      Yes, it may be so. The American Century? It’s looking a heck of a lot shorter than that. Truly Reagan was the beginning of the end so in a way this video in 1980 marks the beginning of the end. The Reagan administration opened the flood gates to unbridled greed. The military budget is beyond sick and trickle down economics was just a sham. Every president since Reagan has followed in those footsteps.

    I live on Long Island. Interesting how only a small portion of the video covered the island. Crazy to think how nearly all industry in the video has moved over seas. The task of the man painting lines on the teacup likely transitioned to China by the late 80's. Appliances made in the USA are a thing of the past. Wondering what's left?!

    cant you post these films without the time signal or watermark? they are really annoying

    • @PeriscopeFilm
      @PeriscopeFilm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's the issue: Tens of thousands of films similar to this one have been lost forever -- destroyed -- and many others are at risk. Our company preserves these precious bits of history one film at a time. How do we afford to do that? By selling them as stock footage to documentary filmmakers and broadcasters. If we did not have a counter, we could not afford to post films like these online, and no films would be preserved. It's that simple. So we ask you to bear with the watermark and timecodes.
      In the past we tried many different systems including placing our timer at the bottom corner of our videos. What happened? Unscrupulous TH-cam users downloaded our vids, blew them up so the timer was not visible, and re-posted them as their own content! We had to use content control to have the videos removed and shut down these channels. It's hard enough work preserving these films and posting them, without having to spend precious time dealing with policing thievery -- and not what we devoted ourselves to do.
      Love our channel and want to support what we do? You can help us save and post more orphaned films! Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/PeriscopeFilm Even a really tiny contribution can make a difference.

      Global warming would probably be the best thing to ever happen to New York STATE. The city itself? Not so much, but if southern and coastal cities became too hot or dangerous to live, the Great Lakes would be the biggest beneficiary and New York has two of them.

    I remember this add. At the time of this add Up state New York. Was starting to die. People were leaving the up state in the late 70's and early 80's . Because of very high taxes and industry leaving that state. All of this mystery was brought on by Jimmy Carter and the corrupt demarcates. I was witness to all of it in up state New York in the 70's . My family got the hell out of Up state New York in 79. We settled in the south and so glad we did. The little town in up state New York that I was born and raised in. Is now a complete shit hole. There is nothing there now. No jobs , no industry , property value in this area is crap. crime and drugs being sold on the streets . How any one there is able to serve up there now is beyond me. Yeah we love New York . Now look at the entire state one complete shit hole!!! The only one's now loving New York are corrupt leftist demarcates and criminals.
