- This is by far my favorite bait to use when i want to catch channel catfish. I have caught them up to about 11lbs and plenty in the 1-10lb range.

I used to use pretty much all Magic Bait products Ol Wiskers, Great Scott, Hog Wild etc... Till one day I met Danny King at my local bait and tackle shop. He was there introducing his bait and talking with customers. I got to talking with him and he was showing me some pictures of the catfish he had caught on it. I was like damn this bait is awesome, but in the back of my mind I was skeptical, but I went ahead and bought a quart of the original any way. I went out that weekend and actually put it up against the Magic Bait.
I baited up three rods with the Danny King's and three rods with the Magic Bait, I didn't even get as much as a peck on the Magic Bait. But with the Danny King's on the other hand, channels and blues both were hitting it like I was fishing with cocaine. That was back in 2004 as far as commercial catfish baits go I have use it exclusively since then. This bait is truly awesome.

I was looking for catfish bait online one day and read some reviews on Danny Kings and decided to buy the blood flavor. I went out to a lake and fished with my two buddies that loved to use chicken liver. I out fished them not only that day, but everyday I went out fishing with them. Stuff works wonders!!!!!

Get all three flavors, one on each pole and whichever one is getting the most action that particular day change the other two poles to that flavor. That's what I do.
Does any one flavor work better then the other? I bought all 3 flavors myself but I'm giving one to a friend but really would like to keep the 2 flavors that work best. 😆
@@arnoldnunez7160 Really depends , some lakes and rivers one might be better than the other. Just depends on the body of water. Around here the blood and original work better. If you like bluecat I would keep the blood for sure cause it does seem to catch more bluecat just about every where I have used it.
It works great behind the spillways on a slip cork fishing about a foot off the bottom and just let it drift but the amount of water coming out has to be just right you don't want it moving too fast .
Original is the best! Sometime I add a lil wool fiber to it. I keep some old gloves as bait gloves, mix it well and crush the cheese chunks up, form into a ball and stuff my treble hook in the bait forming a nice shape. I've caught all sizes from lil 1-2lbs on up to 15lb blues and flats. Works great in the river! I think Danny Kings is up for sale.
Just the other day I caught my personal best channel cat,it was 8lb 2oz,I was using the original but will be trying the others as well,awesome video man

cut a strip of a wash cloth, put it on the hooks. It will hold the bait pretty well, plus if your bait comes off the bait in the cloth still works.

I use it with a#4 treble on bottom and I do well at the lake

I’ve never tried prepared bait we’ve had success with cut fish or peeler crab . It surprises me how many we get on lures

This bait is a bunch of shit I don't know where this person on this vedio got his Danny king bait from but the Danny king bait I brought at academy was shitty it was runny and had big pieces of chicken skins in it I didn't even get a bite on that shit !!!!! and I had the small size it was a mess it has grease or oil sitting in the jar with the chicken skins I will never buy any more of Danny king shitty bait again !!!!!!
Don't listen to that negative Nancy. He likes to complain anytime someone mentions punch bait. He just sucks at fishing.
I have some in original. Sat out for an hour and my buddy caught a channel on crawlers while I got nothing and we were sitting right next to each other. I'm going to give it another time because an hour isn't terribly long but so far its 0-1.
First off thank you for stopping by I greatly appreciate it. I have fished a lot of places and have used this bait for years. It is very effective and your totally right. You can not judge the bait from only using it for an hour or so. The more times you throw the bait in the same spot the more effective it is. The bite will be slow at first, but if there are channel cats around, they will hit it!!!! Thanks again and have an awesome day/night

So I live in westpoint georgia so it's too Wal mart I can go too around me would they have it
Not saying this bait sucks becuase ive seen lots of people catch cats with it here on youtube. I have never caught a fish with it unfortunatly. It stayed on hook good when i 1st got it but after 2 weeks or so it wouldnt stay on the hook any more.
You just have to keep it cold and try to compact it on the hook and you will slay em. Use a slip bobber rig with this bait!

its not as bad when its cold but for the most part, yea it smells terrible but the thing is, it works! I literally just caught a channel cat maybe an hour ago and i had 3 poles out. Live sucker, cut sucker and danny kings. thanks for watching "Mark Hannan" like and subscribe!
Didn't work for me not a bite so I threw it in the trash.
I would never touch Danny Kings that is a smell you can't wash off. I will always use a stick and swirl the bait around the hook! but I have had a cat eat a bare hook after it had been dipped in already!

Buy cjs and you won't have to get stinky ,that's the whole purpose of it being made as punch bait ,cjs stays on your hook if it's cold or hot outside

I have had good luck fishing Danny kings on bottom not on a Cork
+Wes Harden I would have to say I catch slightly more fish on a slip bobber compared to bottom. NONE the less, I catch those channels on both types of rigs

Joseph Loudermilk keep it in your freezer or bring it with you cold and bring a rag as well and you will be good. When you cast it in the water don't reel it at all unless your REELING in because your right it does come off easy especially if there's current but man it works amazing everywhere I go. I bought the smaller size (academy) and it worked pretty well. So, I went bought the gallon size and it's not staying on the hook. It'll dissolve within minutes. Plus, the gallon they shipped to me looked like scraps. A LOT of chicken skin. Very disappointed. I won't be buying any Danny King stuff again.
The gallon I got doesn't look solid like this youtuber.
KennyT yes like I said it is difficult for it to stay on the hook that's why you need to keep it cold or have it frozen before you head out and use it. That's what I do and that is the con with the bait but the pro is the stuff works very very well and I have caught catfish from all different bodies of water and have been very successful with it. I am so sorry to hear about your experience with the product
JoshGreenAdventures I tried everything. I used gloves to put it on. I used corn starch and dryer lint to thicken it up. Nothing worked for the gallon size. I had much better luck with the small size from academy. Also, the cats don't bite them as much on the gallon size then the smaller size. I think they shipped me a scrap gallon. It's not mixed solid like it's supposed to be. A lot of pieces of skin and cattail. I wish I can post a picture on here. I think I got ripped off. I used small treble hooks.
I used the smaller size in the summer and didn't have a problem. It's supposed to be better in the winter, not worse.
KennyT try to make sure the bait is cold and while yuou ball it on your treble hook try squeezing the bait with a rag. That should help! If not then I would return. Once again sorry to hear

lol about 5 pounds try again buddy more like 1 pound and that was your big one. SMH 😰. I've had much better luck and caught much bigger catfish on cj's monster punch bait, at academy. IMHO.
Reginald Malain that last one was 4.8 or 4.9lbs. First two weren't even close to 2lbs. I was fishing mid day and still caught them. I am open to constructive criticism but not anybody that's going to be rude. I've caught up to 10 pound catfish on Danny kings and this was only one trip out. I wanted everyone to see that you can catch catfish with this bait even mid day. I have never used Cj's but have heard a lot of good reviews. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.
