My favourite line of this entire series "We lost ourselves. Lost our dream. In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good" - Victor (join the Glorious revolution)
i love the heimerdinger scenes and both lines of "you'd be surprised what you could accomplish if your life depends on it" and "it's not enough to give people what they need to survive. you have to give them what they need to live." because it really shows how immortality can shape your views on urgency of help, safety protocols, and living life to the fullest.
@@mikimiki5841 its kind of explained like invincible of the older a yordle gets the slower they age but they also have inherent magic which keeps them young. so not actually immortal but none have died of old age yet. its believed the runes of resolve and arcane where used in their creation.
There are so many amazing little details. - Viktor couldn't chase the little boat as a kid, and now with shimmer he is able to outrun the boats on the background. - Plants growing where they "shouldn't" be. The firelights hideout has the giant tree that bloomed, and the place where the "barons" from the undercity have the reunions also have plants, but those ones withered and died after Silco released the gas there. - Jinx made her weapon in the form of a shark as a gift to Silco. (One of its eyes was also like Silco's eye) In Act I he mentioned how much he liked the underwater creatures of Zaun, so she made the weapon a shark as a gift for him.
@@mattimeikalainen6963 Just because the original idea for Fishbones wasn't because of Silco, doesn't mean she didn't choose to give the weapon that form because of him. She could've chosen any monster, but she chose the one he likes.
There's a difference between the plants in the Chembaron's conference room and the tree - the plants were brought down form Piltover, and died when exposed to the gasses from the fissures, whereas the tree has grown out of the poisoned soil of the undercity, persevering against all odds to grow big and strong. I think the symbolism is that the Chembarons are transitory, while the Firelights have deeper roots.
@@jeremias-serus there were drawings of the shark in her room before she ever met silco which seems to mean she was always obsessed with that shark and it’s not cause of silco
@@mattimeikalainen6963 Actually, the monster drawing as a kid was a slug. The rocket launcher is more like a sea monster. I believe that, while the child memory was an influence, in Arcane the rocket was more inspired by a sea monster
Him talking to Vander's statue was not him contemplating whether or not to turn Jinx in but a conversation he has with his long lost friend (Vander) as to that basically after all these years he understands Vander now - the fact that he was ready to sacrifice everything he had built and how he became a changed man all to save Vi (his daughter). And now years later Silco is in the same position - he is contemplating on sacrificing his dreams and everything he fought for to save Jinx (his daughter). It all came full circle. Swear to God, this show has so many payoffs , be they short term or long term but they are all just so perfect and cathartic!
@@sammydray5919 Yeah feels like so many details that I picked up on and many reactors don't. I'm not sure if it's because people are dumb in general or if the fact of reacting in front of a webcam makes you miss plenty.
I LOVE the "I made her a snack" scene. Like... everyone, EVERYONE I watch reacting to this is like "Please don't be Caitlyn's head, please dont' be Caitlyn's head...", including me. Hell, VI HERSELF is thinking it, like: clearly, in some kind of fucked up-meta thing. And at the end, Jinx goes like: "Shees, I'm not THAT crazy!" Wich is even funnier since it implies that she purposefully used the "dramatic flare" of her insanity to make EVERYONE think that XD She really IS terrifying.
@@morantNO1 That was a shot of her lying on the bed while talking to Vi before, but it served exactly that purpose. It was just in Vi's mind at that moment. And it's the same trick done on the movie Se7en, where a lot of people think they saw the head in the box, when in fact it was also only a portrait shot intercut to the scene. @@aligmal5031 but, its in production. i believe that is in finally production, because riot games is very atentious with your fans. sorry my english, im brazilian huehuehue
So many parts of this show were great, but more than anything else I appreciate how perfectly it demonstrated how vicious the cycles of violence and abuse and poverty are, and the way mental illness strikes at people when it's left to fester without any kind of help... Jinx didn't have to turn out this way, she's a result of what has happened to and around her. And Vi is floundering so much too, like she got out of prison physically but is still stuck there mentally. None of what happened in this show was inevitable, it was all just a result of the environment and the decisions characters made without knowing the consequences. Every character and their point of view on the storyline makes SENSE in this show, you can see exactly why everyone reacts the way they do even when it hurts them later, and it's SO refreshing to see.
Vi was so focused on bringing back Powder, while a noble goal. Jinx is not Powder anymore and Vi refusing to accept that, led to Jinx doubling down, Silco loved her unconditionally and Jinx could tell Vi would only love her if she became Powder again.
@@samscholz5024 it is. on a long enough timeline everyone is a victim. Some may get hurt to such a lesser degree that they make it a non issue, but even the most successful people can still be victims of their parents hopes and fears. We are evolving always, as a species, but to make true progress society must evolve along with us. When it doesn't, you get friction. Welcome to human psychology 101. This show does an amazing job with that idea.
@@mkocel wtf? Literal nonsense. Utter garbage. Society doesn’t need to progress, that’s a lie forced upon you by those that wish to control you. @@samscholz5024 you just sound like you're baby raging over something that's not even related at all to what that person was actually saying. I don't think they're disagreeing with people being held accountable for their own actions, but when you're born into a society -- different cultures, religions, beliefs, etc. -- it shapes who you become as a person. We're literally programmed. How TF are you misconstruing progression of a society as a way to control people??? The devolution of a society, or stagnation thereof, is a sign of failure; the people aren't allowed to grow, acquire knowledge, etc. Like, how can you look at some places like North Korea or China or the Middle East, where they're still holding onto antiquated ideology that directly affects their citizens lives? Murdering and raping women, oppressing those born into poverty, and denying access to education and other sources of information?? Progression of society means to, you know, actually care about humanity and not just fuck each over. Are you one of those people that don't believe in mental illness or what? How can you think that growing up in places like that -- like in Arcane -- don't have any role to play in your development? What the hell are you reading that we're not seeing?
