"The painting is finished when it is sold and gone to live with some other people" . Best quote ever! 😆❤🙏
Ha, ha ... thank you.
Beautiful result. 🎉
I absolutelyove your whole approach, process, painting, using of words and also your "finished pholosophy" I can relate with. Keep on changing...of course not always for the better. Would feel so rich to have a session with you as instructor but of course its impossible. Just want to express my respect and value of ur lesson.
Love the blue background so detailed.
Thank you ... yes it took a while, but was worth it.
Thank you for sharing your process and thoughts. Really interesting 😊
Thank you for your nice comment.
Thank you for sharing. Love the idea of glass bowls to keep moist 👍
Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. Good luck with your painting.
... and sorry for the late reply.
I am glad to have found you on you tube. I have learnt several topics from you work. Thank you.
I am happy to hear that my videos were usefull.
I loved the painting with the yellow background, but once you changed the colour to blues, it just made it even more beautiful. Thank you for showing us how to paint.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the painting and found the color change to be an improvement. It's always great to hear that my tutorials are helpful to others.
Looking forward to more.
Thank you for watching. Means a lot to me.
I've never before considered changing a background. What a liberating suggestion! I especially appreciate your step-by-step teaching style. Thank you.
Thank you. Changing background was a drastic step ... but I like the blue one better.
So great watching you. I hope you have a wonderful, happy life.
Thank you. I do. Best wishes for your life too. Greetings from Denmark.
Nice painting! I like the yellow and blue backgrounds equally. I look forward to more videos.
Thank you! Cheers!
Very good. I would never have thought to make such a huge change at the end. I wouldn’t have believed it was possible so thank you for this.
Hi. Everything is possible in a painting ... if you take the time. Thank you for your kind comment.
Birds in flight as organized chaos... inspired and inspirational! 💛
Thank you for you nice comment, that is giving me inspiration.
Both backgrounds worked well !
Thank you for watching. Means a lot to me.
I love listening to you and watching. Please make more videos!
Hi, Thank you. I am working on the next one. Thank you for watching.
Our beautiful blue background is much easier on the eye. Thank you
Yes, I also really like the blue background. But sometimes you have to try something new, and sometimes it doesn't go as well as planned. Fortunately, you can always change ... and change ...
Arggghh, I just went to go click to binge watch all your videos! Your first one I find on here . Now you have another new subscriber ❤
Wow, thank you! I am working on my second video. Have patience with me ... I'm the old guy ...
Wonderful video! I enjoyed watching! Thank you for sharing!❤
Thank you too.
I say that my paintings are finished when I get that "complete" feeling. I have always had strong feelings about things. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Your work is beautiful. 😊
Yes. I believe I do. Complete" feeling is what I mean when I say that you can not find anything to to better. Greetings from Denmark.
@@skora-theoldguy hello from Georgia
Hi… I think I know what you mean… with the “complete” feeling!
My take on it is a kind of holistic sense, more than the eye or the brain or the intention.
I have tried to believe, I had a lot more to do… but suddely got the feel it was completed (a painting of af portrait, as well as other stuff)…
So my brain and intention as well as the plan, was that I had to do more… but luckily I listend to the “stop-feel” … felt like a resistance and stopped. Life was present in the painting and no need to overwork or “explain” anymore.
I find finishing a painting is a vast challenge … more difficult than starting up - so the feel is important.
All the best from a fulltime Danish artist. 😊
Thank you old guy, looking forward to what you will be coming up next time!
More to come!
Fantastic explanation…. Please upload more!
Thank you, I will.
I really like your process of painting and could listen to you for hours (ha!) I certainly hope you plan to make many more videos as I have found a new favorite channel to watch!
Thank you for your kind comment. I highly appreciate it.
I love your style of painting ❤ thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you.
This is great. I love the process
Thank you for watching. Means a lot to me.
Thank you for sharing. I love the way you describe the flock of birds and then translate that into your painting. That's real art. Thank you
Birds are fascinating to paint. They can do something we can't ... they can fly and when they are in a flock, hundreds of birds can behave, as if they were one individual.
I see many pictures in that, so it's probably not the last bird painting from me.
Greetings from Denmark.
@skora-theoldguy yes birds are fascinating. I also do some abstract art, a few pictures ago found a bird came to visit. It is a pretty good bird and was totally unintentional, but makes the picture now.
So enjoyed watching you & seeing your process …also picking up some tips !!…I hope to see more. Thank you 😊
More to come! I'm working on it this very instance.
