Already on ebay for up to 3-5x RRP. and with 100k released anyone paying more than issue price are just insane as they should be easy enough to get.

Thank you for the post because I didn’t know they were being released and I got a confirmation today, it is a part of history,
I usually collect one of each monarch in sovereigns, however this has saved me a bit by just having the coins.

I’d love to see Perth Mint or RAM do a backyard birds edition…. Magpie Coin, Crow coin, Ibis Coin, Asian Miner Bird (Mynas) coin. Personally I have never seen a Magpie coin, despite this bird being a common theme in Australian life.
Seen them for over $200 per set. Insane.
I like the monarch’s through time concept but I’d like to see each effigy on a coin of the era in which they reigned.. so Victoria on a Penny, George as well and the Queens on a florin then a decimal coin etc.
I did not know there was a one year only effigy. I’m now going to have to find that.

I would love a set
With a mintage of 100,000 they should be reasonably accessible as they begin to hit dealers and the mint release more to the collectors ☺

I actually just completed my Australian effigy collection (starting with the establishment of the Australian pound in 1910) and you missed a few, so here are all the effigies in Australian coinage since then.

George V Melbourne centenary
George VI
Elizabeth II predecimal
The rest of Elizabeth’s coins whose names I forgot but everyone knows so I’m not gonna bother searching up.
I'm not sure how you'd fit all of those on a 6 coin set though... 🤣

Love your idea Matt, Monarch's over time is a great idea, and as you say, works in well with both this set and the previous effigies over time themes. I saw a comment from the mint on Facebook that the portraits of QE2 are facing to the right, looking towards her son, who is looking to the left back to her (By that logic, I'm not sure where the poor queen on the dollar is looking :D)

This one looks amazing. The QEII Effigies Over Time set is one of my absolute favourites. Fingers crossed my number comes up in the ballot so I can add this one too! I hope the RAM is listening and goes ahead with your all monarchs set idea

100K is ridiculous that’s a massive mintage , Do not buy on secondary market unless you like getting ripped off
I've got a few King Charles silver coins but that was because the random culls were on sale. I won't purposely buy his coins

It'll be interesting to see how many people get one of these new sets. I saw someone sold 50 of the $2 sets for $17,000 on ebay i think. How can anybody get 50 sets. Getting 1 was hard.
I love this release. However, I think they could have gone down a slightly different path to commemorate this change. In 2019, RAM did a release with the double-header coins; the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy on the reverse, with the new Jody Clark effigy on the obverse. They could have done a new set of double-header coins with King Charles on the obverse and all six of the Queen Elizabeth effigies on the reverse. I do like your idea with the monarchs from Queen Victoria onwards.
