Jose Garcia I do. I didn’t mean there was no culture, just not one defined, deep rooted culture. Because California has so many immigrants, the race and culture has become very diverse and mixed. California is also one of the only states without an accent while other states all have their unique ones. Hope my original comment didn’t come out wrong and this explanation made sense

Elicorn California...California does have an accent? There is a slight difference between NorCal and SouthCal but yeah Cali people have a pretty distinct accent-which (if you can’t hear it) you can usually find on accent comps here in TH-cam. Maybe you can’t hear it/detect it because it is the “standard” accent most people use on TV and movies (naturally because Hollywood is in Cali). I am an outsider and we do make fun of y’all accent all the time lol.

The panseiku reminds me of the Indian savory we have that is "chikki" . Chikki is made mainly with jaggery and peanuts and and it's lipsmacking XO.

Why so many nut based snacks? What about a good tèrt, ko'i lechi, those homemade sweet lollipops, kokada, lèter, rep'i pampuna, boyo, mankaron, sunchi, kakiña, pan dushi, sticky cinnamon rolls with shaved coconut?? Or more savory snacks? I do hope they give Chris a chance to showcase more foods of our island, because we have so much to to offer!

I liked that Alvin (American) chose snacks unique to his particular to his upbringing. American snacks are so globalized that it isn't all that interesting to hand trade a bag of Lays or a Snickers bar when almost anyone from around the world could find it at their local store.

The ham and cream cheese roll ups are served in the South with crushed pineapple. Mix the crushed pineapple with cream cheese, spread that on ham slices and roll them up.
