If the cat was panting it’d be an emergency, but my cats purr with their mouth open all the time and they’re in good health, there’s probably nothing wrong
Coming from a veterinarian, when a is panting like this can be a method of cooling down. Please do not share any misinformation as it can lead to panic and result in people spending money that doesn't need to be spent and in turn can cause a backup in our clinics. This is what is called fear mongering. Don't pass your fears on to other people. Asthma can also be the cause of this. I would hope that people would be responsible enough to bring their furry friend in at least once a year.
This might seem normal but he/she is breathing at a fast rate it’s either happiness or your cat is going through pain which is not that bad of pain maybe just breathing problems take your cat to the vet to go check it out
I need some advice a ferrel cat just like this turned up in my garden after my crow, it was skin and bones so I been feeding her, her breathing seems to start her belly going up n down real fast is she ok? I feel truly honoured she chose me, so I must take care of her, she don't like it indoors so she sleeps on a cushion on a bench out back, at night she vanishes then she's back for breakfast...any advice
My kitten started doing this about a week ago but its only sometimes most of the time he acts normal and playful, should I worry? He also doesnt seem as agitated as the kitty in the video.
Coming from a veterinarian, if your babies breathing became laboured suddenly it wouldn't hurt to take your furry friend into a clinic to get him checked out. It could be a sign of some sort of respiratory issue. Don't panic, we see this all the time. I hope that you're able to get your boy in to see his doctor. ❤️
She has asthma and it is being managed. I think she was allergic to that cat tree or something in the apartment that exacerbated it. We have since moved. If it happens again I would take a video and send to your vet.
The comments need to shut up and stop telling you to take you to emergency room. The cat has asthma.
As a veterinarian, I couldn't agree more
This will be famous in the next few years
still not famous

Yea
Nope
Nope
This is a medical emergency and I hope that the cat got the medical attention that he/she needed.
Care to elaborate, I assume you’re an expert. No way you would just be commenting this without any sort of background knowledge… right?

I love how the camera gets blurry and shakes right before the video loops back to the begining 😂
