Well done. I'll bet it was cool seeing your own work in the book you were reading. I love the "old me would have quit" line, then continuing. Well done.

As someone who’s done the 75 hard challenge, the end was the hardest part. I decided to 10,000 steps on top of this challenge, needless to say I wouldn’t do this again. It was an incredible experience for me to try out. I’ve lost 20lbs and gained 5% muscle, as a woman. Congrats on completing the challenge.

Fyi, to break through the "wall" that you came across toward the end of the challenge what you have to do is take an entire week off, where you just do very light stuff. This is normal and it's why mesocycles exist. It's because over time too much cumulative fatigue builds up and then you have to "reset" it and thats called a deload week. Dr. Mike Isratel has some amazing content on YT about all of that stuff.
I’m going to be re-attempting this as well soon. Experience similar physical consequences as well. Thing that helped me and I’m hoping will help when I try this again is to get adequate protein at least 1 g per pound of bodyweight, prioritize sleep, was negatively affected by the last time, I did this challenge by continuously delaying and pushing my workouts further into the day. Go to bed early wake up early try to get all or majority of the test on the list completed by midday. Great video man very inspiring
This was a great watch. I just started my TH-cam channel documenting my 75 Hard journey, which started on August 1. The takeaway you got from Coach Greg's video is the same I spoke about in my Week 1 video. You have to be strategic about how and when you push yourself in this challenge. I've heard stories of people getting injured and having to quit at day 50+, which would be so disappointing! Thanks for making this video, got lots of inspiration in how to improve the viewing experience of my future videos as well.
Great video! It's interesting how little is mentioned about hormones, especially testosterone, which is crucial for building muscles. For natural exercisers, the book 'You Are Stronger Than You Think' by Borlest has some useful insights on testosterone that could be helpful.
What insights about Testosterone? "You Are Stronger Than You Think" by Peter Borlase does not specifically focus on testosterone or its role in strength, motivation, or resilience. The book is primarily centered around psychological and emotional strength, resilience, and mental toughness, with less emphasis on biological or physiological factors like hormones.
I love how this challenge has read 10 pages (something you can do in 5-10 minutes) but forbids you to read fiction but then people will read the most trash books out there (popular science stuff). This challenge clearly goes very light on mental work and is just exercise and diet in disguise
11:21 - Need more carbs. Carbs generate serotonin, a precursor to melatonin. This is why carnivore and keto is foolish. Less carbs = poor sleep = poor recovery and reliant on stimulants
I love when we get to see how the challenges and books, really all the creators out there improving the world and playing off of each other, grats on being in the book!
Man, congratulations!!! Congrats my friend!! That’s one of the hardest things one can do, and that quote.. “my old self” man that hitted hard.. Again well done my friend, well done
Holy Crap. I ALSO got my DEXA scan done at the same place. I was amazed to find out I was 24% despite being “skinny”. I’m currently on a bulking diet ATM. 24 was after my cut
I got my first Dexa scan back when I was running long distance. Weighed like 135 pounds, skinniest I’ve ever been, and the dexa said I was 24% bodyfat lol. So even though I was skinny and visibly very lean, I had a low amount of muscle. Super interesting stuff though! Good luck with the bulking!
I am already getting up at 4:20am to work a 10hr shift at a hot sweaty job where I am on my feet all day, then hit the gym for an hour after getting home at after 6:30pm most days. No way I am going to be able to get up an hour earlier to do this. But good for you being able to keep with this
13:20 This is completely inaccurate if you want to improve. If you don't let your body first revocer and then compensate from the previous workout then you are wasting your time. You are over training when it comes to weight training.
You’re right! You definitely don’t want to overtrain. I do think there is value in showing up when you don’t feel like it, but obviously you’ve gotta find the right balance!
13:06 Please incorporate yoga nidra and body scan meditations when you experience sleep disturbances, especially on your next challenge. Non-sleep deep rest (NSDR) practices will eliminate exhaustion and fatigue, and they can help you restore your natural sleep faster, even when faced with increased daily stressors.
