I remember landing in Shanghai very well. It was August 2023, my first flight in my life. Our vessel was flying to the Pudong airport from Moscow. It was early morning, our plane was very high in the sky and the sun was shining bright. I looked at the window and saw pure blue sky above and clouds below, which were like fluff, it was a vast fluff ocean and so thick that nobody could see the ground. Then our plane dived into this fluff ocean and we suddenly got into the grey-looking atmosphere, with the black ground, silver bays and rivers and with hundred thousands of houses looking like small grains from above (just like what's on video, the views were absolutely the same). It was my first time to see China, my first foreign country back then. When I realised it I felt a mixed feeling, it was excitement, impression, helplessness and numbness. The houses, the highways with cars running them, hundreds squares of fields, wind turbines, water canals; ah, what a stupendous labour was invested into all of these! Then we landed in Pudong and I set off for my business. Sorry, my comment may be very boring but when I came across your video I felt such a blazing flashback, the views you shot in the video were absolutely the same, as if I was flying in that plane again. Thank you for the video.
Man, they landed in the boonies... not even close to the terminal. The only time this happened to me was when I was flying back to the USA via HKG. My airplane had to turn around and make an emergency landing back in Pudong. The plane was so far out that it took busses over 30 minutes to get to the plane and buss everyone to the terminal.
The quarantine was ceased in January. But people still need a PCR negative report issued within 48 hours before departure for boarding a plane to China.

And it was a long walk from boarding bridge to customs.
😂😂😂 I tought they were taking all the way to your hotel.😂😂😂
I should have ticked the option when booking 😀 but too expensive
9:36 took them long enough to acknowledge mandarin. I know Cathay are from Hong Kong but still
Fair enough
Did the borders reopen and did they cease the 2 week quarantine before they can enter Shanghai?

What airlines?
Cathay Pacific
Ugliest airport ever
Did you have an awful experience there? :(
