine for Ren and (I've heard in comments) the UK. So, many fans are already used to it. Aiming aggression at a female was touchy for some and sparked conversations. Ren has been pretty blunt about taking pleasure in stirring the pot, even when some fans will walk away. I've listened to more reactions to this one probably more than any other of his songs except Hi Ren, just because the reactions have been so entertaining. He has IG stories and a Twitch stream posted since the release saying he would still like a reconciliation, but has other things he wants to think about and do.
The language is totally routine in Britain 🤷🏻♀️

Definitely different curse words in Britain. Our c-word is THE WORST thing you can say. There it's closer to 'bitch' here. The funniest was when I was young the word 'fanny' in Britain was shockingly close to the c-word for us today (and meant the same body part there, while here it was what children called your behind. People would be shocked and revolted if you used the word fanny then (not sure about today, although you still rarely hear it spoken there.) Different cultures, different obscenities.
Well, that left me fully satisfied (after about 30 prior Ren-Kujo reactions). Now I can shift focus to learning from your earlier Ren-videos reactions... I appreciate how knowledgeable and thorough you are.

I don't know how many reactions I've watched, a lot. Hopefully Ren's fans will be able to see, and hear, this for what it is, an outlet for emotions that have been pushed to the limit. I hope it provided him with the release he obviously needed, and he will be able to recenter himself. He is an amazing artist and seems to be an ethical and thoughtful person, hopefully this is just a bump in the road for him.

yo, that was really good point that Ren already has enough anxiety. I would like to further caution that the fans have a way to increase and escalate the situation. All it takes is a misaligned fan to take the situation into a place where laws are broken, and people are actually damaged. Then even more people get hurt and affected. This is likely to affect the image that Ren wants to normally portray

So, the first time I saw the video, I had no idea what it was about so yes at first I thought it was a bit extreme and a little scary for Ren- as we only ever saw his “High-Road Ren” side prevail. But after I watched his video explaining the situation with Kujo, dude, watching that video again with that background knowledge- man oh man that “extremeness” was absolutely satiating. It was justified and it was cathartic. It was righteous rage Ren leading this time and I was all there for it.

idk - if there's a way of searching how many videos you've watched with a title that involves keywords, I could tell you how many reactions I've watched but other than that all I can say is that I've been watching reactions since about 20min after the premiere of the video, lol, when the first channels who Ren had sent the video to for early access, released the reactions they'd already shot.
And I'm on Disability, so while no, I haven't watched reactions every waking hour of all these days, I have an awful lot of time on my hands in which I'm available to look for more reactions.

I'm blown away by how well Ren pushed the feeling of imminent violence in this video, without ever actually Going There (the lyric "that's how little thief lose teeth, you meal to me" is the only lyric that could come close to being interpreted as a physical threat). Including with the gf... I was terrified I was going to be upset with Ren when he dragged the gf out (like, how he was going to insult her in this or whatever), but instead he really just dragged them out in effigy to yell at them for being jerks (because Kujo kept refusing to engage with him face to face, is how I read the concept) and I think it's beyond perfect.
(edit: regarding perfection - I guess I could have done without him calling the gf "slut." idk, maybe it's got its own "casual" use in the uk like "cunt" does? But to my Canadian ears & brain, it's intrinsically tied to its meaning, and it's not applicable unless you want to get ugly in a direction that Ren has clearly avoided going in here).
I especially love where Ren stands between the chairs with his hands on his hips rapping in "reasonable Ren voice," sort of condescendingly lecturing them for a few lines. That rhyming scheme (or whatever, I'm not rap-knowledgeable) is so satisfying.
