knowing yourself is the furthest thing from narcissism. actions considered narcissistic - to me at least - more about hurting + bringing down others/perceiving others as a threat to feel better about one's own lack. the opposite of knowing yourself deeply and being at peace with who you are
Yes and no. Pathological narcissism is absolutely rooted in insecurity, it's a maladaptive self defense strategy usually rooted in emotional neglect or abuse in childhood. But it's not inherently oriented towards hurting others, that's more of an unavoidable side effect that results from fundamentally being unable to accurately center another persons emotional needs and perception. There are plenty that are genuinely cruel and mean-natured, but that's sort of secondary and case by case. Many narcissism-forward people genuinely don't intend to hurt others or bring them down, they just live in a world of nearly impenetrable projection. It's what happens when you take the cognitive bias that every human has, but instead of slightly skewing perceptions in a way that can be pointed out to the individual and potentially re-evaluated, it's a nigh-impervious steel barrier with defense protocols that will nearly always sacrifice the well being of the other to maintain fortitude of the self, defensively if not vindictively. That's why the deciding factor of whether a person with Narcissistic personality disorder might possibly change or not, depends solely on whether they want to. If they somehow see that they are the common denominator, and actively seek help and paths towards growth, there is hope. If not, no chance. You don't just grow out of it, unfortunately.
Funnily enough, truly getting to know yourself through and through, including the less than ideal, is a crucial part of growing beyond harmful narcissistic thought patterns. Accepting that having faults and personal shortcomings is unavoidable and not the end of the world, is often the hardest part lol
I’m fairly sure the first time I really decided to stop eating meat was a moment where I was eating strawberries as a snack while with my horses. They both showed interest once they got the scent of them and I shared some. They seemed to relish this new to them flavor so much it was clear it went farther than just the instinct to eat. They were savoring them, gently chewing and rolling their tongues to really take in the taste fully.
Well, they do have a lot of sugar in them so of course anything would like them. They’re addicting we made them hybridize. They’re too big too much sugar for us. Its sad that you quit eating something that we absolutely need which is meat has everything in it that we need!
I'm obsessed. I finally understand this in a way that touches me to move me 1) Notebook Hidden. Pocket sized, resourceful. Investigative or intuitive foresight 2) Flame Erratic. Dancing free. Burning at both ends just to breathe. Burning up - embarrassed, hot tempered, passionate 3) Pearl Protected. Knowing not to cast before swine. Purity, dignity. Deep mystery waters. I love the sea 4) Grandfather clock Roman numerals for their mythology and groundedness. Time as a conceptual decoration and reminder. Dali 5) Bubble Iridescent play. Easily burst. Ungrounded 6) Stained glass windows Pristine. Still. Textured, detailed, crafted. Solitude in a crowd. Worship. Colourful 7) A circus performer My personality sold as entertainment. Traveller. Man of leisure. Freak. Loose cannon 8) A shooting star Wandering soul. Lost, unearthly. Self-sacrificial, burning idealist. Attention seeker 9) Ribbon Romantic, sensual, tie me up and tie me down. Easily undone 10) Dragon egg Old magic, possibility, power. Cycles
~ My ten symbols ~ • Classic spiral staircases {because my ideas always spiral and lead me to existential resolutions of pure contemplation and beauty} • Black & White victorian tiles {It reminds me of the house I lived in when I was a child, I always saw myself reflected between the floors interspersed in white and black. Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland too - one of my favorite films} • White dresses - silk, lace, ruffles, puff sleeves etc {I believe it is a fair representation of who I am through fashion: white gothic Victorian doll} • Statues { 1. Conscious response: Because it is a way of valuing the human body and I am proud to be one} 2. Unconscious response: I lowkey fear statues, despite their gracefulness, I secretly think that each statue has a soul embedded inside and they are alive but performing to us}. • Tree roots and branches {I made a painting when I was 15 of a tree with long roots and long branches with a big human heart in the middle. This is life - literally.} • Candles - in a beautiful candlestick {I like how the flames dance in the dark and create images. Reminds me of Plato's Cave - I love the philosophy of the World of Ideas} • Cello {I've been playing since I was 12} • Pearls {I love how they are formed, in addition to their gracefulness. I always wear two giant pearl necklaces.} • White roses {because in the white queen's palace (aka me) -Wonderland- we don't paint the roses red.} • Horses figures {I currently live in a neighborhood called 'Horse' and also because my grandmother had a vase with a sculpture of a horse - it was BEAUTIFUL - that she loved and I broke when I was a child. Horses chase me (literally).}
@@HeavenSentHoney Everywhere I go, before I enter any establishment, to be honest with my authenticity, I like to listen to Swan Lake's cello solos. It makes me feel *extremely* powerful and moving. I love incorporating Odette (soft, delicate), but also Odile (bold, impactful, unpredictable) into my presence. I believe it is one of my magnetism and ethereal "tricks".
