I had no idea a face it playoffs was on. Did not see any of it at all. I watch everything so far, all of Owcs. They have a TH-cam channel, didn’t see any posts or streams. There was a few days a few weeks ago they put on TH-cam. Had to just scim the results off the videos. So far I have watched like 50 hours plus of OWCS, 0 hours of Faceit League.

Is FaceIt separate from Blizzard? Does Blizzard silence them on their channels? Do i have to subscribe to another TH-cam channel or IG page to get updates?
The cast largely isnt employed by Blizzard but are independent contractors, and as such they could probably work for both Blizzard and FaceIt but may have been required to not talk about it, hence Jonny saying "unnamed broadcast"

Ironic how SSG shits on peps for talking the most shit and then losing when they talked the most shit at Dallas and got shit on. Same with the "big dogs don't need to bark thing." They were the ones barking at Dallas lmao. Same with reading too much into one win. If we're talking about that, it's definitely spitfire losing to reign, outlaws twice, uprising, mayhem, glads, titans, excelsior, and justice in the regular season then getting completely delusional because they upset a boomed reign the ONE time it mattered most in playoffs.
Zeta and Fnatic being S and A tier respectively is also fucking crazy if SSG is S tier. SSG got 6-0'd by the Koreans while Zeta has went to 5 with falcons multiple times and has been consistently very competitive with them (unlike SSG at Dallas). And since then they have IMPROVED their roster, so them in the same tier as SSG is crack cocaine. Fnatic also beat CR, albeit in a low stakes match. However, they have at least proved that they are capable of at least forcing CR to play seriously, which is more than SSG have done. And, like with Zeta, they have since IMPROVED their roster significantly. Defiant need to be put in prison (A tier) for their complete dogshit performance until proven otherwise, and their roster is also mega overhyped in regards to how it stacks up to Korean teams. ENCE being two tiers above peps and virtus and whatnot when they went to 5 with both of them is also interesting.
I hate the whole "I tried less than you I'm cool" thing too. It's just so fucking braindead. The point of a competition is to win. You don't sign up to a hot dog eating competition and then, when you lose, say the winner is fat and will get diabetes so you're the real winner. Like, mofo the competition is to eat as many hot dogs as possible. Nobody fucking gives a shit about anything else because in the competition around that specific topic you got shit on. Complaining about more money and a free trip is also fucking insane. Like, if you genuinely value significantly less money more than "having to" go to a free trip, play on a giant stage, and have the opportunity to earn WAY more money then I'm sure you can fucking opt out if you really want. Like if you think it's so miserable I'm sure NRG would gladly take your spot, lose 18 maps straight, and go home with almost twice as much money as FTG got for going to five with Falcons on multiple occasions. Any team or player not trying when they have an opportunity to paly in front of a stage and wins tens of thousands of dollars for a few wins is braindead. And even though the teams like this will subsequently get bounced, they still robbed spots of poker face, SPG, runaway, etc., teams that would EASILY be competitive for top 8 worldwide, let alone top 16, which EWC supposedly.
EWC format is also complete dogshit. They care more about broadcasting 18 maps of Loaded getting spawn camped than double elim bracket LMAO it's genuinely so bad it's just depressing, not even funny. I know they want every team to be guaranteed a significant amount of play time but like...that's not what it should be. I don't want to see all teams an approximately equal amount. I want to see the BEST teams. If loaded plays two matches and loses both (or three maybe), I don't want to see them. If they want more play time, they should win their matches. I want to see Falcons, LGD, CR, Zeta and whatnot be definitively narrowed down with a fuck ton of matches, not have some RNG single elim bracket DOGSHIT. That's why double elim brackets are good. You see the best teams MORE and for longer because the losers get eliminated. If you lose a significant amount, I want you to get the fuck off the stage so I can watch the best teams. Arguing for any other format is insanely stupid imo. If double elim isn't enough matches and there are worries about seeding being RNG (even though it is arguably even worse than a fucking group stage because of RNG groups) then like fuck it have a triple elim bracket. It would be hype af.
