I wanted to post some wear test thoughts on a few of the products here! (This was filmed over a week ago so a few of them I’ve tried multiple times now)
The skin tint is growing on me! The coverage is definitely light and it’s prone to pilling but it looks extremely natural and radiant.
The Danessa Myricks contour balm is much warmer than I would like. I tried it under foundation the other day and it looked quite messy. I need to keep playing with it.
I don’t think I’m a fan of the Milk primer but I’m going to try it a few more ways to be sure. I’ve noticed my concealer gathering in patches when I wear it.
The ABH Brow Freeze still isn’t fully holding my brows but it’s actually starting to grow on me. I’m enjoying the way my brows look even if it wasn’t the way I intended to use the product.
I’m really enjoying the palette so far! And the other products I need to test more! Stay tuned for my next speed reviews. XOXO

The ABH Brow Freeze I had the same issue at first then I watched a video on insta on how they used it and it worked out better for me. She took a small bit out and place it on the top of cap. They really worked the spoolie into the product before applying to the brows and then lightly pressed with finger. Only thing I do different is I clean the edges up with a qtip. So the makeup around goes on better.

The Laura Mercier eye primer is really good, it comes in several shades and is opaque. It’s best to apply and blend ONE EYE AT A TIME because it sets up FAST.

I totally understand why eye primer doesn’t work on your undereyes. Most of them (and the UD one definitely is) are supposed to be drying to prevent creasing on oily eyelids. That’s why concealer isn’t working for a lot of people, as concealer should be hydrating, as the under eye area normally tends to be dry.
I think you can only use the sane product if you have non oily, rather dry eyelids and a very plump, hydrated undereye area.

    • @laynasnow8550
      @laynasnow8550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes! And eye primers are for powder products. Most people use a liquid concealer. I think a regular hydrating face primer would work better!

I love the NYX bare with me tinted skin veil. It's perfect for my dehydrated combo skin - it's not overly glowy, has a rather satin finish, which is not super common with tinted moisturisers, but doesn't cling to my dry patches at all. Highly recommend!

  • @lisaha5565

I haven't tried the brow freeze myself, but Covergirl's easy breezy brow has THE most hold out of any gel I've ever used. It is not in fact easy breezy, the brush is terrible and applies too much, but the formula itself is GOLD. If you don't mind scraping off most of the gel before you apply then you can get superior hold without a lot of product weighing down your brows.

    • @kleague41

I totally agree! I tried CG's brow gel then Essence's, and I was all where's the product?! I like Essence's brow gel now, it was just such a vast difference from CG's!

I guess this is why there are SO many successful makeup brands, we all have different skin types. But, I'm bad about only giving a product one chance, and giving up on it. (I don't want to have a bad makeup day!) So I think I need to learn to give products more chances!

I was late to the Pillow Talk fever myself, but I found a perfect dupe for the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat liner. It's Dollar General's Long Lasting Lip Liner in Barely There. It's an exact color match and the formula is very close,-- not quite as creamy as Pillow Talk. But I did half my lips in Dollar General and the other half in Pillow Talk. You cannot tell the difference. And it's only $3.00!

I absolutely love the Saie Skin Tint ! As someone who has extremely sensitive skin that reacts to just about everything, this has been lovely for my skin. I love the natural coverage and glow it gives me and it never pills or emphasises my pores/ texture. I go in with a fuller coverage concealer (I use the Pat McGrath) and the overall effect is lovely. So interesting how we have different experiences !!

I’ve had the milk makeup eye primer sitting in my Sephora cart list waiting for the sale specifically to try it as an under eye primer for concealer since I love the face primer so much, so I’m caught this video and I’ve seen a few others as well that also weren’t thrilled with it for that purpose so I think I’m going to take it out to maybe be have a little more wiggle room for something more fun ☺🙂, also, I was totally thrilled with the undertone on me when I tried pillow talk so you’re not alone ☺😉

