- Today we're going to be talking about the Boston Celtics and the run they've put together to start the 2023-24 NBA season. After the offseason additions of Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, fans were waiting to see how the team would perform. They've gotten their answer. The starting lineup of Holiday, Porzingis, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum has proven to be one of the most potent in the NBA on both offense and defense. And with solid bench pieces in Al Horford, Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser and Neemias Queta, they've become one of the scariest teams in the league. Crazy thing is the Celtics have the easiest remaining nba schedule so I definitely expect them to finish with the best record in the NBA. HEALTH is the key for the Celtics to win it all.

@@darkdevil1669Bruh Kristaps has been benched the past 10 games. Milwaukee has had literally the easiest schedule in the NBA up to this point. Just cause you would rather have a 6 ft 6 mannequin on defense than Dame doesn't change facts because it's "been an adjustment".
@@darkdevil1669 if they're healthy I can pretty much guarantee it. Milwaukee has the 5th hardest remaining schedule and Boston has literally the easiest.

I'm a Warriors fan, but spent a few years in Boston, so I've always had love for the C's.
I'm also a KP fan and watching him alongside Tatum, Brown, and Jrue has been a treat!!! D White has really improved also!
Boston definitely has the pieces to go all the way.
I'm a Boston fan and like the Warriors too. Started watching them after the Celtics traded Pierce and KG. Young Curry before he started winning, even went to one of their games against Boston.
Most stacked starting five I've seen in quite a while. Haven't given much thought to their bench, but with those starters, they'd better at least take the Finals to seven games. A window like this doesn't open very often and tends to close quickly these days.
Queta is a good bench player for them. As long as they get another versatile big stopper or another scoring option off the bench, we'll be fine
When the season started it was pretty much the starting 5 and then nothing. But Hauser and Pritchard are both contributing regularly now, and some of th younger guys are starting to step up. However, when the playoffs roll around it's probably going to be just 7 guys playing regularly.

Don't sleep on Queta, he's coming into his own hella quick.
Not many 7 footers have feet as quick as he does, and he has a high motor. Probably has something to do with being from a predominantly soccer country.
Not saying nothing crazy like he's gonna be a future 6moty or nothing like that, but he's becoming more and more solid with every passing game. He's put up a few games with 10 rebounds in around 20 mins of playing time off the bench. That's huge for a team that wasn't expected to have much size depth coming into the season.
As a Celtics fan, the thing to me is the mentality. These are a bunch of guys that could be #1-#3 options on most teams, being ok with taking the #4 or #5 spot on any given night. I feel like these are guys who came together because they want to win and each one of them is willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to win. That's more rare, in my eyes, than simply assembling talent. A good GM can assemble a lot of talent on a team. It takes a great GM and Head Coach to get all that talent to be willing to step back and allow other guys to take the spotlight on any given night.
Agreed, these guys play like they truly don't give an f about their statlines at the end of the night
Definitely a good time to be a Celtics fan. If they can figure out how to not take their foot off the gas and give teams a way back in, they'll be nigh unstoppable.

It's a great team but Boston does this almost every season, they look the best team in the NBA just to mess it up in the playoffs. It's a new team, new players, so hopefully this time they can change the narrative

@@kennn30 yes but they don't really need his offense. The Bucks the last couple years with Middleton hurt most of the time they needed him to score a lot more than the Celtics have which shows considering he is averaging 6 less per game than last year.

c's fan here, i think since the 2022 finals the celtics have done amazing stuff and improved a lot, this year in the regular season it's been a blast when they are healthy and play good, maybe we can get the chip if the hospital celtics don't hit hard on the playoffs

The Bucks almost did also. They won by 2 points but of course no-one talks about that. The hate the Celtics get is just becoming corny at this point. They have the nicest chilliest guys too.

D White has been one of the more; if not MOST consistent players I've watched in a Celtics jersey. The dude is like a reliable truck that just keeps going. He has become one of my favorite players to see play on this team. Plus his defense is on a completely different playing field & comes at the best moments.
Glad to see KP doing really well on a great team. And also Jrue for landing on his feet in Boston. Bucks didn't expect him to be with a rival team

One note id like to add, at the end of your video you say we took away ball handling responsibilities for Jaylen brown because he had a lot of issues, he did have issues but it was the way we’re using him, he is in the top 5 in fast break points per game, he has been doing a fantastic job as our playmaker this year because Joe changed his pace of game, I think jrue allows him to relax more for sure but Joe and the new coaching staff changed his style of play for the better you can tell
True. But I would say Porzingis changed his game the most. And makes him feel comfortable sharing the ball more. Jaylen had been doing great. And the whole team will probably get even better as they go overall.

