In 1970 a few friends & myself who loved to get high, party & listen to music, decided to have a music concert in Wilmington, De. We held the concert at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Wilmington and we imported The Collector's all the way from Vancouver, along with a group from NYC, called Rhinoceros to play two nights. We had a great light show, a great sound system and two great bands. We partied with The Collectors while they were here and got to know them quite well. A great and talented group! We lost a lot of money but we had a great time!

A group from Vancouver, was formed in 1964 as C-Fun Classics. Then The Classics, then Canadian Classics, were renamed The Collectors in 1966, and in 1970 they changed their name again to Chilliwack. In 1968 they released the album THE COLLECTORS (New Syndrome).
But I could be wrong . I'm sorry

Love the harmonica. It grabbed me off the bat. Grass, wild strawberries, incense and wine. All that's missing is a hallucinogenic of some kind.
"Teletype Clerk" is something like Frank Zappa.
"Early Morning" is the pick of the litter. "Sheep On The Hillside" gets into a Jim Morrison zone. The lyrics sound like something Jim would come up with.
From comments made, I read these guys morphed into Chilliwack.
I have on album by Chiiliwack,
    Dreams, Dreams, Dreams 1977.
It's one that had a special sticker $3. I didn't know anything about "Chill" except that they were Canadian. Rush was hot at the time. I liked Rush, so I took a chance and bought the album.
Cool stuff from the Great White North.
Green grass and high tides and
    strawberry fields forever. 🍓
    Brother T.E.,
I was supposed to see Aerosmith this Friday. The Chicago show is postponed until February 14th, 2024.
Something about Steven Tyler having damaged his vocal cords.
Six cities were postponed on the tour. Rock steady in the Lone Star State.

Hey Amigo, great review of this album , I like the FZ reference to Teletype Clerk. Is that Chilliwack any good in your opinion? I have seen it but don't know their music & there used to be Chilliwack record label that had mostly punk bands like " The Radiators From Space" & " Johnny Moped". For 3 bucks I would have picked it up also. Cheers - " The Crackin Ice Kid" ⛷️ 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Hey bud, the album is "good stuff"
I would describe it as power pop.
I didn't know who they were until I picked up that album. The album cover and the red sticker saying reduced $3 got my attention.
It wasn't in the cutout bin. I was always a bargain hunter for records.
If I could save money, I would buy more albums. I took a chance and came out on top. Yeah, it's a good album. "Fly At Night" and "California Girl" are standouts, but there are more cool tracks. I've seen a video of "Fly At Night" on YT. Check it out.
You'll get an idea of their sound.
Like I said before, all I knew was the name and that they were from Canada. It was a lucky strike for me.
A couple more Canadian bands in the late 70s made it on US radio.
April Wine had "Roller" off First Glance album "78
Triumph had, "Lay It On The Line" off Just a Game album 1979.
Canada had great rockin" bands, but they weren't known in the US. Only a very few penetrated the American market. We got shafted!
Have you heard of The Tragically Hip? Formed in 1987.
Some of their songs made it on US radio. "New Orleans is Sinking" "87
      "Three Pistols" "91
I got respect for bands from our neighbors from the Great White North 🇨🇦 More bands should have made it in the US.
Now I'm the one rambling on. I guess I could have stopped with Chilliwack.
There"s a dog without a bone down in San Antone. Cheers T.E.

@@thomassmith8721 Amigo we got a steady dose of April Wine down here on FM bandwidth to the point of burnout. I like power pop. I like all kinds of music back then. For 3 bucks Chilliwack record was worth the money. Cheers - TE 🌿🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸

I first heard of April Wine in 1972 when they released their cover of, "You Could Have Been a Lady"
      #30 in US. #1in Canada.
      I have the original 45.

Also, “And 3,000 people ate one strawberry" from "Spontaneous Apple Creation" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Plus "Strawberry Letter 23" if you want to go easy on what's psychedelia. (FWIW, yes it's 23 in the title, despite it being 22 in the lyrics.)