I like the ABH brow freeze but I’ve experienced the same thing you do. I have long, thick, coarse brow hairs. I’ve noticed it holds best when I’ve let my skin prep completely dry.. over 30 min. You can also try taking a qtip with makeup remover thru/around your brows so the brow freeze has a clean surface to adhere to. Honestly the nyx brow glue holds my hairs better but can get messy. I apply that with the spoolie it comes with then I use a clean spoolie to work the product thru and that’s given me the best results

It would be fun if you did your favorite product in each category for the year at the end of the year. So far my favorite eyeshadow palette is.., well… it’s close between Natasha Denona Zendo, or the Too Faced Cinnamon Swirl palette. The Nd Retro palette is good but not good enough to beat out those two! Best blush of the year, and highlighter of the year Id have to give it to
Nars Orgasm on the Beach palette. I do like the holiday 6 pan palette too from nars but I like Orgasm on the beach better. Best bronzer, too faced haute chocolate (matte). No! Maybe it would be Hoola Glow! Oh man it would be hard to pick only 1 from each category!

The ABH Brow product - you really have to follow the directions. Make sure your spoolie is completely clean each time. Scoop out a small amount and put on the top of the lid and then reseal the product immediately. Then spin your spoolie in the product from the top of the lid and apply using a spinning motion. I usually apply in the wrong direction then spin upwards. But I do believe the instructions are paramount as to its efficacy. Personally? It's too finicky for me to use. I have tried Patrick Ta's brow lamination too and it was SO CLOSE but left white particles in my brows. I will just stick to my $4 got2b Glued spiking glue (yellow tube).

So glad that you're enjoying the palette so far! I had a moment of concern when I saw the thumbnail, but was relieved that I was not totally off the mark when I felt like you'd really like the Glam. Your eye look is lovely!
As someone who was on the fence about the Milk eye primer, your review has tipped me into the "no buy" camp, for which my wallet thanks you. 😄 The other videos I've seen either rave about it or haaaaate it. Since I haven't seen it offered in mini size yet, I'm going to pass on it. The Milk Hydro Grip face primer, though, I looooove it. I'm super cool-toned porcelain, a 37-year-old human oil slick so I need as much grip as possible, with very textured, ridiculously acne-prone, and unbelievably sensitive skin (if someone just looks at me wrong, my skin will react). The Milk face primer is my holy grail, and it has never broken me out. It does come in a mini, so maybe the upcoming Sephora sale would be a good time to try it out if you feel so inclined.

The saie tinted moisturizer was a wonderful product and blended so nice but so greasy on me. I tried a powder and powder + my Milani setting spray, even gave it time to for my skin to absorb cause my skin is normal to dry and i still had to get a tissue and blot it down. I don’t like having to apply a tinted moisturizer or something with super light coverage for everyday wear with anything other than with my fingers. I love the bronzer and the super gel tho.

From the review Too Much Mouth did it seems the Milk primer is good for keeping oils away from the undereye. You could see the difference of how it kept her skin matte. So maybe it's only great for those with oily skin. Not exactly how it's marketed 🤔

I know I've commented this for a while but you still haven't seemed to have tried it...but the Smashbox Halo tinted moisturizer is the BEST complexion product I've used. It gives you the most beautiful skincare finish while covering scars and uneven tone. Please try it.

I was confused about the lack of shade names for the ND eyeshadow palette, but when I researched it a little bit, there’s little holes on the back so you can stick something in there to pop the shades out and rearrange them. So you can kind of arrange the palette based on preferences. I organized mine based on texture, but i have also seen people arrange them by light/dark

Not sure if you may have tried it, but Pixi by Petra makes H2O Skin Tint, and that one is really good. It has that water consistency and just evens out the complexion. Well, not only. It actually improves skin over time.

I've heard that the Glow Recipe Dew Drops pill really badly when paired with SPF! That's the main reason I never snagged them despite having super dry skin and being a sucker for their packaging.

Turtleneck weather? I'm jealous. It's juuuust getting chilly enough to wear a jacket here.
I do love the regular face Hydro Grip primer--definitely something I always want in my collection. But I don't feel like I need the undereye/concealer Hydro Grip; I feel like the formula doesn't necessarily lend itself well to undereye application.

Purlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream SPF 30 has been a really nice surprise, if I'm being honest. I got it in a boxycharm and I never have any luck with base products from boxycharm, but I was thoroughly shocked. I've seen if pop up w/ favorable reviews in my feeds. And it's $35. Not super expensive. I also looked on their website and they say they don't test on animals and they're vegan.

Hun, theirs a spatula you can buy that goes with that Abh brow freeze, it helps it keep your eye brows up. I don’t know much of how it works but I seen it online.

My brows are pretty thick and the hairs are long, and nothing seems to hold them up except for the Got to be hair gel (which I also don't love). I bought the Patrick Ta brow wax and I'm not super happy with it, but I've heard the ABH one is better. Thanks for saving me some money!

I picked up the Essence Dancing Green eyeshadow palette and the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer and I'm loving them! Have you tried the Essence Pretty Natural hydrating foundation, or the Profusion Feel Good Skin long wear skin perfector? Both are great, the Profusion one is my current favorite liquid formula. Medium to full coverage with a satin finish. I'm trying a new to me cruelty free line today, Elizabeth Mott. Giving the Thank Me Later eye shadow primer and It's So Big mascara a go today.

Fun fact: I put my makeup on by 3-wick candlelight today (thank you Leaves by B&BWs!) because a strong storm rolled through Austin, TX this AM and kicked out power out for an hour just after I woke up to get ready for work (school). The ONLY eyeshadow shade that I could think of that wouldn’t steer me wrong and I could just throw all over the eye in the dark in my panicky early morning moment was Blend in the Glam palette. 😂

I find that my Elf putty primer doesn't work well for my face, but when my undereyes are feeling dry and creasy, I use that primer under my eyes. I feel weird having an eye primer under the eyes because it's so poweder goes on smooth. I'd think normal hydrating face primer would be a better fit, since its supposed to be with liquids.

Kelly have you tried Nyx brow glue? I love that stuff. Now talk about some hold if you want it super in place. I feel like it really works. Just sharing. Plus it is super cheap. Also not sure if this brand is on your radar or not but Glamlite have won me over. First of all their freaking packaging is 1000% amazing. I am talking about their Happy Hour Collection. It looks like a bottle of alcohol. I just bought the Chocolate Martini palette. I love the shades. The shimmers are out of this world. The matte colors are also amazing. There is also two dual chromes. You have to try them. Hands down my new fav. Jen Phelps has a code with them too to save 15% if that interests you too, JEN10. I know it says ten but trust me it is for 15% off. Please try and review. In love! Be well woman.

Hi Kelly! I’ve been looking into the glam palette from Natasha Denona as I switched to cruelty free about a year ago now and my everyday cool toned eyeshadow palette from Mac is going to run out soon but I would like to buy a cruelty free swap! Do you think it’s worth the money and I’d love to know how it lasts on the eyes? Thank you so much for your videos Kelly you’ve been really helpful on my cruelty free journey, even though I live in the UK, most of the products you talk about are available over here. Always love watching your videos! Thank you so much :) 💜

I love my Glam palette- it’s my favorite of all my palettes, and I have a lot. I did a super quick eye look with it yesterday, it looked beautiful and lasted all day. I went to bed with my makeup on (I know, terrible) and my eyeshadow still looked great this morning! I told my sister and a friend about it and they both got it and love it. I don’t think you’ll regret it!

Not sure if you like colourpop but stone cold fox gives similar vibes to glam but half the cost and more product. I have both and like them equally. Both are worth it and it's preference about money. Alter Ego also has a dupe for glam and I believe they're also cruelty free.

Hi Kelly. Well, the CT Pillowtalk lipstick did not work for me either. Wrong color but the pencil is wonderful. I have been resisting buying it for a year but had to buy it recently. Your dupe did not work for me, just not the same colour. I have that NYX pencil. Another TH-camr said that NYX Suede Shoes is a dupe. So I got that one as well. NYX lip pencil costs $11 in Canada and CT is $27. So after all these dupes I still had to go and buy CT. Milk face primer made my foundation so cakey and I have oily skin so I am not interested in their eye primer, I will stick with my HG, Urban Decay. Great video. Thank you and I love your channel.