I love doing challenging challenges, I am definitely going to do this in the fall. The only reason I'm not doing it now is because nearly every day of the summer where I live is 100+ Fahrenheit
I believe you restricted calories too much. You should have maintained maintenance calories and increased carbs. I believe this would have definitely helped with energy and sleep. Other than that awesome stuff! Well done! Amazing work thanks for the encouragement 👍
Lost 15 pounds in a month in a half not working out a single day. The only the I changed was my diet. I cut out sugar and artificial sweeteners unless the food itself had the sugar naturally + plenty of fiber. If losing weight is the goal, your diet is really the only thing that needs to change. Gaining muscle... well that's another story.
I completed 75 hard in September 2022 and followed with phase 1 and 2. Never got phase 3 done. But it changed my life it broke a bad alcohol habit, I read more, lost about 25 pounds and gave me confidence to be a better person overall. Great job finishing it! Your results are amazing!
Im on day 65. Stronger than ever! The hardest part is food but when you’re committed, it’s easy. I’ve even done 30 days off carbs too. Results are CRAZY
I am sad I just found this channel. Very entertaining video of a very challenging pursuit! Thanks for sticking with it. My favorite part is definitely you finding yourself in Adam Grant's book! What are the chances!

Even more amazing is it shows building muscle and losing fat at the same time is possible. The bodybuilding community says you can’t do both. This video is the first time we actually get to see a concrete example of this
Every-day challenges are not good. Recovery is literally where all progress is made. I appreciate the spirit, but this is only for the very young and the very lucky. The success stories are survivorship bias: only folks who don't get injured post their success photos and get bragging rights.
I don’t think the point of the challenge was to do flashy amounts of fitness. I think it was to keep a promise to yourself and learn discipline for your growth.
The work out could be something as simple as an outdoor walk, yoga, swimming in a pool, wall ball, pickleball. It doesn’t have to be high impact and it is good to stay active during recovery with low impact workouts.
@@timegoesby421, you can be consistent with exercising 4 times a week as well. I’ve seen more progress running 4 times a week than trying to run every day. I don’t feel exhausted, tired etc. Your body needs time to adapt after hard workouts, it’s not all about the mind over body.
Not to mention this mentality really isn’t healthy. It’s okay to mess up. It’s okay to miss a day. And also describing food as good and bad isn’t good either. It’s a fad but it’s not sustainable
I completed 75 hard March of 2023. The hardest part was the monotony. I realized that the last 20 days was really just Me vs Me but I ended up losing 9 lbs and 4% body fat & 8" around my entire body, including 3.5" on my waist. I could've lost more but my caloric deficit wasn't that high, I still found myself hungry at night for the first few weeks tho. But at the end My body comp was completely different than when I started. I was burning 1000 calories per day which I never dreamed was possible due to my sedentary job. I read around 6 books as well. It was a hell of a challenge, I started over around 4 times because I failed at a task lol
One thing I’d love to mention in case it wasn’t in the video, if drinking 1 gallon of water daily be sure you’re also supplementing your minerals because so much water without proper electrolytes balance can throw off the body as well, some even claim to suffer water toxicity if not tracking the electrolyte balance :)
I was on day 41 today. My dog and I were attacked by another dog 3 minutes into a walk this morning. Luckily I was able to fight the dog off and my girl is shaken but otherwise ok. I have scratches and knees and elbows are banged up and my tooth is loose, meaning i can’t eat solids and drinking water is difficult. It’s too late in the day to drink the two and a half litres i still need to drink to complete the gallon. I will heal and come back from day 1. Thankyou to the @goalguys for continuing to inspire.
I completed 75 Hard early last year, and I loved the level of discipline I had to persevere even when life got busy, or I was tired. At one point I had a foot infection so had to get creative with my workouts. I also loved collecting nutrition data and being able to actively tweak what I was eating for different times and different training for different times of my cycle. It sounds like such a cliche, and I lost heaps of weight, but the mental benefits were the real winner for me. I'll definitely do it again. Also I LOVED that you were in the book! Such a great discovery!
I completed 75 hard, between 3/1/24 to 5/14/24. The last 2 days, I was sick, had a fever, and still completed my 2 45 minute workouts. Only because if i actually rested to heal, I would have to start over. Not going to happen, so I pushed through
70 days with no rest is hell on your nervous system, you accumulate a ton of fatigue and you can't rest properly. It's amazing you got to the last week before symptoms started showing up. While these kinda challenges are impressive, long term you should have 1 or 2 rest days a week, both to improve muscle gain and to give your body and nervous system time to rest. Doing it everyday is the equivalent of not sleeping for days or sleeping 2-3 hours a day.