This series was a masterpeace, it felt like a real story about real people living a real live in real places. Rip Silco, he just accepted Jinx the way she is and not what she should be... My heart is still broken after episode 9
14:23 it makes sense for the mining gauntlets to have a force shield to protect miners from mine collapsing accidents. and it's a great defense for Vi because apparently she sucks at it lol with Ekko saying "You still guard with your face" and Vander "Your guard needs working"
Not sure if you want spoilers but if you don't stop reading. The crystals are actually alive with an ancient culture. The reason Viktor can't destroy them, the fact that they punish him afterwards. The sentience within the crystal bear's an influence on any who come in contact. The shields being a natural part of hextech/sentience of the creature to defend itself.
That's interesting, also the reason why everyone keeps telling her about her guard is because she first really learnt how to fight on that machine where she had the high score and that machine encourages dodging and attacks, counter attacks....
Silco was definitely gonna go to war for his daughter, he finally understood why Zander gave himself up in the end. That wasnt an option for him since Jayce understood he was a neccessary evil.
I found it amazing how Jinx said that Vi's voice was always pushing her to move forward and stay alive, but at the end she only heard Silco's voice as she launched the rocket towards the Council.
“Pushing me, picking me up when all the color’s were black,” followed by the colorful monsters attacking Jinx mentally. That line hurts so much because it shows how much Vi meant to her up until that point, and that’s where she unknowingly hurt her again.
@@Dressup_Doll This doesn't change much, since Jinx ultimately put herself in that position. Even though Vi wasn't helping, I seriously doubt Jinx felt betrayed, or thought her sister was being malicious. She was just having a psychotic break.
Kinda not fair with Silco to doubt if he was being honest with jinx, of course he was, he wasnt going to give jinx over, i think it was obvious since in previous episodes we confirm that silco cares for jinx and believes in loyalty
@@bernhardstil6128 Exactly. Plus his entire character revolves around his feelings of loyalty after being betrayed. Why would he do something contradictory to his own beliefs.
@@raulsauceda7392 More specifically, his arc is one of becoming a bit closer to the traits he had previously despised in Vander. He came to realize that he would give up anything for his daughter, even his dream of an independent Zaun.
32:44 I actually disagree Rana. I think they're _always_ going to be sisters, and that's what's so damningy sad about it. They can't break that bond with each other, even as they find themselves in conflict.
Yeah, even in game lore, Jinx has a "weird obsession" with Vi (originally they weren't confirmed sisters, this show was actually basically the confirmation even though they already left hints before) and Vi had amnesia, so she deadass didn't remember who Jinx was. But Jinx would actively seek her out and play pranks/get her to chase her around Piltover and Zaun as basically her way of "bonding" with her, even after all that time. Plus, in legends of runeterra there's a mission you can play where Jinx finds this stuffed rabbit (like the one Vi gave her) and goes looking for Vi to give it to her as a birthday gift. Cait calling Vi her partner makes Jinx lose her MIND, indicating Jinx's hangups/insecurities about Vi are mostly still just that she's around Cait. Depending on how you play it, Jinx and Vi can either be enemies still or make up, with the ending scene being them hugging and watching the enforcer academy burn to the ground. Even in the enemy route, Vi just looks really sad when she tells her she can't keep going around hurting people to get what she wants. TLDR: In conclusion, they'll always love and care about each other no matter how messy and complicated things get between them. They'll always be sisters.
@@Swordprincess777 But the fact that Vi never called Powder Jinx, never, is obvius that vi doesn t accept her sister as Jinx, she loves it only as Powder. Pretty sad. Not like Silco that he loved Jinx as Jinx.
@@parox8134 In turn, that’s because she remembers it as something she said when there was no _thinking_ about what that could cause, and she regrets it, while for Jinx and literally _everyone else_ , “Jinx” has been the reality for years. So, Vi can’t call her that again due to regrets (and it fully being tied to seeing her as a negative aspect), while Jinx is so far into embracing it that _she_ can’t see herself as even who she used to be.
@@parox8134 nah dude. vi has been outta jail for a minute and the only one she knows is powder. plus, of COURSE she would have hangups about calling her sister the mean childhood curse/nickname jinx thinks she deserves, be fr. and silco has his own issues and reasons to see jinx the way he does, to isolate her and tell her that no one would ever care about her except him. silco doesn't understand and can't accept that jinx is not only jinx. he tries to have her bury powder and it just doesn't work. and vi is still clinging to the powder she knew, but she JUST met jinx and literally was still willing to accept her, with all the atrocities she committed and still being different. both bonds are important to understand jinx, and this silco elevation and vi dismissal makes no damn sense. whatever happened to nuance bruh..?
@@l.josinoI’m willing to politely debate and suggest that Silco wasn’t trying to manipulate Jinx as much as it seems. I always viewed his words as him saying what he believed, and he did think Vi was actually dead. “It’s only a matter of time before you implode and he sees you’re as good for the cause as you were for your family. Jinx” explains it pretty well. Silco didn’t know how Jinx would react to seeing Vi again-her timing of showing up after the Gemstone was stolen-doesn’t help, either. As for isolation, I can’t speak about that too much. Jinx seems to have free reign and can go where she pleases, but that could be speculation. Silco is still a terrible father, but I also think it’s safe to say that he did try, it just wasn’t his best. (I could be biased since my dad really likes Silco, Heimerdinger, and Vander).
