I have a 1979 300SD Turbo Diesel Mercedes... I'm always having trouble with the windows. I'm friends with the previous owner, and she tells me to just pop off the panel and turn some switch.... your video makes it look a whole lot more complicated then just popping off the panel !!! Now, I'm really glad I didn't just "pop" off the panel !!!!!
Michele0403 Yes there are many little hidden screws all over the door, and if it's been just "popped off" previously, it's probably got a few broken tabs on the panel.
Thanks for this video. I need to remove the driver side rear door panel. You mentioned that the rear door panels take more work to remove. Would you please expound on what I need to look for? Are there more screws and plastic clips? Where should I be looking for them? Thanks.
Can you make a video on how to get the window motor out? I have detached the motor from the regulator and got the regulator out but the motor wont come out as there is a bar in the middle of the door.
If I remember correctly you have to slide the motor to the front of the door and there should be a certain hole in the door that it slides out of perfectly
@@jacobosmer98 Hmm, There seems to be no hole except at the bottom of the door. I have a W116 1980 300SD but i just realized my door looks a bit different and doesn't have any holes. Thanks!
@@tyd2281 from going out there and looking at it I'm pretty sure the door strap housing you have to unbolt it and drop it down and the motor will come out
@@jacobosmer98 Okay thanks I will check that out. The motor does get stuck on that at the bottom so I will try taking it out. I read online "US cars have the door impact beams which make it impossible to remove the motor/regulator assembly without removing the front window track."

This helps me a lot...thanks

That one little screw I removed at the top of the door for the bolster, there are two more, for the rear of the door around the perimeter.
Great, thanks!
