I bought my paint etc. from B&Q today having heard what the boss of Wickes thinks of me. I was however disappointed to hear the in-store announcement that they too are supporting pride month. I struggle to see what there is to be proud about. Tolerance is one thing, accepting it as normal and something to be proud of is another.

I think the real reason was not disclosed in Ratner's case. It was just a joke, but the whole British establishment came down on him in a coordinated way. Where it is LGBT craap the same establishment will promote him. It's probably why the toerag said it.
Yes - At a filmed event, Ratner said something like : "People ask how we sell these earrings for 99p - well, it's because they're crap". So he alienated his lucrative low-budget customers. The rest is history as is Ratners.
