L Grind is Better than T for a "steeper" Player's or if you tend to be More Out to In (cutty). Shallower Delivery and/or more of an In to Out (draw) Delivery. "L" is for "Leftie", BV's custom Grind for Phil Mickelson, back when Phil was still affiliated with Titleist. T Grind is very close to a 'low Bounce' M Grind, with D Grind being a 'high Bounce' M.
I’m looking at getting the 58-4T grind. I’ve been using my Vokey 54-10S around the greens in Corpus and sometimes struggle. I’m thinking the 4 degree bounce will really help on the thin lies here. Bermuda can be brutal around these greens.
I carry a 54° S Grind and a 58° T Grind. I will use the S Grind when I want less Spin off a Tight Lie or when I want More Bounce, such as from longer Grass or if the Ball is sitting up (Flyer Lie) The T Grind comes into play when I want More Height and/or More Spin from Tighter/Firmer/Thin Lies. Choosing the "Right Tool" for the circumstances of the overall situation.
Good comparison video. I live in the Northeast where high bounce wedges work well but have a trip to Scottsdale coming up and want to add a low bounce lob wedge to the bag for the expected conditions. This video was perfect for timing.
The T grind has been the biggest surprise addition to my bag this year. Living in Michigan, we can go from the softest to the firmest turf just from location, month or combo of both. I’ve always been a D grind for its forgiveness in soft conditions but still playable in firmer turf but not optimal. But now having a T grind for the summer months and travel to firmer places is just a great option to switch to.

The other issue that not a lot of people think about is bunkering/sand depth. You could play a course that is soft but has firm sand! What do you then?! Maybe your sand wedge could be D, M, or S, but the T is magic! Great idea to have an extra wedge option for travel to different places!
@Wrobs01 I am a Michigander as well. I put a 54 and 58 in the bag last year both 12D and didn’t get along with them at all. Thinking of moving to a 54.08M and 58.04T this year. Any buyers remorse given the conditions we get here?
@bogeygolf1520 I like my 54D as it's my primary pitching and less than full shot club inside a 100 so like the forgiveness and versatility with the higher bounce. M or T grind would be a great option in the 58, I gravitated to the T for my trip to Pinehurst as it worked well there and I found it personally more forgiving than the M but your mileage may vary. I recently however switched to edel wedges for the year to fit with irons better but I still keep my T grind for trips to firm surfaces and just like the grind to much to give it up if I start to struggle with the new 60
Great video! I just ended up getting a new set of the wedges and I ended up going with a 58 4T and a 54 12D in my higher loft wedges. Since I will be playing tournament golf this summer and I won't know the conditions of every course, my coach and I decided to get a high and low bounce wedge to adjust for that. I also play golf in college! I live in northern WV but since I go to school around Lexington KY, I play a variety of turfs. When I tried the T out for the first time I was hesitant because of how low the bounce was but I can literally hit every shot I need to hit with it. Opening the face up doesn't worry me a bit but I'm still able to nip it it and hit a low spinner. It's a fantastic wedge for sure!!

When I was looking through some pro players WITB’s (specifically Titleist staffers) I noticed a lot of them went high bounce sand wedge,low bounce lob wedge. For example, Will Zalatoris has a 10S sand wedge and a 4T lob wedge. That’s when I went to my coach and asked him about having a variety of bounces and he said that it was a great idea!
@@huntergraham47 Jordan Spieth also has a 56° S and his 60° T. I currently have a 46° & 50°, both 08° F along with a 54°- 10° V Grind and a 58° -06° (Low Bounce) K Grind. I like the versatility of having 3 Different Soles plus, basically a Strong and a Weak PW I live in Southern California generally Firm and Tight where the 58° comes in handy. The 54° is my go to from any Situation where the Ball sits up above the Ground, or in Deeper Sand . Vokey doesn't offer the V Grind anymore, so I am considering a 54° S and a 58° T to replace mine with.

For sure a better firm turf wedge. D grind, especially flatter, will wreak havoc on the specialty shots. The M grind is an in between, make sure you try both! Test, test, test! Use the bare carpet in the store to hit bump and runs (my secret!) if you don’t have access to an outdoor fitting! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Csmith thanks for watching and commenting. The L grind is great for opening the face in softer conditions. The T grind for firmer sand and turf. The trailing edge on the L grind is less aggressively cambered and adds a bumper for anti-dig.
Thanks for watching and comment Jorge! If you play thin lies, S or M is definitely the recommendation. D would be really close to your Z grind. In my opinion, a little too much grind to get through tighter lies.
@golfcoachpaul You chunked and bladed that grind 80% of the shots. Sure the 20% you hit well looked the coolest. But for score in the long run I think it would be worse. Better for highlight reel and worse for score. You aren't a bad pitcher of the ball but you aren't great either.

Cuts through the grass. You can open it up without the leading edge hovering over the tight lies. So sharp