About the Game vs Lore. The best analogy I can give is this: Imagine a game of chess where every piece is different, does different things, has a personality and a background story. You still don't need to know the story to play the game of chess. League is like that. The lore is in the background. It is not explored in-game. When new characters come out, they tell the lore of it to increase the hype hence the sells. Hope this helps you guys understand! Love the videos btw!
both LoL and Arcane are like that Arcane is the backstory of the "chess pieces", but you dont really need to play the game (chess/LoL) to understand it LoL is the game that uses those "chess pieces", but you don't really need to know their background stories to play it
22:31 No. To my understanding, the whole 'teams of 5 trying to destroy each other's base' thing isn't part of any lore. It's just a game. I think, apart from Jinx, many of the other champions in the series haven't fully reached their 'final form' as it were, both game-wise and lore-wise. So their origin stories are far from complete. In other words, Bruce Wayne still hasn't put on his cowl and Clark Kent is still living on the farm. So we will be getting another season, maybe two, to address these........transformations
It's technically in the lore, the nation's of the world put forward champions to play in a battle to get their policies through instead of all out war. Not sure if it's still Canon but that's what it was
@@befreud No it isn't. Summoners Rift hasn't been canon for years now. And that's not even exactly what the lore used to be. The lore used to go like, the Institute of War was established after the fifth Rune War, and Summoners would be assigned to different nations, these Summoners would call forth champions and mindless minions to fight, inside those controlled environemnts, for the causes representing their nation. But all of that has been retconned and doesn't exist anymore.
Silco was the worst influence on Powder, but unfortunately he was the person who understood her the most, who accepted and loved Jinx the most. Their relationship was dark, but at the same time beautiful and poetic, even more so when Silco visits his brother's grave and tells her that now he understands, now he understands why the sacrifice, the love of a father for a son or daughter can change any desire you have. You can go to hell with a smile on your face if the end is to give your daughter some peace.
Silco sitting at Vanders statue was him coming full circle. Understanding why Zander gave up on the war after he adopted Vi and Powder. He finally understood Zander’s reason for betrayal.
In episode 3, while Vi almost made an escape with Vender and the crew, Jinx intended to save them by throwing the bomb but ended up killing almost everyone. In episode 9, while the Council finally voted for peace in favor of Silco's dream for the independence of the underworld, Jinx intended 'help' Silco by destroying the Council but ended up destroying the peace and Silco's ultimate dream. An unpopular opinion is that this is not a cliffhanger but instead a perfect ending for 'The Birth of Jinx' origin story.
@@QqQ3Three3 Remember Silce said: "They can all burn, it's just you and me" and he even said "I wouldn't have given up on you, not for anything". Silco was gonna go to war, was gonna give up on his dream all because of Jinx
Considering Mel is from the city of Noxus, notoriously known for their use of magic. It's safe to say it was definitely magic that either warns or protects or from the bomb
The amount of love Silco have for Jinx is amazing, normally if someone kills me i will get mad at that person, but hes not selfish, even dying he loves her and says what she always want it to hear. "I never would have given you to them, not for anything" "you're perfect".
I think this was a perfect open ended story on itself - the heart of the story is about 2 sisters being ripped apart by circumstance, then trying everything to get back together to their old relation only to find they have changed so much that that simply isn't there and a new status quo is attained. Sad as it may be, what's left open can easily be imagined where it would lead to (Vii & Cait back together, Jinx lone wolf, council dead, war unavoidable), if not for the confirmed season 2 where I'm sure Mel, Jayce & Vicktor will survive somehow (Mel shield?) and more trouble Vii & Cait awaits as well as new storylines coming into the mix. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I loved this ending before I knew a season 2 was coming (that based on the teaser is a direct continuation of this season). While I'm glad more of this amazing show is coming, it still stands very well on it's own as an open ended story with a completed through-line.
I love how the line “what could have been” happens before the shark crushes the window because in that room there’s a group of people voting for a future where Piltover and Zaun live in peace with each other so we are literally looking at what could have been before Jinx destroys it all. I also enjoy the parallel with episode 3, where in both situations Jinx thinks she’s doing the right thing or helping some she loves but in reality her interfering is just turning what was to be a good situation very very bad. No matter how much we love her, she truly is a jinx
In this case the war it was going to happen no matter what, remember Peace Will only happen ir Silco gives them Jinx, something that Will never happen.
@@dietos3715 Jinx could've given up herself (before killing Silco), even if it was against Silco's wishes. Vi did _precisely that_ near the end of Act 1, so what's her sister's excuse? None. She has no moral high ground, and nothing to deflect blame when it comes to this situation. She's sympathetic, but she's ultimately selfish, and could only focus on her own pain (also probably didn't want to suffer the consequences of her previous terrorism).
The thing that really impresses me about this show is that all the characters the "camera" tends to focus on have such a human quality to them. They all make decisions that are ill-advised, and they all have moments of grace. I found the scene where Silco confesses his conundrum to Vander to be remarkably poignant. The idea of Silco now understanding Vander's view of some sacrifices not being worth it felt like coming full circle.