So happy I found you 🌹 I prefer the yellow background… but I absolutely love the painting ☺️😊
Hi Diane. Thank you for your interest in my paintings. I better paint some more. (-:
Absolutely stunning. Love your style! I look forward to hearing more about your process, how you started vs where you are at in your art career
Hi
I actually wrote a book about how I started my career. Unfortunately, it is in Danish. But it is a good idea for a video to tell about my start.
On the other hand, I just started making these videos and it's probably a little too early... in a year maybe after I've produced a lot more pictures and videos.
Greetings from Denmark
Such an interesting lesson and beytiful painting! Thank you. I was liking the yellow background because it was so bright and uplifting, but they both are lovely. Thanks. .
Hi. Thank you. I am working on getting away from the blue coulors. Bus I love the Indigo blue ... it is difficult.
Thank you - very interesting video. I like your approach. Hope to see more from you. Richard.
Many thanks!
Danish design... pure. Your ideas evoke new ways to see. Tak!
Selv tak.
Cool to see your process. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome.
What a great painting. It certainly does communicate the chaos of those birds zooming around as they do. The light flickering everywhere. Wow.
Yes, birds are very interesting subjects. I am currently gathering inspiration and ideas for a series of birds. I don't know if it will come to anything, but I think so.
That’s Beautiful!!!!!!!!❤️
Thank you!
Love your way of sharing your experiences.
Thank you.
I liked it yellow too.
Yes ... do you know the saying: "You must kill your darlings" ... however I still find that the blue is better.
Thank you! Just what I needed as I was stuck!
I'm glad to hear that.
Getting stuck with a painting is part of the process. Try to see it as an opportunity to think it through and take a break.
... and sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for your inspiration ❗️ 🎨
Thank you. You are very welcome.
Hoping to see much more from you!
Thank you ... you will.
thank you for a wonderful, dense, informative eight minutes! not too long and very interesting!
Thank you.

Thank you so much for high quality film, accuracy perfect working, and valuable experience!
I'm glad to hear that you found value in my video. It means a lot to me.
Thank you for watching.
@@skora-theoldguyIs that you playing the music in the background of your videos? It has a nice chill vibe.
I really enjoyed watching that and I love the piano soundtrack 👏👏
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you found value in my video. Glad you liked my piano playing.
You explain very useful points. Really helpful. Thanks 🌻
You are very welcome.
Without excavating for birds, your sketch is already an abstract painting. Thanks for sharing your perspective.😊
Thank you for watching.
Thanks for this. I love how u delivered and explained the process clearly and simply. Im just starting my creative journey but much of what u say makes sense and i sort of discovered these thoughts too (not so well formulated as your dialogue thought). I loved the work too!
Glad it was helpful! Greetings from Denmark
I’m so glad I found your channel. You have inspired me to paint in the abstract style. Your paintings are beautiful. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you!
Hi Carmelina. Thank you for your kind message. Yes, I will make more videos. I am open for ideas ... please let know.

Thank you for watching.
I really enjoy watching you work. Beautiful
Hi Eva
Thank you for your nice comment.
Another way to paint ... ❤
Thank you very much for your comment. Do you think your way of painting is different from what others do?
I would like to hear about your and others' painting process, and other ways of painting.
Liked both backgrounds actually! What a clever and efficient use of the rubber shaper to put you on the way towards composition! Many txz Jeanne
Thank you for your comment. Yes the shaper is good fun, and gives something to the painting.
Bravo!
Thank you for watching.
I like your idea about the small glass bowls, great for keeping temporary color mixes for a particular painting without having to re-mix colors.
Thank you for your kind comment.
Yes, the small glass bowls are good, but they can be a little hard to find. Let me know if you find suitable bowls.
Excellent video
Thank you for watching. Means a lot to me. Like your work as well!
Wonderful.Thank you very much for your video. Greatful that you share your knowledge and experience. ❤🎉
So nice of you.
Thanks for a wonderful video!!
Thank you.
Fugleflok is a great painting - definitely better with the blue background. 🎉
Thank you. Yes I like the blue one better too.
@@skora-theoldguy I look forward to another video from you Henrik.
What a fantastic method of painting. I LOVE your style. Tips on using glass painting bowls are awesome, too. I LOVE using glass or porcelin containers. Thanks for your tutorial.
Hi

Thank you for your kind comment. Means a lot to me. Please let me know if e.g. you have ideas fro future videos, what would you like to hear about?

Greetings from Vestegnen 😉
Hi Noseman .
Thank you ... do we know each other?
Second time watching this! I love watching your informative and interesting videos. 😊
Hi and wow ... getting back and rewatch a video, is something I also do a lot. Second time is better for remembering it all.