@@dasilvalara188 Your comment is very inspiring. I also use Swan Lake “imagery” in a similar way. A well rounded person has a full set of features, good and bad, light and shadow. For most of my life I’ve been a “white swan”, modest, sensible, humble and sweet to a point where I felt I had become a caricature of myself. Getting into a “black swan headspace” has helped me feel ok with feeling and being angry, proud, jealous, passionate, competitive, sensual and such many things that felt prohibited to me before. A whole, complete person. I was starting to think I was going mad for doing this but reading your comment made me remember that it’s ok to have a little bit of madness in us :)
“it was rewarding to myself to find out i had definition” is such a beautiful line. I audibly said wow and stopped my car so i could type this. What a wonderful sentiment
I love the prompt you included!! My 10 things would be: 1: A ginger tea bag its my favourite type of tea and I have at least 2 cups a day 2: A pen with a chewed cap- an annoying habit of mine when I'm thinking alot which is most of the time 3: Headphones- I wear them everyday, sometimes all day, I live for music 4: A sewing needle- I love to make my own clothes and alter what I have! 5: Nail polish- I love to paint my nails, its the easiest self care practice that I can count on myself to do 6: A typewriter- I have such an appreciation of slow habits and antiques 7: A lace bralette- lingerie is the easiest way and most comfortable way for me to embrace my sexuality, I wear it for myself without feeling like I'm performing for others 8: An afro comb- I take alot of pride in my hair and in embracing its coils, its my big f you to western beauty standards 9: A veil- I loveeeee iconography, there's something so sacred about veiling 10: Glitter- It's beautiful and fun but so so messy and easily irritating (my duality)
The end part of staying away from Instagram was so relatable. I am a teenager and in our circle, social media really matters. I am mildly "popular" on Instagram and because of that also in real life, and that Instagram was really eating me alive. I have been staying away from it for a few months now and quite often feel like I am missing out and I'm going to lose it all, popularity. But your quote that u cant listen to ur own heartbeat in a crowd REALLY felt good. I want to thank you dearly
my family didn’t have much money while i was growing up and i was an only child- so the existentialism of being on my own, figuring out who i am/what i like & dislike really helped to shape who i am. i delved into art, i learned how to communicate with people, i played around with my style, because it’s all i COULD do or i felt i was going to wither away. everyone always tells me i’m so sure of myself, so confident, and it was like well… there’s really nothing else i could have done!
My 10 symbols 1. Orchids 2. Plain blank pages of paper - to have a space where you can do whatever you want all according to your hearts desire. A blank page doesn't care, it doesn't judge it just exist 3. Panthers/ cats- interacting with them feels so ephemeral. How i have to be really aware of their response. I think i associate with their strong sense of boundaries and being elusive. 4. Glass bowls with those intricate designs 5. Mirrors- 6. Comb - i love combs and i wish i can use it more but I have curly hair. The idea of it detangling and removing chaos and knots 7. Pens 8. Coins - the sparkly, silver pieces of coins i regular use for my commute to uni. I have gone to places, saw beautiful sights and experienced so much of life bcs of the little coins i carry. The concept of money feels silly esp when you have to pay with this small pieces of metal. 9. Rosary/cross- will always love the carvings and the design. Still a wonder how they created in with metal 10. Keys - its symbolism and the concept of keys. How a closed room can be opened if i just had the right keys in my hands. I have never really thought of doing this activity for introspection. I am familiar with the practice but i have usually done this with nature and ideas of it but not the thing i regularly interact with. I will definitely start seeing some objects different now
1. Butterflies - i like that they symbolize evolution or something that has stages.I love that they can be both ugly and beautiful at the same time. Beautiful more so with the wings, but minus the wings their caterpillar self is not as alluring. Butterflies are also short lived, you notice them in the fraction of a second...you can't/shouldn't necessarily purpose to capture them...but the want/desire to do so is there. Butterflies gracing your presence, let alone resting on your finger or shoulder is such a gift. 2. I love the colour silver and it's grey under tones, more silver accessories. Love how they look against dark skin. To the world silver can sometimes feel devoid of colour, but i see it as the perfect blend of black and white which forms grey, but with a bonus shiny persona on top that calls out to you. Silver reminds me of a wet glossy full moon. It makes me feel as if the darkness finally got some light and now we peep to see glimpses of it through shadows in all their glory. 3. Silks, black lace and yarn. The softness of silk is very playful yet sensual.feels like someone blowing soft air on your skin. Lace is defiant, love that it insists on its host being seen. It feels like an intense, friendly, dangerous invitation to look at and touch. I Love yarn too and what comes of it, crotchet pieces to be specific...funny how the repetition of one single stitch can form a complex pattern, that then transforms into fibre pieces. From outside looking in, one can wonder what sorcery is this, while truth is it all stems from the secret and flow of one single move/stitch. Like a piece made from yarn, I appear compact/complex/magical and hard to digest...buy my favourite people and things are those that discover the patterns and can unravel me down all the way to the original piece of thread.