In terms of lore, Piltover vs Zaun is a very minor geopolitical conflict, it is not that they will go to war and that will be the end of the world for them in itself, what scares the shit out of Medarda, who is the most diplomaticly savvy character there, is that Piltover showing weakness will make the real world powers step in.
@@desjPol Yeh, the Freljord is my favourite part of LoL lorewise and I hope it gets touched on, although I don’t know how it can relate to the story they’re currently telling in Arcane
It’s ironic that our supposed hero couldn’t accept her sister as she was… But our supposed villain could and did accept Jinx for who she was without a second thought.
at the end you can see mel turn her head around as she notices the rocket about to hit. i really think her instincts kick in and that gold mental armor on her back is a shield
people don't realize this series was made in about 6 years of work these amazing 9 episodes took that amount of effort and work from a very smart dedicated group of people so not every company can afford to do that level of production that is why Riot game can do it and only them
@@kiwiskinny4027 No, because a lot of that time was spent figuring things out and how to do things. Now that they already have the art style and processes, future episodes will go much faster. Like one year instead of 6.
I've been a fan of The Normies for years. I don't watch everything, but y'all extend the enjoyment of my favorite shows. Very grateful for y'all's vulnerability to watch and discussed unabashedly as yourselves.
What an ending. This show has such a great soundtrack, animation, voice acting and story. I'm so happy it was dark and mature. Silco ended up being one of my favorite characters this season.. Don't cry, you're perfect.
i don't want vi to completely move on/forget about jinx. like i don't want her to go just like "fuck jinx, she doesn't exist to me, powder's gone, its not my fault" etc. i know they're not just gonna go back to sunshine and rainbows, but i think by making her always carry that burden (that jinx is partly her fault) together with jinx is what gives their conflict weight. the conflict between them in the next seasons has the potential to be some of the best moments in cinematic history
"I remember when you stood for something important...Vi" "Let me forget" "You think I"M crazy, you should see my sister" "I had a crush, then you started talking to the gun" "ALl yOuR FAUlT...aLL YOuR fAulT!" Just some character interactions with no specific order.
So the game is basically a "What if all these legends throughout the history of this world were put into an arena/league to fight each other" and each champion has their own lore of how they became legendary enough to be in this league.
That is no longer canon and hasn’t been for like 5 years now. The characters are simply just existing in their own regions and own lores. The Rift is just a format to bring them all together.
Silco was not contemplating giving her up when he was talking to Vander's statue. Vander's demise was him reducing to give his daughter Vi up to jail, n here Silco's love to his daughter Jinx will cust him everything he ever wanted (and more, since Silco demands were higher thinking Jace was going to haggle) Silco: "The boy didn't even haggle" Ekko: "He paid in gold and didn't even haggle. I charge him bubble"
"The game is the war, right?" Used to be the case back in the day. The League of Legends were the champions that fought each other in Summoner's Rift on behalf of the Institute of War to settle political disputes in lieu of actual war, on account of the fact that their world of Runeterra was liable to be destroyed if they had another full on war. Riot scrapped all that old lore on account of it becoming harder and harder to justify the story with various gods, dimensional ravagers and other mad shit that kept being added as characters. Now the lore is just informative of the characters places, positions and history in the world, the game League of Legends is technically non-canon to the actual setting of Runeterra itself. It's more like Smash Brothers conceptually now, a big 'what if' environment. All the characters do exist in Runeterra but there's no represented platform in canon for them to meet and battle like they do in the MOBA anymore. I'm sure you have already found out elsewhere as well, but a season 2 has already been confirmed in production. How far along they mean is unknown, but it's coming. Hedge bets on 2023.
I have a feeling season 2 is already complete in terms of story etc. I think they just need add the finishing touches and possibly start season 3 in time for season 2 to drop so I'm hoping same time next year but we'll see.
That raises a question, whether Riot is going to develop their characters further, beyond their in-game personas. Or do they leave champions be once they reach their game counterparts?
Season 2 has been confirmed, now talking about this season. This season was about Jinx and how she became from powder to Jinx, she has played her role on this story, I believe on Season 2 she will still be around of course but they will focus more on the others since their stories still need to be told.
Yeah Jinx and Jayce might take more the role Victor has now, and it might focus more on Viktor, Ekko, and maybe Vi and Caitlyn. Those characters are currently the furthest from their “state in game” so to speak.
@@LittleVidds I don't think it'll be Demacia. I reckon it'll be a prelude to Noxus' invasion of Ionia, so we could see a lot of Ionian champs around, like Irelia, Yi and the Vastayans, like Ahri, Rakan and Xayah. We might even get the more neutral parties, like Bilgewater or champs like Sett (A half-vastayan crime lord) or Rengar (a bounty hunter/big game hunter) The scary thing is if Medarda is here as a sort of diplomat, we could very well see Noxus' head honcho, Swain pre-bird demon.
Every screen writer nowadays (since most suck) should take notes from Arcane how to do "Pay Offs". This show had probably the greatest pay offs I have seen for years. Everything, everything fits and plays together in the end and there is no lose end and every exposition was paid off. Absolutely stunning show.
Since silco said he was never gonna betray jinx peace was never going to be am option, the council voted for peace based on what jayce said, but he had no idea silco wouldn't agree to all terms, so just this time, jinx didn't ruin anything, she just gave the first strike and solidified the fact that powder was gone a long time ago and she would kid herself anymore. Also, such a coll detail that jinx said vis voice was the only thing keeping her going forward but after what happen, now is silcos voice what keeps her going forward. There still like 5~6 years for her to be like her counterpart in the game (21 years old) so im intrigued about what season 2 is gonna be about, this part of the world or others like noxus.
