This is the only take that matters. It is a flawless song. The transition in the first breakdown as the darkness envelops the lyrics and the song… insane
@@fiend265x I feel like if they were cooked after the departure of their main guitarist. they haven't shared any new music since their last album, and if you check the stuff connor has been working since then, you can clearly see he had a HUGE influence in their sound. not downgrading the other artist since some of them are pretty good too, but it's curious to me how everything has evolves. currently craving and extremely curious how this follows up. I am sure i'm not the only one that feels the same!
They went on Instagram live yesterday and were saying they enjoy your reactions man! They said a new album is coming next year and that it’s finished. The release strategy will be fairly normal but don’t want to drop a bunch of singles so that by the time the album is out you’ve heard most of it. They want release day to be surprising and exciting. They were also saying this is the most fun and exciting direction they’ve gone in and that they’ve taken a slight step back from trying to incorporate a style (in a fashion sense), sound, video and themes and just trying to let the music do the talking. Love you and love thorny. Song absolutely slaps 🤘🏻if there’s anything else I can remember will add comments xx
They've been playing this on their current tour and it goes so fucking hard. Also for the question: Blue Velvet, as their Heroine album was what got me into them.
@@paraweld9838 Yeah, I wish they would play it on their current EU tour. I'm seeing them soon, and no Butterfly and only the big hits from TDP is kinda sad.. :((
limbo will forever be my all time favourite thorny song- it was the first one I ever heard by them and it goes off live. (even if they haven't played it since 2018)
those two new songs are bringing me back in love with this band. they've been on repeat for the whole week going to work. keep them tracks coming and please thornhill we want an album like this 🙌
I love that most of the band's songs have two parts, one where the sound is dirty, loud and "disorderly" and another where the sound becomes harmonious, triumphant, almost ethereal, that's what made me love them.
I want to say they said Viper Room and Obsession are standalone singles and won’t be on the new album, I don’t remember where they said this so uhhh take it with a grain of salt lmao
So NERV is the lead single then? That’s a good sign. This is such a solid song. Obsession was awesome. Viper Room was too whiney and had the flamboyance that I don’t think is their strong suit…. This new Numetal direction is promising!!
@@BulletProofBaconi think they mentioned that Viper room was a song made for their new line of clothing that they had released, i like viper room but they clearly wanted to write something specific for the clothing brand
The Hellfire Club is my favorite Thornhill track of all time and one of my favorite songs of all time. still get chills every listen. This and Obsession have me hella pumped for the album.
That's a hard question it answer because I like both their heavy and sadder/melancholic side too. Maybe something like Joy or Where We Go When We Die, but I also love tracks like My Design, or that transition between The Haze and Red Summer, and I've always been partial to and absolutely loved that interlude All the Light We Don't See into Lily & the Moon. Their two stand alone singles Limbo and Temperer were really good too. I just really like their sound I guess, especially cause for some it has always reminded me of Loathe (like from The Cold Sun), films of David Lynch (especially the music used in his films by Angelo Badalamenti r.i.p.), or game soundtracks like that of the Rusty Lake/Cube Escape series. Something kind of dark or noir, but also sad and melancholic. I absolutely love that vibe 🤘
They played this live on their recent tour, one of the few times a band has done a new song and everyone was insta moshing, riffs were wild live like limp bizkit punch to the face
The Haze. Something about that song just sends me, its like i'm floating when i listen to it. Hits my heart so nicely. This song, is easily the best thing since the Dark pool. i did like some songs from Heroin, but this is a great direction.
Really great mix of styles on this track. I may have to try Thornhill again. Listening to Inertia almost on the daily still since their last album, Thornhill sounds so similar and it hits! He did feature on one of Inertia's best tracks, I guess it was right there lol
So when I saw them live I spoke with the drummer and asked about their future plans and he said they're definitely going way heavier and that most of what they've been doing lately is experimental just for fun.
Really feel like the whole aesthetic and early grunge feels like early Silverchair. Super Australian, 4:3 aspect ratio icons, sort of a deftones feel too
Dunno if anyone remembers this band, but there was a band FOREVER ago called Far-Less that wrote a song called "A Toast To Bad Taste." this REALLY reminds me of that song lol
I assume it could be weird for lots, but my favorite song by them is All the Light We Don't See, it's just so unique. OR Lavender, depends on mood I guess. They have a lot of cool songs indeed
Heard them and this song yesterday in glasgow, the song live, just them live, i was like in the centre of the room/crowd, just a bit back from the centre pit, and i swear, the vibrations, of the bass and guitar alone, they were jellyfying my legs, it was like nothing else, imo they sounded better then make them suffer who played right after them, i love this band too ofc But honestly, thornhill, they are one of the best bands going right now, easily There songs sound soo good live, wish id seen them live sooner, good night, n this track, especially the end, the end played live... Hooo dang, its just classy ass hard metal rock experimental shiz 😎
Coven might be my favorite, with Raw and Obsession right behind, but I loved all of Butterfly, DP, and Heroine, so I've been eating good. Easily my favorite core band of this generation
I didn’t even think about banks Arcade until you mentioned it. Maybe sounds like a cross between banks Arcade and void of vision maybe? I can’t figure it out
Such a banger imo. That vocal delivery in the verse somehow reminds me of Saliva. Also my favorite song is Red Summer for sure. Edit: the Saliva song I’m thinking of specifically is Your Disease.
Favourite Thornhill song might be Human. Red Summer, Lily and the Moon, Arkangel, Hollywood, Joy and WWGWWD are also highlights for me! Also I enjoyed the fuck out of nerv, especially live. The numetal elements are so exciting to me, I love how bouncy and vibey it is, yet also has that beautiful Thornhill staple chorus. The drumming right before the second chorus too, my god... They genuinely can't make a bad song.
Where We Go When We Die is a top 5 all time song. The ending always gives me chills.
My pick too, the ending made me cry when I first heard it. Absolutely perfect closer song, 10/10, no notes
The Dark Pool is a masterpiece, no bad song, you listen to the whole thing, its a journey
I was about to write the same comment haha
This is the only take that matters. It is a flawless song. The transition in the first breakdown as the darkness envelops the lyrics and the song… insane
Red Summer ending > Where We Go When We Die ending in my opinion
The last 45 seconds of Where We Go When We Die is up there with the best pieces of music ive ever heard.
That, and the final drop in red summer are both insane. Chills every single time
This reminded me of that 2010s,2000s mix feel
Lily & The Moon. As a dog owner, I just can't choose otherwise.
Jacob said during a show of their current headline tour that a new album is coming !
Im with you
Same bro, one my dogs passed away recently and I re-listened to that song... it was a mistake
My dog was called lily, lily and the moon hits different
"Joy" is such a slept on banger man

