Can't believe Probe didn't get Reptile's Force Ball sound, Sub-Zero's ice sound or Kintaro's loud roar in there. Even SNES had those, with 8 less Megabits to work with. Other than a dozen or so missing sound effects & the missing ending screens (which the SNES had too), this was a very good version to have & improved on the Genesis version in just about every way. Nice video
This version had so much potential to be the closest thing to the arcade at home but it feels like Probe rushed it. Last year was the first time I ever played the 32X version and I was very impressed. I appreciated the support amigo! Thank you 🙏🏽
Also the missing growling of the trees in the living forest and no accurate Liu Kang bicycle kick sound always bothered me with the Sega ports... They added two, three screams and the names for 32X, but the rest sounds just like the regular Genesis version.
I had the 32x and I had this game too when I was a teenager. These games cost peanuts back in around 1999 as the 32x was a failed system. Today they cost a fortune .
To this day I still have never seen or played on a 32X hardware. I was a pre-teen when it came out and I was a Nintendo kid. I’m planning on owning one along with MK2 bcuz I think the game is really good but yes, they are really expensive now.
@pixelcease when you adjust for inflation I'm curious how much a fully loaded Genesis would cost with all the add ons and 2 6 button controllers, like $900? That's a big investment dude
At those prices you might as well cheat and emulate it or you could get the PS2 version on Midway Treasures, which is arcade perfect, there are also Arcade1up MKII cabs, some have 14 Midway and Atari games on them. Paperboy was originally an Atari game released for arcades in 1985 and later for NES, Genesis, etc. and it's on the Arcade1up Midway cabs and the new one at Costco with Golden Tee golf games and Midway/Atari games, and it has a trackball and Paperboy can be played with the trackball.
veeery nice!!!yeah there is no denying it,the 32x version regardless when it came out and that you had to own 2 different pieces of hardware to play , was very impressive from a technical standpoint!great video bro!
I have yet to play on an actual 32X to this day, as a kid in the 90's I only heard about it. I didn't know MK2 was even on it until years later. Early this year was my first time experiencing it and I was amazed of how much better it is than the Genesis and even the SNES. I want to--I need to add a 32X to my collection now. Thanks for the love brotha!
This is the first game I owned on the 32x. I felt like it was rushed and the hardware was way more capable. And this is not the remastered version. But good content
@@tacutn6 yes, it’s not the remastered version. This one just improves the color palette a bit. I have the arcade version but I can’t get it to run on the Genesis mini. I’m trying to figure it out. Anyways thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

I think if sega of Japan would've let sega of America take responsibility of the 32x project it would've been different. It would've pitted them in a competition. It would have forced them to make the 32x count. They say it was a gap filler between 16bit and 32bit for the people that didn't want to lose their 16bit library. It would have drove them to make sure quality games were made... at least the ones like mk2 nba jam te doom... hell look at virtual fighter. And it was rushed. I know video games can only do so much but I've always thought it was a mistake like when the bodies cut in half of when the head is chopped off for them to stay standing there
32x version was a good version, but the genesis sfx coupled with the better arcade like sounds was very jarring, while some sfx are better, the old ones are still the same and it creates a soundspace that doesn't make sense. SNES's sounds all belong together as one piece of the greater package, so it still doesn't top the SNES version.
I can’t disagree with you on that! The more I play the SNES version the more impressed I get for being a 16 bit console and delivering an almost arcade perfect game. I appreciate you watching my friend 🫡🙏
@@pixelcease 32X isn't a console though, it's just an assisting tool. 32X is good, looks good, but the Genesis and 32X SFX don't belong in the same game. It would have been better to choose just the Genesis SFX instead of adding arcade SFX, or just using all arcade SFX. That's the thing about sound design, the sounds have to belong in the same 'universe' so to speak.
I've been playing this on my recapped 32X with Mega SD and MD+ H4ck, unfortunately it's not perfect, almost perfect but I happened to encounter a small freeze while playing it, same with DOOM resurrection which it frozen my game and IDK if I have to clean the cartridge contacts and so my Mega SD is brand new, oh well I hope there's a fix oversoon
no crowd cheer on kintaro's stage is VERY disappointing..i thought this what better than the snes but it actually isn't considering the power of the 32x
Funny how minor details changes the game and yes I agree it’s disappointing since considering the 32X power and potential. It was bottlenecked by the Genesis hardware.
That’s a tough one for me after playing both versions over and over. I’ll say the Sega version plays a bit smoother but the missing audio and frames makes me enjoy the SNES version much more! 😊 Thank you for watching amigo! 😏🙏
I enjoy watching people play these games but throwing is a huge part of my game it takes away a lot of energy and Shang tsung is nearly impossible to throw so I wish some drawings would be done. I can count on two hands of the times I threw Shang tsung while he threw me hundreds if not thousands of times
The disadvantage of 32x still is that it has/had to work with the sega genesis in the background. So the genesis with it's shitty colour pallet still makes the backgrounds look bland.
You're are correct! The Genesis held this port from it's true potential but when compared to the Genesis version, it's superior with the added animations and sounds.
I have this version of the game and as far as I’m concerned, it sucks. The arcade is much better. Try playing it on PlayStation 3 as a download. It is the traditional version of the game.
This ultimate version barely enhances the vanilla 32X version. The music is trash, animations are still missing, the backgrounds are barely an improvement over the SNES. All this does better is screen resolution and gameplay speed. The 32X version should’ve been arcade perfect from the start and this hack should’ve done that

I own the SNES version, and it SUCKS. The sprites are crushed to Hell. The Genesis had twice as fast a CPU, allowing for much bigger, clearer characters.
@DontrelleRososevelt The Genesis version does play faster but it’s missing a lot of content, now the 32X version is much closer to the arcade.