I love Silco so much! He really grew thru these episodes to the point where he sacrificed so much only to gave it all up for the future of the one he loved! Silco sure had his flaws, but being a bad influence or a bad parent wasn't one them!
Nah, he was a bad parent. Just because you love someone, doesn't mean, that you haven't fucked them up, by telling them over an over again, that you can trust nobody but him. His love was toxic, since he emotionally isolated her. Just like he did with himself. They have nobody else. And never would have. Imagine a 60 Year old Dad with a 30 Year old daughter, isolated since they think, it is only them. Yeah, sound healthy.
@@NerieI If anything it was Vi who was toxic for Jinx. Always pushing her aside, never really looking into her needs nor having any kind of consideration for Jinxes mental state... What Silco said to Jinx in his final moments was true to the point! The moment Vi would realize that Jinx is no longer the little Powder, she would have walked away! Actually leaving Jinx all alone yet again! Trust is very hard and you can't just put it into everybody! People need to provethemselves worthy if some1s trust is to be placed upon them! I am with Silco on that front 100% never trust anybody. And if you have to, make sure you can dispose of them if it comes to it. Seems healthy and safe to me. And considering who these people are, yes I think that dad and daughter alone together seem healthy if we consider all the strings attached around. Ever since Jinxes parents died because of Vander, Jinx needed somebody. To guide her, to look out for her, to protect her and to love her unconditionally. Silco did that, Vi couldn't... She wouldn't even chose her own sister over some random girl she known for what 2 maybe 3 days? What does that say about the purity of Vi's intentions? Is that healthy for Jinx? To be taken away from the one person who would do anything for her only to end up with somebody who would leave her alone to pursue her own selfish desires?
@@NerieI Gotta remember that Silco felt betrayed by Vander so it's truly how Silco sees the world. Its everyone else vs Jinx and himself. In the early episodes he even says, he died and a new man was reborn. Bringing it full circle to Powder dying and being reborn as Jinx. I dont think its toxic or that he's purposefully being toxic. Its a mechanism he developed when dealing with others. Cant trust them. And its what he teaches Jinx because he truly believes thats the best way to avoid pain and to come out ahead. Its just a bunch of dudes who grew up in messed up circumstances doing the best with what they believe is right.
@@silos201 I am not saying that he is doing it on purpose. He himself is suffering from a Trauma he never got over with. That is why he has this, "can't trust anybody" mentality. That still doesn't change the fact, that it is a very Toxic love. For both of them. They gave each other what they wanted but not what they needed and with more time, their mental state would have gotten worse and worse. That just happens, when people isolate themselfs from the world. I mean, if I have to explain, that it is not a good thing, that a Father and Daughter, live together for the rest of their lifes, with no other social contacts, since they believe everybody will betray them... I mean come on.
@@petrgalko4152 I don't think you're in any position to judge what is or isn't toxic behavior if you genuinely believe that people and trust should operate like this. Talk to somebody.
That Silco and Vander's statue scene is so often overlooked by reactors. It's easily one of the most important scene of the show. There's even a throwback from episode 1 when Ekko said that Jayce "didn't even haggle." And Silco says the exact same. It's such a clever show, not sure they'll ever be able to match season 1 unless they truly carefully take their time as they did with this one. Oh and absolutely use the same teams for every part of that masterpiece, thank you very much. Arcane's story telling is so clever I'm not surprised many reactors struggle to pick up on all these details. People aren't used to such smart writing anymore.
"Is there another one?" "Mabye there is one more episode....." Yea, as a league player for many years. Welcome to my life of getting screwed by riot every time.
As far as the gold glimmering on Mel’s back, I fully believe it was just the light reflecting off her back piece as she turned and confirming for the audience that she was *that close* to the window, the first to be hit by the missile.
i have to comment riot games for their music choice. arcane is filled with bangers honestly, also, the league universe is very vast, i'd be super excited if they decided to explore it more and show off some other amazing characters. would make the series an easy 10/10.
Worth noting that a lot (if not all) of the music is either commissioned by Riot or created by them directly. The songs with specific artists and the finale song with Sting were all part of Riot's creative process.
cant wait for Ryze to show up every once in a blue moon trying to get some of those world runes, maybe slowly introducing more celestial characters in the process :D
Btw, the game isnt the war, u see like 6 characters in this show, the game has 150, all of them have backstories, there are several nations, its super rich in lore, this is but a tiny fraction, characters like Ekko dont even have their "powers" yet, viktor is still just a regular dude... there is more to THIS story and WAY MORE to the game lore, this is like 3% of the world
8:14 There was a time in the past where Jayce was the one who contemplated suicide after too much loss. And Victor walked in and saved him with those very words. Nice to see Jayce doing it to Victor now and having it come full circle.
I think either Mel or Jayce will create some kind of shield around them, since they and Viktor are all right next to each other, but the bomb will kill the rest of the council, including Caitlyn's mother.