Blue Velvet is my favourite. Beatiful piece of art.

Also for the question: Blue Velvet, as their Heroine album was what got me into them.
Obsession, Where We Go.., basically entire Butterfly EP, Nurture. I just love all of them.
I feel like Nuture doesn't get enough love, even though it has one of the highest stream counts on spotify. Its my personal favorite off TDP

"We're so back" is exactly what I said when I first listened as well as"NuMetal is so back" and it's so real
The haze. That riff at the start just brings you into a new and epic world
Red Summer is the best thornhill song dont @ me
Yes! The build up is absolutely amazing. I still get chills and almost cry every time I hear that song.
That song is godly, so much so that I even used it in one of my videos
YOU’RE SO RIGHT
The delivery in the buildup + outro is peak
The correct extended answer is The Haze crushing outro sequence INTO red summer
Views from the Sun is my favourite song by them and also my favourite riff.
The first verse with the dreamy accent singing in the back gives me very much Moodring vibes, super sick
I’ve always heard so much Deftones in Thornhill and this is no different.
So good.
THIS is now my favorite thornhill song, goddamn
That clean section really reminds me of Muse.
Ok just found out they actually covered Muse on Like A Version, that explains.
Most of their album Heroine is very inspired by Muse
limbo will forever be my all time favourite thorny song- it was the first one I ever heard by them and it goes off live. (even if they haven't played it since 2018)
Views from the sun goes so hard
Coven and Red Summer are my favorites, both absolute bangers. The riff after the first chorus of Coven is so goddamn good
"Coven" and "Lily and the Moon" are the best imo, but "Nerv" just make me destroy the replay button

I watched Thornhill's Instagram livestream after they dropped this song and THEY MENTIONED BOGDAN BY NAME. Bogdan aura unmatched.
This song honestly might be my song of the year
Let's gooo! I called it about Bogdanhxc enjoying it on the original video 😅
Arkangel was the first I heard from them and it's still my favourite. Such a fun song. Also this song slaps live

where we go when we die, reptile or anything of the dark pool all so good

reptile my favorite, anything on dark pool tbh
My fav is Arkangel, introduced me to them along with casanova and is just so many vibes

Lily & The Moon easily. But man, what a band. I’m in love with everything they have dropped. Thornhill makes some of my favorite music ever.

That vocal delivery in the verse reminds me of old school Beastie Boys or 311. It's crazy to hear these old music trends coming back around.
3:17 it reminds me of I See Stars new stuff