I wonder how they categorize cheat meals and what are considered workouts? Some of the things that you seemed to consider against a diet seemed fine for me
The lack of sleep was probably from under eating. He would have had better results from this program if he was fueling his body better. Looks like he needed far more protein, supplements and more calories overall to give him energy and help build muscle mass. Nevertheless, massive challenge and good on him for seeing it through.
I completed 75 Hard March 17, 2023. I was fired on January 18, 2023. I still completed the challenge because it was the only thing I could control during that time.
How is it looking for you now? Are things getting better?
I started mine on 5 February 2024, got fired 22nd March 2024, still completed it.
It’s unnecessary. Workout 1 time a day 5-6 days a week. You don’t need to follow these artificially created rules by 1 guy to get fit.

Not to mention this mentality really isn’t healthy. It’s okay to mess up. It’s okay to miss a day. And also describing food as good and bad isn’t good either. It’s a fad but it’s not sustainable
It's really nice to see somebody finish🎉
Hell yea
Oh I can’t wait to watch this, good luck! 🤞
Great video. Where’d you get that alarm clock!?
This is awesome! You're an inspiration to many!
Bro this video is so well made and creatively edited, the story is amazing and the way he weaves it in is amazing
Thank you so much mate!
Me, having never heard of "75 Hard", realizing that I'd be halfway through 75 Hard if only I was taking progress photos...
great video dude great work!
Nice! And that must have been quite the surprise to realize he was talking about you in that book ;)
Oh I freaked out lol
I was on day 41 today. My dog and I were attacked by another dog 3 minutes into a walk this morning. Luckily I was able to fight the dog off and my girl is shaken but otherwise ok. I have scratches and knees and elbows are banged up and my tooth is loose, meaning i can’t eat solids and drinking water is difficult. It’s too late in the day to drink the two and a half litres i still need to drink to complete the gallon. I will heal and come back from day 1. Thankyou to the @goalguys for continuing to inspire.
I hope that you and your dog are good 🙏
@ Thankyou 😊
Well done mate. Looking good. Keep it up. Training is like getting a sun tan. Little and often. Don’t go too hard or you’ll get burnt.
this man is given as an example in books, he must be on a good trajectory, keep going random dude :)
Oh wow, Congrats Bro!!!
That must have felt amazing to realize the book excerpt was written about your video!
You have sold it for me. Im starting tomorrow.
The mental benefits are pretty wild!!
I completed 75 hard, between 3/1/24 to 5/14/24. The last 2 days, I was sick, had a fever, and still completed my 2 45 minute workouts. Only because if i actually rested to heal, I would have to start over. Not going to happen, so I pushed through
Way to go! Thanks for the inspiration 😊
As a father of 3 Kids I had to smile at the 4-6 Hour sleep thing 😅
lol!
Great video. Thought the cinematography was a real step up from previous videos.
Thanks!!
Things like losing sleep are hidden signs of overtraining. Fatigue accumulation is real
Pretty amazing to see, you would benefit looking up what deloads are so that you can keep progressing long term instead of hitting a wall :)
Good for you man! 👨🏻 💪
"The old me would have quit by now" damn :)
man i thought you and your bro were gonna train for an ironman and got so hyped--please do one! show us how its done!
Maybe one day!! That would be amazing
metric vs old school 😅 3:04
I did this in Jan 2021 and honestly I didn't think it was that hard. The thing I hated the most was the stupid picture.
The camera roll part is entirely too accurate, felt the exact same lol
😂
Congrats !!! You are amazing
I wonder how they categorize cheat meals and what are considered workouts? Some of the things that you seemed to consider against a diet seemed fine for me
Even on your worst day show up.
I loved this video!
Congratulations Cam!
The lack of sleep was probably from under eating. He would have had better results from this program if he was fueling his body better. Looks like he needed far more protein, supplements and more calories overall to give him energy and help build muscle mass. Nevertheless, massive challenge and good on him for seeing it through.