The vision of a man founded on betrayal. Operating toward independence for his people. And actually on the cusp of achieving it. Sacrifices it all over the very person he _chose_ to rescue. Who grew into a beautiful tragedy, that was _lost_ along the way. Simply by him doing everything to protect and anything to save her. In the end wouldn't nor couldn't commit the act of betrayal towards his very daughter; Jinx. A necessity to break the cycle. Maintaining and upholding his principles was the culmination that led him to not being able to let go of what was for what is and needs to be(his leading principle). To him Jinx's faults truly made her perfect. As her journey mirrored his. Same can be said for Vander with his view of Vi. What a great arc they shared and brought full circle. 'Is there anything as undoing as a daughter...?' -Silco, coming to terms with Vander's unenviable position of plight
While the cliffhanger was huge and frustrating, it seems this entire season was supposed to be a Jinx origin story, which it was. They have left many loose ends for following seasons, which I'm so hyped about. Also the dinner scene was utterly spectacular, with the song at the ending representing everything that happened in this first season. "I hope you know we had everything When you broke me and left these pieces." Jinx was a monster created in this first season. Lastly, Silco has to be one of the best villains I have ever seen, such a horrifying villain, yet someone who is capable of love, and willing to give up his lifelong dream for his daughter. Truly a masterpiece of an episode.
I love the symmetry between Powder/Jinx blowing everything up in episode 3 and 9, first on accident and now on purpose, resigned to play the rol she's been forced into, really finally becoming Jinx.
I hope that season 2 show more of Jinx and Silco during those years before the time skip or the a like a separate series. They were the heart of the series for me. The only thing that came close was the relationship between Ví and Jinx or Jeice and Viktor.
Great reactions yall. Also glad that someone pointed out Mel's glowing armor thing, it was literally underneath her dress and they still decided to focus on it, so it must do something.
Sooo I literally JUST noticed something cool last night.. At the end right after they show the rocket start to open up/activate, Jayce and Mel are smiling at each other and you can see her Facial expression change. Like she actually did notice something was wrong... I can't even tell you how many times I've watched this scene or how many reaction videos I've seen... And I've always thought the reflection on her back was just the light from the rocket. Buuuuut... after seeing her face and her back reflecting from underneath her clothes, maybe Season 2 starts by showing her abilities in some way 🤔 I mean.. everyone assumes it's going to be Jayce or Viktor that does something, but if we've learned anything from Season 1 it's that this show always does the last thing we think will happen
Can we just appreciate the soundtrack tho. The last song fit Jinx so well. “I am the monster you created”, “I hope you know we had everything when you broke me and left these pieces”, “Why don’t you love who I am”
"A thousand times I've imagined this moment, but never like this. All we ever wanted. A boy didnt even haggle. And what do I lose but problems... Oh it all makes now makes sense brother"
I love how realistic this show is. A typical hero shouting at their "possessed" or otherwise corrupted companion to come to their senses cliché got turned on its head because all Vi was doing was invoking Jinx's trauma by making her remember and Silco was the one telling her to not listen to it which was actually a good thing because all Vi achieved was her sister going mental and almost killing them both.
This series has outdone all of my expectations, even the themesong has started to sound better and better with every episode. Fuckin epic portrayal of every character, storyline almost flawless. I can’t wait for season 2. I want to see Ezreal!
I bet Mel is wearing the "Locket of the Iron Solari" (For non game players it is a support item that grants an area of effect shield). She will shield herself and a few others.

PEOPLE DON'T LIKE SILCO SAYING POWDER IS DEAD ... BUT SHE IS AND HAS BEEN FOR A LONG TIME HE KNOWS THIS BETTER THAN ANYONE BECAUSE HE'S BEEN THERE WATCHING AND TAKING CARE OF HER
You can tell the Normies have lived very sheltered lives. Plainly asking "What is wrong with you?!" is disrespectful imo. They literally spent 9 episodes showing you whats wrong. They haven't really seen what any amount of trauma does to a person. The Normies really do have a black and white view of the world. Frankly disappointing, but not surprising. In the 90's in the Philippines, house robberies was rampant. Being from a fairly wealthy family we were victims. Five guys with weapons tried to steal all our stuff. Me being 9 and my sister being 12 at the time, the events both gave us trauma and we both dealt with it differently. I stabbed one robber trying to defend my sister from being raped. I was freed and my actions were deemed as self defense. My sister's trauma made her similar to jinx. I saw shades of her in jinx. It was so painfully accurate that I applaud Riot for their writing. Her trauma led her to have schizophrenia and bpd. My trauma led me to be nervous and wary of physical altercations. Fearing that my actions might lead to another stabbing or worse, i try to avoid people as much as possible.
Mickey is actually right. This is canon and prequel to events in the game. Quite a few characters in this show are actually playable characters and this show is showing how they got there.
At first, i was confused about the shield but then i remembered... those gauntlets are meant for miners not for brawling and the most common accidents in mining are falling rocks. This show is so consistent I love it. (i know vi has a passive that grants her shield)
What a great show. I knew the art was cool but i went in with very low expectations and i was blown away. It has heart, style, great action, real emotion, cool personalities. It's a huge achievement in all regards. I hope they're buried in awards. But holy shit, the wait for season 2 is going to be GRUELING.
Sevikas response to silco’s “were you tempted?” Was a reflection of her previous conversation with the chembaron she killed. “There are bigger fish than Silco.” She said “not for a worm like him. But he won’t be the last.” Finn wasn’t the bigger fish, Sevika is.
This ending is soo good Vi failing Jinx’s questions. Silco not feeling hatred for Jinx after she shot him telling her she’s perfect. The revealing of fishbones with the red moon and Jinx using her ultimate super mega death rocket. I was screaming while crying. I can’t wait for season 2!
