I love Karangasem, far from traffic jam such as Denpasar, Canggu, Seminyak etc. I have a house at pantai Jasri area( about 15 minutes from Candidasa, on the way to Amlapura), near Virgin Beach

I enjoy my time a lot when I stay in Candidassa.
I particularly love Virgin Beach about 10min scooter ride away. Its by far the nicest beach in Bali

I was in Candidasa in August 2022 - loved it!!
Stayed at the Ramayana Candidasa. We went out snorkelling and boating up to White Beach. Andre's for great local spa treatments or hotel good too. It's quieter but still plenty to do or nothing to do - up to you . . . loved just walking and discovering it all . . . definitely would go back and explore further north too 🌼

I remember the noisiest thing bring the traffic going from east to west and back.
Amazing that places like the Kelapa Mas homestay is still around since 1990. I have cycled around all of Bali and the hills behind the coast are the most beautiful.
Places like Manggis, Sedimen, Iseh, Putung, Tittagangga, Seraya and Amed.

Candidasa is lovely but I miss the excitement of discovering Thailand with you guys as if I was also discovering something new with both of you at the same time - Bali feels like been there done that even though it’s a new part of the island not seen before , I appreciate how strong you both are to keep positive and to make it work again in Bali and for that I really respect you both
I stay many years in Kelapa Mas. With beautiful garden ,swimmingpool and good bungalows on the seacoast. Would be nice if you make video there.
Glad you visited that area, there are some beautiful resorts and a lot more people are staying there, think I would definitely stay there for a couple of days to enjoy somewhere different
Candi Dasa is one of my most favourite places in the world. So many amazing places to stay and fabulous places to eat. If you are looking for somewhere a little quieter (no influencers!) this is absolutely No 1. Has enough touristy shops and cafes and restaurants without the crazy traffic or crowds. Heavenly.

Thank you for the update on Candi Dasa. It doesn’t really look much different since I stayed there in the late 1990’s. Hopefully the businesses there can get more customers in the future.
We were in Candidasa last May and coming back again this May. We are staying in a private villa on the road to the right where the sign for the new cliff top development is being built. We are also staying at Hotel Genggong, one of the nicest places we have stayed in Bali :) One of the fishermen (Alec) took us out snorkelling to Blue Lagoon and another one (Wayan) cooked us fish on the beach in front of the Hotel, it was wonderful :) Our good friend Nyoman has a little shop and also took us on a driving tour

I've never been there but I might enjoy it! Nice to see further north, the first time I went to Bali I was considering staying at Alam Anda in the far northeast but it didn't happen unfortunately. Maybe one day...

I love Candidasa. Stayed at Genggong before covid. Gorgeous hotel. Up the end of the town, down that side road. Just beautiful. I hope you went to Vincents for a meal. Delicious desserts!!! 😂😊
From what I can see nothing much has changed here since 2016... except that there are fewer business open and much fewer tourists. It's great to see the local Balinese enjoying the place, as they should be. Sadly I don't think tourism will bounce back here - the lack of natural beaches is a big obstacle considering how many amazing beaches Bali has elsewhere.
I recommend visiting the area a few kilometres past Candidasa - especially Pantai Bugbug and Virgin Beach - two very beautiful and unique beaches. Also the tourist accommodation in this area is VERY cheap at the moment.

If you hire a bike, there are beautiful, secluded, white sand beaches about a 20 minute ride east or west along the road. To the west around the Blue Lagoon area and Bias Tugel beach, and travelling east from Candidasa to Virgin beach and that part of the coast. The guys here only stood on the main road of the small town, which, although informative, gave the impression that was all that was possible in the area. Interesting vid though, to see what has happened since the pandemic. It's also a great jump-off point to explore further north, with amazing waterfalls, temples and volcanoes all within a 20 minute to 1 hour ride.

We like to spend a few days in CD every year......a break from Sanur. Sea views from beachfront hotels are beautiful, locals are warm and generous, many tourist attractions nearby. I see the traffic hasn't eased lol.....a busy main route and the sand and gravel trucks from Mount Agung, are relentless....but I love it!
I have seen beautiful top resorts on the beach, maybe worth a look

In the past, before the pandemic, there were big plans to build an artificial beach for Candidasa. There would be a nice beach there and also more tourists. I don't know if those plans will still be implemented in the future!
