    I snagged this exact unit around the 4th of July. I played one round and there was a random hair that was inside the lens. After one round. Got ahold of their customer service team and they set up and exchange super fast. Great customer service. As for the performance for under $300 I would put this up against any high end range finder! I’m glad I didn’t spend as much on Bushnell or something else. The Blue Tees works just fine for me!

      Same here, they got me during their Father's day sale marketing push. I would agree, 150 yards, plays 1.5 yards short. Not an issue because it's accurate every time. Lense is clear, zoom and focus is solid. Zero regrets buying this range finder. PXG club owner, so you know I don't buy cheap.

    I bought myself one of these in early July. I've probably played about 15 rounds with it and I like it. Prior to buying the blue tees I had only tried cheap rangers finders that friends had. I've been pretty happy with my purchase. I definitely get a sense of relief having this with me every round I play.
    The magnet works great for the cart. I've definitely tried to bounce the cart around a bit and had no luck losing my blue tees lol.
    As far as the batteries go I'm still running my first battery. Being my first range finder I'm not sure what to expect for battery life. If I can get through a summer of playing once or twice a week without needing to replace the battery then I'm more than happy with that.
    Thank you for the review and comparing it to other rangefinders! Good to know I've got a fairly accurate device.

    Do the instructions include how to open the box? Very nice range finder! The magnet on the case and the toggle switch for the slope is a really cool feature.

      I don’t know but I need those for sure 🤣

    This thing looks cool. I like the "chrome" pieces and toggle switch for slope seems like a nice improvement than switching through the modes.

    You brushed past the clip that goes on the device. For those of us who walk and want to keep play expedited, is that to hang directly on the bag so you don't have to fiddle with the case every time?

    Where do you aim the crosshairs on my blue tees 3 max? Top or middle of flag? Thanks

    Just seen this video after entering the BLUE TEES Rangefinder. Very informative, as I just picked one up used for $50. I think I found a great deal.

    Just curious what makes it 3.5 out of 5 for you when it was nearly identical (most of us casuals likely can't dial in the difference of 2-3 yards on approach shots anyway) to the other two units? I was anticipating you would have said 4 or 4.5 when the specs are comparable and the price is much better.

    I'd be very curious as to, how long is the battery life, if they have included 3.
    Just seems odd.

    I recently bought the player pack. The 3max seemed like the slope level was off so I used an accurate laser level to mark a spot on a tree 50yards out. Holding the range finder at the same height and shooting the same spot on the tree the slope was off by 3 degrees. They replaced the unit, but the new one is still off by 2degrees…….anyone else have this problem. It kind of makes the slope feature useless.

      Seems like this a common comments about these BlueTees 3 Max units. Though most people would not take the time to actually measure its accuracy.

    Gabe, looking forward to another "What's In Your Bag" video. Golf season is winding down. I'm curious to know if any Let's Play Thru viewers are finding any good discounted deals out there yet as some of the newer merchandise starts to arrive.

      Gosh I hope so, golf equipment has gotten so expensive even the used stuff.

  • @shmirginhymer1867
    @shmirginhymer1867 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You're using two rangefinders that are "more expensive" as the baseline of being correct. Could be the other way around? 🤷 Either way, Blue Tees is the way to go.

    Hi Gabe
    Great review. looking to purchase my first rangefinder. I am considering between the Blue Tees or Bushnell V?

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Build quality on the Bushnell is top notch. Price might be a little better on the Blue Tees. So just depends on what you value more.

    Hi Gabe, G'day from down under! I 'have just ordered two of 3 Max today with my mate. Thanks for your detailed review which I think it's the best review of 3 Max rangefinder right now! one more thing I would like to kindly ask is that how would you rate the quality of the new case? I can see it's not a nylon material and it looks like it's synthetic leather? do you think it's got a solid quality and will be durable for hanging on my golf bag? and how strong is that case's magnet clip? I was looking at your review and I thought hmmm I may need the old case??

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the new case better. Magnet and materials seem solid.

    Which of those 3 is your favourite? Is the stabilizer feature on the Nikon worth the price premium?

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m going to be doing a video breaking down on what I like and dislike about each in the next couple weeks. I will give a number one overall winner for sure. To answer your question about the stabilizer it wouldn’t be worth it for me. However for someone who has really shaky hands, it would be really useful.

    My buddy has a Blue Tees rangefinder and the casing on it feels, for the lack of a better word, cheap. It looks as this unit does have that same look. Would you agree? I like that they give 3 batteries. My experience with the batteries is that they don't last real long so I always pick up a Duracell or Energizer and go ahead to replace it. They last much longer than the enclosed batteries. Speaking of batteries, that battery door cover concerns me. Not just for the potential to have water seep in, but it looks kind of flimsy as well. I will say the optics were good and they seem pretty accurate for the price point.

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the materials are exactly the same as the previous generation from what I can tell. Yeah the battery door could definitely use a little more protection in my opinion.

      For what it's worth I game the blue tees 2 that gabe gave me 2 rounds a week for about 6 months and I'm rough on it. I toss it on the ground when it's path only, I toss it on the dash or in the cubby of the cart, I've played in rain. I have had no issues.

    I use the Inesis as it's really good value over here.

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They also make clubs right? I wish we had there here

    • @thehairygolfer
      @thehairygolfer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LetsPlayThru Clubs and balls. I've played the Inesis Tour 900 3 piece. It's a little firmer than a Pro V more of a Pro V1x. It's scuffs a bit but you're going to lose it anyway so who cares? And it costs 40% less over here for a dozen. They do gloves and shoes too. So much cheaper than main brands.
      I think they ship to the US but that's not cheap.

    • @LetsPlayThru
      @LetsPlayThru  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that’s fantastic. I like the Kirkland balls over here on this side as well for that same reason. You made a good point about durability. So many people complain that they can’t get 18 holes out of a ball but how many actually would anyways? And if you lose 3 Kirklands or scuff them up, it’s still cheaper than a pro V1.

    • @thehairygolfer
      @thehairygolfer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LetsPlayThru I usually get 3 or 4 rounds out of a ball before I lose it or retire it to the practice bag. So durability doesn't really matter. Or just play away from bunkers! That makes them last a lot longer.
      My normal ball is a Pro V1 pearl grade lake ball but I've won about 9 dozen new ones so haven't bought the lake balls for quite a while.
      I also go looking for balls down the right side of a few holes after a practice session. If I find 4 Pro Vs that keeps me going for 10 to 14 rounds.

    Device is not accurate. Scan the flag 3 times from the same location and you will get four different measurements within 1-6 yards.