Fun detail the cannon jinx use is dedicated to silco because remember he likes sea creatures and that cannon is meant to represent him and is in a way dedicated to him
The painting that Mel made is the famous landmark (even a symbol) of Noxus. In the previous ep, we saw that see still miss her home and maybe want to return or contribute to it some how. But in the finale the paiting was "destroyed" to show that she has already made up her mind. Riot really out done themselves every time with visual story telling. Btw love your reaction and discussion as always. Looking foward for season 2 (but damm how long that would take ~~)
My favourite line of this entire series "We lost ourselves. Lost our dream. In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good" - Victor (join the Glorious revolution)
evolution*
i love the heimerdinger scenes and both lines of "you'd be surprised what you could accomplish if your life depends on it" and "it's not enough to give people what they need to survive. you have to give them what they need to live." because it really shows how immortality can shape your views on urgency of help, safety protocols, and living life to the fullest.
Technically yordles are not immortal, they can age too, but yes, compared to humans it is correct to say that they are immortal.

Well pointed!
Oh wow, these are really great observations.

@@morantNO1 That was a shot of her lying on the bed while talking to Vi before, but it served exactly that purpose. It was just in Vi's mind at that moment.

No. This is a strange way of saying nobodies at fault for their own actions, it’s all societies fault.
@@samscholz5024 it is. on a long enough timeline everyone is a victim. Murdering and raping women, oppressing those born into poverty, and denying access to education and other sources of information?? with Ekko saying "You still guard with your face" and Vander "Your guard needs working"
Her passive in the game also involves a shield so it ties in there as well
Not sure if you want spoilers but if you don't stop reading.
The way he reacted when he sees her on the bridge, how he acts when he gets her to Singed, his dying words - he has no reason to lie.
I think it’s pretty beautiful that he said “you’re perfect, Jinx” when he has no reason to lie. Finally showing he cared since episode three.
maybe he felt that way because of Vi, he said she was dead to Jinx because he believed she was dead, but she was just in jail
The best animated show I've ever seen. Jinx has psychosis, not dissociative identity disorder
The best analogy I can give is this:
Imagine a game of chess where every piece is different, does different things, has a personality and a background story. You still don't need to know the story to play the game of chess.
League is like that. The lore is in the background. It is not explored in-game. When new characters come out, they tell the lore of it to increase the hype hence the sells.
Hope this helps you guys understand!
Love the videos btw!
both LoL and Arcane are like that
Arcane is the backstory of the "chess pieces", but you dont really need to play the game (chess/LoL) to understand it
LoL is the game that uses those "chess pieces", but you don't really need to know their background stories to play it

God, Sting, Ray Chen, and Riot did such a good job with What Could Have Been. It really fits the scene and is such an motional song

they said it won't be in 2022 and they didn't confirm if it will be 2023 so who knows we might wait 2 years or more hopefully it's asap
I've been a fan of The Normies for years. I don't watch everything, but y'all extend the enjoyment of my favorite shows. Very grateful for y'all's vulnerability to watch and discussed unabashedly as yourselves.
"Maybe there is one more episode."
The hope was real. :D
If the games lore has any effect on the show, then no. She won't. She'll keep trying to get to Jinx
"I remember when you stood for something important...Vi"
"Let me forget"
"You think I"M crazy, you should see my sister"
"I had a crush, then you started talking to the gun"
"ALl yOuR FAUlT...aLL YOuR fAulT!"
Just some character interactions with no specific order.
Don't forget the ''You were there...''
I like how you typed "all your fault" - it is very fitting to the actual voice line
"Many faces fade in flame, it was all her fault..." the crow is watching
"The fear in your eyes,I've seen it before"
So the game is basically a "What if all these legends throughout the history of this world were put into an arena/league to fight each other" and each champion has their own lore of how they became legendary enough to be in this league.
That is no longer canon and hasn’t been for like 5 years now. The characters are simply just existing in their own regions and own lores. The Rift is just a format to bring them all together.
@@astrea4020 That's basically what I said. Own lore and backstories at different times but the game is for bringing them together on the rift
meanwhile, Twitch and Zac are just there... vibing
@@ultravioletcatastrophe they are from Zaun. They might show up in Season 2
@@Zanza007 I was referring to "each champion has their own lore of how they became legendary"
Silco was not contemplating giving her up when he was talking to Vander's statue. Vander's demise was him reducing to give his daughter Vi up to jail, n here Silco's love to his daughter Jinx will cust him everything he ever wanted (and more, since Silco demands were higher thinking Jace was going to haggle)
Silco: "The boy didn't even haggle"
Ekko: "He paid in gold and didn't even haggle. I charge him bubble"
The way they all rapidly went through the 5 stages of grief as the credits rolled just knocked the wind out of me.
“don’t; I ship them” suraj speaking all our minds lmaooo💀
19:00 The animation dude!! How jinx goes from innocent little girl to evil mastermind in seconds, so good..
I really love how Silco's story ended. Vander was right and he finally understood before dying.
"The game is the war, right?"
Used to be the case back in the day.
Huh I like the comparison to smash haha, never thought of it that way but it’s true
Loving the Smash Brothers comparison, great way to put it.
@@benf2682 Yeah me too. I think they are just making time for a 3rd season. Or a different project.
The way this was structured and executed is INSANE!
Excited for Noxus and with Noxus there will be Demacia. Also, they can't just tease a Teemo for him to not show up next season.