I enjoyed this very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What an inspiring video! Thank you for sharing your process.
You are very welcome.
Again, another beautiful painting. I did love the yellow background too. But the blue is just as beautiful.
Hello. It has been very educational to me to read all the comments about this my very first video. There are many who agree with you. Thank you for your comment.
I loved the first background, but totally understand the change! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
This is very helpful for me, thankyou so much for making this video. The painting turned out beautifully and the background change made it more so.
Thank you. Glad you found value in my process.
Oh thank you so much ❤
You are welcome.
Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
My pleasure!
I like the blue background a bit more than the yellow background. But I may have liked a pale, pale yellow background as well. I am discovering your style of abstract painting and am really enjoying it. Thank you.
Thank you!
Thanks for the nice words.
Yes, the possibilities are endless. We must each choose our own path. The more muted background is probably also a good solution, and I myself work a lot with the muted in contrast to the clear or pure colors.
There will be a video about that in the coming year...we'll see when.
Greetings from Denmark.
Thank You so much for an amazing painting experience! You are such a pro and I’m glad I serendipitously came across your instructional video! ❤
Thank you for your kind comment. Greetings from Denmark
I am very happy to come across your videos. There are not enough of them! They are different from most and in a good way. Inspiring.
Hi. Thank you ... I am working to produce more, but I am the old guy, remember.
Wonderful. More videos please!
Thank you! Will do! Greetings from Denmark.
Thanks for this lovely video. I'm torn between yellow Vs blue but honestly, if it were my painting, I would now simply add back a few more touches of the yellow, perhaps a deeper hue of yellow, as it really catches your eye but do like the blue sky background very much. Also, I too, frequently use the color shapers, loved seeing you use them as they are the greatest tool for abstraction.
Thank you. I'll take this deeper hue of yellow into consideration, when I get the painting back. It is out on an exhibition right now. Greetings from Denmark.
Lovely painting, also wonderful to see a brilliant artist who seems to be has untidy as me 😄
Thank you for the brilliant part ... untidy?? I believe however, that my wife will agree with you .. ho, ho
Beautiful and the energy and movement you captured is very exciting. Thank you for sharing your fascinating process
You are welcome and thanks for your kind comment.
Fabulous, I love your insights and way of working. Really inspiring thank you!
Thank you you are so welcome. Thank you for watching.
Organized, methodical and creative... a man after my heart...
Such a joy watching you work and sharing your thought process throughout .
Thank you, it was a real treat -- looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos.
You are so welcome
Beautiful work and great advice... Thank you!!
Thank you for watching.
Wish I had imagination to paint like this... when I draw and paint, it just looks like what I can see infront of me.
Hi. Go on drawing and painting ... you will get better at doing exactly what you want.
Great!! Thank you!!
Thank you.
I loved the yellow...
... so did I, but I love the blue one even better.
Often the solution is taking a chance and see what happens. You must dare to fail.
As I am stepping my toes into brush painting I found this video extremely helpful and your explanations very clear! I preferred the blue background too! Thank you for giving me the courage to pick up the brush and not be afraid of making mistakes!
You ae welcome. There are no mistakes ... only new ways to go. Go luck with your painting process.
Thank you for the amazing video, i was very happy to see the final result. This inspired me to try change the background of one of my paintings that i feel not satisfied with. ❤
Thanks. Yes, go for it. Follow you impulse ... most of the time you land on your feet.
Tak, for det, Henrik - meget inspirerende!
Dejlig at du fandt min video interessant. Jeg må hellere lave en til.
A very interesting and helpful video. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
Glad it was helpful!
Fabulous work. Wonderful wise words. Thank you for the share.
You are welcome.Thank you for watching.
Thank you for this amazing video, I enjoyed so much not only watching the working/thinking process but your “story” was so interesting to me. Love this video so much, love your work 🙏
Thank you for watching.
There’s some really good stuff here - thx!
Thank you for your nice comment.
I just found you and your painting…I enjoyed this so much…I follow several artists on YT and it’s a joy to find someone new who is so worthy. I love the piece you did…..for me when you changed the background and the screen switch between the yellow and the blue everything inside me moved. I felt aaahaaa! And it wasn’t that I didn’t like the yellow..I did. But there was a beautiful calm that came over me as I saw the blue. Looking forward to the next. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this kind comment.
Thank you for the lesson. You are a good teacher. I actually was bothered by the yellow and wondered if you would paint over it. I love the result!
Thank you for watching.
This was most useful! Thank you!
You are welcome.