See a few years ago I said the Celtics need to stop trading and getting guards they had enough great guards but they struggled at the big position. I told my dad (him and I are big Boston fans) that all we need is a good 3 point shooting big that can still be a center and saying that KAT and porzingis are the best options for the Celtics few years later here we are
wouldnt be suprised if next year they were like the 2017 warriors, getting chemistry down w/ a couple off season signings for better depth, could be amazing
Considering the Warriors only lost 1 playoff game in 2017, that seems like a reach.
As a celtics fan, we say the same thing every season, i still need to examin the team during playoffs, hopefully we dont bottle it like every year

Outside of the obvious praise for the stars, Neemais coming off the bench is earning his stripes hella quick too, which is HUGE for a team whos arguably biggest weakness coming into the season was depth in the size department. Hes a 7 footer with quick feet and a high motor. Makes the loss of Rob less painful/noticable.
I dont think its necessarily championship or bust THIS season, but man if we dont get atleast one ring in the next 3 years I'm gonna be highly disappointed.
As a Bucks fan I wasn't sure about getting Dame but the fact that Jrue ended up going to Boston just made that trade a big L in my opinion. If the Bucks don't make it to the finals I would not even be mad if Celtics and Clippers played because I like watching those teams a lot right now.

Love been a Celtics fan. I’m from the UK and been an NFL fan for a years and support the pats so I chose the closest team to the pats. I’m glad I got the Cs. Been watching for 10 years so I’ve never witnessed a title. I hope this is the year man
I never liked the Celtics but I somehow feel it’s their turn to win the championship. I think they gonna win this year.
Their depth and defense is very very scary and the starting 5 is elite and if you have a strong bench good defense good starting 5 you are a great team

As a miami heat fan i just dont understand how teams like celtics can attract like 5 star players to their team and we struggle to bring just one star. I love my undrafted players and wouldnt want it otherwise but I just wonder how teams like celtics, clippers, brooklyn (not this year), can have so many stars.

They got rid of Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon and Time Lord and Grant Williams. They acquired Drue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to join JB, JT, Horford, Derrick White. YES all day long to the personnel moves. Coaching? Hmmmm. I think Mazzula is competent; if Udoka were still in charge I would say they are a lock for the championship. Getting Tatum and Brown to RELAX, stop dribbling to death and trust their team has been the biggest issue the Celtics have had for several years. There should be an award for guys like Derrick White. He's not an MVP but he is a candidate for DPOY. But that doesn't begin to describe his value. There should be like a "glue that holds the team together" award

GSW got too much backlash when they got KD and called them superteam and they created so many anti superteam rules because of that. But now 2023, against all rules, a superteam is born. So to NBA, not a superteam if not winning.

if you thought the bucks were gonna be better i'm sorry but you don't know hoops as well as you think you do. after the first game of the season i posted somewhere on youtube that i thought they'd challenge 70 wins, so frankly they're underperforming what i thought they'd do. the Cs are even or better at every position, and where they're better they're A LOT better.

as someone wise once said "you are what your record says you are." the celtics have had the best win-loss record for 90% of the season (with small blips losing it to the wolves). We are almost 30 games in so it's not a small sample size. they have had the toughest schedule to date and have had their fair share of injuries. they are the best team.
Hopefully our superstars can show up when it matters, because that has been a problem
@@joaohenriquedalpiaz8452 while i agree it has been a problem, especially with the Js shot selection, thankfully this year we dont have to rely on them. We have better shotmakers in KP and d.white. all it takes is for the Js and Joe to trust these 2 more. IMO if we win the chip this year, it'll be because of these 2.

I dont fully trust KP but i trust d.white. i trust d.white as much as i trusted tim duncan in his prime. thats how much of a good decision maker and untapped talent d.white is. of course, there will be games where Jrue takes us home, where JT just goes on a heater and JB cant be stopped as he redeems himself from the miami series. Thats the beauty of the team now. We have options. It doesnt have to be the same guy every night.

Jrue Holiday is good. Derek White is better. Honestly, I'm not 100# sure Derek White isn't the best player on the team. I'm very sure that if you asked Derek White to step up and score 25-30 every game, he could do it. He can also distribute the ball, make blocks and steals, and be a monster on both ends of the court. I was glad when my Celts got him. I thought he was a scrappy defender who could give us 5-10 points a game. He's been consistently great. It's like ordering the meatloaf dinner and getting prime wagyu steak.

Celtics have been one of the best teams if not the best team on paper these past seasons. And still, they flop on playoffs. I kinda want to see their efforts paid off, but then who is going to withstand the crazy Boston fans.

Like everyone else is commenting, Derrick white has been an absolute dawg this season. I’m so proud of his growth. Him and the addition of Jrue holiday and porzingis have made such a big difference this season. As long as kristaps stays healthy so we have somewhat of an answer for joker the Celtics should be the favorites for the championship. D white Jrue holiday gonna put the clamps on Jamaal Murray. We got rid of Marcus smart who wasn’t very smart with the ball. I just hope Jaylen brown doesn’t decide to try and dribble with his left hand and Joe mazulla knows when to call time outs to stop runs, or switch the game plan if the 3 ball ain’t droppin. Also so glad we got rid of grant Williams. He poked the bear when he trash talked Jimmy butler and then jimmy did himmy things. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and Tatum doesn’t roll his ankle. Praying to GOD kristaps stays healthy 🙏🏻. They already clinched. They should just keep that man in a bubble until the play offs start 😂