@@LittleVidds I don't think it'll be Demacia. I reckon it'll be a prelude to Noxus' invasion of Ionia, so we could see a lot of Ionian champs around, like Irelia, Yi and the Vastayans, like Ahri, Rakan and Xayah. We might even get the more neutral parties, like Bilgewater or champs like Sett (A half-vastayan crime lord) or Rengar (a bounty hunter/big game hunter)
The scary thing is if Medarda is here as a sort of diplomat, we could very well see Noxus' head honcho, Swain pre-bird demon.
Viktor to Jayce episode 1: Am I interrupting?
Jayce to Viktor episode 9: Am I interrupting?
IT'S PERFECT
Ekko: You *still* block with your face!
Vander: Well. Your guard needs working.
"Arcane... I want it in my veins." -Marketa
she needs a hexcore lmao
I love how they were all in denial that that was the finale, when that was indeed the finale
Every screen writer nowadays (since most suck) should take notes from Arcane how to do "Pay Offs". This show had probably the greatest pay offs I have seen for years. Everything, everything fits and plays together in the end and there is no lose end and every exposition was paid off.
Absolutely stunning show.
This is one of the few shows where I will not mind waiting years for it. I just want a near perfect season 2 just like this.
Amen!
You could almost look at this season as Jinx's origin story
"Is there another one?" "Mabye there is one more episode....."
Yea, as a league player for many years.
Noxus would be like the Game of Thrones version of Arcane lol they probably couldn't handle it lmao
"Oooooh the misery! "
cant wait for Ryze to show up every once in a blue moon trying to get some of those world runes, maybe slowly introducing more celestial characters in the process :D
Btw, the game isnt the war, u see like 6 characters in this show, the game has 150, all of them have backstories, there are several nations, its super rich in lore, this is but a tiny fraction, characters like Ekko dont even have their "powers" yet, viktor is still just a regular dude... there is more to THIS story and WAY MORE to the game lore, this is like 3% of the world
For example Mel isn't kidding when she says she is one of the richest Piltoven but the poorest mederda
I love the Tyrone Biggums "Just one more episode."
loved the "a tenth episode thats 90 minutes long" yes! we need that
8:14 There was a time in the past where Jayce was the one who contemplated suicide after too much loss.
'Is there anything as undoing as a daughter...?'
-Silco, coming to terms with Vander's unenviable position of plight
While the cliffhanger was huge and frustrating, it seems this entire season was supposed to be a Jinx origin story, which it was. They have left many loose ends for following seasons, which I'm so hyped about. Also the dinner scene was utterly spectacular, with the song at the ending representing everything that happened in this first season. "I hope you know we had everything
When you broke me and left these pieces." Jinx was a monster created in this first season. Lastly, Silco has to be one of the best villains I have ever seen, such a horrifying villain, yet someone who is capable of love, and willing to give up his lifelong dream for his daughter. Truly a masterpiece of an episode.
Yup! That was my reaction at the end, was so powerful the emotions, everything!!!
Suraj's arc toward loving Imagine Dragons is perfect
I find it interesting how there was a global understanding that we should never skip Arcane’s intro
Buuuuut... after seeing her face and her back reflecting from underneath her clothes, maybe Season 2 starts by showing her abilities in some way 🤔
I mean.. everyone assumes it's going to be Jayce or Viktor that does something, but if we've learned anything from Season 1 it's that this show always does the last thing we think will happen
Can we just appreciate the soundtrack tho. The last song fit Jinx so well. “I am the monster you created”, “I hope you know we had everything when you broke me and left these pieces”, “Why don’t you love who I am”
Take a look at silco's ashtray. He really did love jinx
Or his mug - ofc he did. He would give up his dream for his daughter. If that is not unconditional love then what is?
This show ending made me fucking CRY. Marketa had the exact same reaction I did, yelling at the screen.
I don't watch a lot of TV but this show was honestly SO well crafted.
Jinx is my favorite character. Her arc is amazing
"A thousand times I've imagined this moment, but never like this. All we ever wanted. A boy didnt even haggle. And what do I lose but problems... Oh it all makes now makes sense brother"
is there anything so undoing as a daughter?
Is the game good? I heard that you can play it on mobile and computer is there difference in the two platform? Thank you.
@@ats1999 the mobile and computer games are very different from each other. League of legends for the computer is a good fun game, but the community is genuinely disturbingly toxic at times, so playing with a friend is recommended for your sanity lol

I gotta admit...my favorite thing about watching people react to arcane is them watching the credits play at episode 9
I really like jinx ....she's such an interesting character and a badass. Anyone else feels the same?

Not in 2022
2023 atleast as the Twitter Says
@@mattimeikalainen6963 early November 2023 is probably going to be the release date.
Simply speculation. Willing to wait a few years for something as good as this.
But he won’t be the last.”
Finn wasn’t the bigger fish, Sevika is.
Fun detail the cannon jinx use is dedicated to silco because remember he likes sea creatures and that cannon is meant to represent him and is in a way dedicated to him
Micky was right at the end, this is basically everything that wasn't in the lore that leads up to where the current story is
The painting that Mel made is the famous landmark (even a symbol) of Noxus. In the previous ep, we saw that see still miss her home and maybe want to return or contribute to it some how. But in the finale the paiting was "destroyed" to show that she has already made up her mind. Riot really out done themselves every time with visual story telling.
Btw love your reaction and discussion as always. Looking foward for season 2 (but damm how long that would take ~~)
Everyone's so excited for season 2, I actually thought this was a perfect ending.