Also another unrelated thing is that OWL and OW esports in general genuinely the WORST advertisement (none) in human history, NOTHING for viewers to buy (maybe a pass that lets you watch an exclusive post show from the desk, a buyable badge that could be seen in twitch chat, a paid all-access paid, a buyable gold esports player icon or some shit, anything), dogshit casters considering what they COULD have (of the best: uber, mr. x, wolf, achillios, avrl, we only have TWO) (more of an OWL criticism tbf with lemonkiwi and legday), consistently DOGSHIT formats, 2 events the entire year (where they bring like 2 teams and have 3 total matches), month-long breaks after literally EVERY event (like break between group stage and regional playoffs, then group between that and LAN, then a GIANT break between that LAN and the start of the next group stage, like holy fuck this is worse than the 6 month offseasons, at least THEN we had consistent content for a decent amount of time), fucking nothing about it in-game, regional competition where EVERY international completely fucks Korean teams because their region is 10000% harder to qualify for (and they get LESS slots for it LMAO) and the like 2 or 3 TOTAL decent teams from NA and EMEA have to bully masters players for 2 months (because there are 8 fucking slots) then go into a 2 month break before any real international competition 😃.
This is why split regions is the most dogshit thing for competition humanly possible. You have no fucking idea who the best is and, even though it's obvious, the better region(s) get COMPLETELY fucked for the sake of equality that shouldn't happen. If you are not a top 8 team you need to stay home, not get "woohoo I'm a masters player from NA who made it to lan instead of viol2t superteam and makes 10x their winnings) because some dumbfuck organizer has to assume that NA #3>Asia #3 and #4 and #5 and whatever else. It also completely fosters delusion. This will be the PERMANENT cycle the stupid ass fans who called for OWL's death have relegated us to: Defiant and SSG assault literal plumbers in the video game for 4 months straight, gain a MASSIVE false sense of ego from it, talk INSANE shit to Koreans because shitting on plumbers for 4 months has deluded them into thinking they're the best in the world, they go to LAN and get completely shit on by the top Korean teams, still come out looking good because the other Korean teams were cucked out of slots, face literally ZERO consequences for talking insane shit and then getting completely shit on because dumbass viewers only watch NA/EU and think the teams/players they like and are biased to are infinitely better than they are (see SOMEONE winning MVP over LIP when LIP has unseen levels of dominance on a hero since jjonak on zen, arguably MORE, and singe-handedly created the meta while SOMEONE and mayhem completely forced ram in the first half because SOMEONE couldn't compete with fearless or d0nghak (with help, someone prob better winston individually) on winston, mayhem was WAY WAY WAY less dominant in the second half than reign were in the first half despite being power ranked at #1 for similar amounts of time (less actually), played ram and winston all year despite being supposed flex god hypercarry (fun fact fearless is better if you only want to play those 2 heroes) in the regular season at least (which the MVP award IS btw), and had less consistent non-LAN success than reign, outlaws, and potentially even uprising. Doesn't matter though because SOMEONE does gangnam style on stage and it's funny (that means he's the best player)) (also see sports fans, specifically NFL, almost ALWAYS delude themselves into thinking their team will at least have a positive record almost no matter how bad they are or be CONVINCED that they'll win the super bowl as long as they're at least considered to be like top 10), then repeat. At least before in OWL the delusionals could be broken because there was regular competition between Korean teams and non-Korean teams. If S6 spitfire said "we're better than the outlaws" they'd get clown on because they just got lost to them 3-0 the previous week. But if SSG now says "we will be competitive with the top Korean teams" NOW it seems completely reasonable because they play them so infrequently that it's easier to write off or blame or meta or something when, in fact, there is basically no meta where they win consistently. And also don't come at me with "but oh all players/fans should be confident and believe they can win and bullshit" because like holy fuck you can try without being completely fucking delusional. Knowing that Reign will very likely shit on you as the Vegas Eternal last year doesn't mean you have to go AFK in spawn. You still give it your all. If Rakattack said in an interview that Reign were dogshit and Eternal would 3-0 stomp them no sweat that doesn't make them play better LMAO. If anything, it would make them play WORSE by being delusionally egotistical and have a completely false sense of security/superiority.
