    I've just discovered the world of these types of videos, and I find it very very fascinating. From the extreme wilderness survival kits to the ever day carry urban jungle kits, the lengths of people's imagination and ingenuity never becomes boring. There's one item though I've not seen in the many I've watched, and that's water purification tablets and also a mini EPIRB. Sorry I've not seen all of yours if you have mentioned them.

      +Honey Ryder There is something fascinating about the kits, I agree!

      He did address your water tab issue specifically in the video. My take is that the tabs are SO small that I would still fit them into this pack. Plus acts as redundancy. This redundancy saved my butt recently when I LOST my water items on a hot canoe trip. My little water tab allowed me to be chugging cold water in no time.

      i fell you, i have discovered this one month ago and since then i have been spending multiple hours a day watching videos about survival, bugging out, prepping, bushcrafting all the way to world expedition and expedition vehicles. it's very addictive.

    FYI: dental floss can be used to suture most any wound *waxed is my personal preference
    (a small curved suture needle is a must, and multi-tool pliers)

    • @AgressorNation
      @AgressorNation 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get old sutures on eBay. They won't be sterile anymore, but if you have to suture yourself in an EDC situation, you likely won't be squeaky clean either. Sutures come with the needle attached. So you won't have to worry about threading a needle while you're bleeding.

    So I realized that I may be a little late on catching this video, but I just scrolled through every comment and not one person mentioned that your peanut lighter even after it runs out of fluid, may be used just as effectively as the spark wheel. So by adding an extra Flint into the filling of the lighter you can 86 the Flint wheel and gain a little bit more of that precious real estate! Just now catching up on all of your older stuff, I like the old and I like the new :-) keep it up dude!

    You address something I have a problem with. There are so many different types of kits or tins today. There's no way I'm going to have a collection of different kits for different purposes. I also have an all-in-one kit, ranging from urban EDC to more survival items. Simple. Really nice kit you have.

    in the medical parts of my edc and survival kits i have a tube of cyanoacrylate (super glue).
    it can serve as a crude temporary suture and close cuts in awkward places where band aids just aren't going to stay on
    like between your fingers.
    if you fray the jute rope you can use that as a tinder as well.

    Screw duct tape. It was called Duck Tape originally because it was made from water resistant, cotton duck fabric, like Carhartt Jackets.
    I'm still calling it the traditional name.
    Who in HVAC still uses Duck Tape?

    You should try an avalanche cord... It has 1,9mm diameter and it can holds 41kg at minimum.

    Great video :D
    10:00 can also be used to leave notes via burning words into materials like wood or paper, and can be used to extend the throw distance of 2:22 light. Likewise, make a pencil with a twig with solar. I would add a magnetized needle on the F.lens edge. Maybe a zip lock bag for either to keep the first aid items dry or to collect water.
    1.20 on the corner maybe a pencil sharpener for added redundancy

  • @daveyjones5702

    a tip, if you turn around your batterty in your flashlight it wil not get empty if the flashlight gets on in the kit

    • @alexarcano
      @alexarcano 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both yes and no, an led does have a small leakage of power when the polarity is reversed, (if the switch does get activated accidentally) so it will still drain the battery, if slowly. Personally if you're going to take the battery out to turn it round I would just add in a thin insulator (little disc of plastic) instead. with my edc I don't do either as its used at least a couple of times a day. I carry a spare battery for mine, it's a single AA battery after all, so it's pretty small.

    • @mikavink5307
      @mikavink5307 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it will have more battery if you would turn it around (and it is turned on)

      I agtee. Why would I need anything like this? All the roads I travel are in well civilized areas. I never find myself in a backwoods survival environment. My edc is focused on self defense....pepper spray, knife, tactical pen and keychain, and God forbid, a gun. I keep a Gerber dime on hand since it's so small, a larger multitool in my car, as well as a lighter and flashlight, two charged batteries for my phone.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +srg914 Small kits are not the opposite of carrying a gun, because a person could easily carry a gun in addition to a small kit. Small kits are not the opposite of a larger kit, because a small kit doesn't prevent you from making a variety of kits of different sizes to fit different situations.

  • @BennyCFD

    These little survival kits wont really save anybodys life. If you're serious serious get a cheap day pack. You can at least have some food, water, small cheap gas stove or homemade alcohol stove, first aid, an extra pair of socks, underwear, shirt and pants, flash light, batteries and everything you have in a miniature kit plus much much more in a small pack you can keep in your car 24/7. You might as well have something that you can actually survive with.

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      BennyCFD First, let us get rid of the silly assumption that nothing can be useful unless it "saves someone's life." There is an EDC or "Every Day Carry" side to this kit, which has nothing to do with saving your life. Many of these items are just useful day to day for utility. So, you need to be clear on the terms being used. Second, it has a few items like the firestarting materials that could actually save you, and I will make zero apologies for that. Your assumption that you will always be able to carry a larger kit is not true. And last, your assumption that carrying a small single pouch kit somehow prevents you from also carrying a larger one, when practical, is flawed. It is not an either-or situation.

    • @MichaelFingDixon
      @MichaelFingDixon 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BennyCFD Look no amount of materials or tools will ever save anyone, unless you have the know how. A lot of the know how people should learn is adaptability. There are so many things that have multiple uses, most you probably haven't thought of. It's all about using what's around you, having tools to help make other things work. Just makes it quicker and easier. If you really want to survive get a decent knife, that's all you'll ever need. Fire, water, and shelter can all be made from whats around you with a knife.