You have a wonderful, artistic mind. Don’t change for anyone other than for yourself. ❤ My 10: 1)Hyacinth 2)Talon nails -beautiful, dangerous, otherworldly creature born of nature and equal to nature 3)Cicada shells -Transformation begins on the inside and then out 4) feathers used as bookmarks, stuffed inside books -create a bed of knowledge to dream upon, to visit other worlds and dreamwalk 5) tuffs of deer fur 6) Dianic stones; circular white quartz -wishes 7) blank notebook and a black ballpoint pen - doodle with all the possibility of a blank page 8) mesquite thorns 9) pockets filled with rocks -treasure and gifts are everywhere! If you know where to look. 10) maple leaf - beauty is fleeting, so pay attention and be one with the moment
1. Mermaid. - Mystical beauty, melancholia, solitude, otherwordliness. The ultimate muse. 2. A fan - Fans are usually very pretty objects decorated on the inside with some sort of motif that is only visible once you open them. A hidden work of art that helps you breathe. Reminder of beauty being vital to life and not just the one you can see. 3. Black Cat - Independence, mystery, elegance, intuition, hidden knowledge. 4. A gun - Protection but also danger but most importantly freedom and self-reliance. 5. The "Belgravia White" - A special hue of an 'off white' color found on the houses in the Belgravia district in London. One of the most affluent neighborhoods in the world. It represents something opulent, untouchable and exclusive that most people will never be able to access. It is the color of the soul. 6. Spring - New beginnings, rebirth, reinvention, hope. Reminding me every year that it is never too late. 7. A pair of sunglasses. - An impenetrable veil between you and the rest of the world that only you can remove if you so choose. A very powerful symbol of protection. Never leave the house without them sun or no sun. 8. Bottle of perfume - A symbol of effortless influence, almost like casting a spell. Scent can stir up all sorts of emotions, feelings and memories within seconds. Not bad for something you cannot see, hear or touch but only smell. 9. Number 11 - Not my birth day nor my birth month but I am still drawn to this number and thus have designated it as my lucky number. The element of luck (always being on my side) is a symbol of great importance. 10. Hair Comb - The power of ritual and discipline required to maintain order and beauty.
As a male creative, engineer / musician youtuber / INFJ empath...general weirdo I guess, your content really, really speaks to me. Thanks for posting your insights!!! Please dont stop posting!
1. mechanical pencil - my favorite and go to drawing/writing utensil. efficient and reliable 2. oil slick- iridescent, psychedelic rainbow swirls in a dirty crude puddle 3. wizards - magic, alchemy, ancient esoteric knowledge 4. dried flowers - nature frozen in time, preserving herbal properties, witchy 5. tea (an arnold palmer) - love any kind of tea with a splash of lemon and sugar, classic, perfection 6. the stars - i love how they sparkle, i also love astrology and what certain constellations symbolize 7. chrome nails - makes me feel magical seeing the light reflect off my nails, shifting of colors 8. a perfectly rolled joint - yummy, soothing, a stoner vixen vibe 9. dark chocolate with sea salt - yummy, classic, delicious 10. incense - cleansing, spirituality, intention setting
My main thought upon finishing this video is, I'm so glad I found your channel, you're a gem. I'm gonna go work on this ten objects thing. One of them has to be a 75 cent yellow spiral notebook. Nine to go 💭✨
5 symbols that i feel represent me- Broken hourglass- Sometimes i feel immortal, like i’ve quite literally broken the hourglass, stopped the hands of time. Name signature- Reminds me of my namelessness. Ever since i was a child i’ve wanted to change my name, but no matter how many i go through nothing fits and i always move on to another. Hair- My hair has always been important to me. The way it looks, feels. Looking after it is a kind of discipline that feels like it’s always been with me. Hair has always been tied to confidence for me, i always feel the shift in myself when it’s hair wash day. Candlelight- Im typically scared of fire, but candlelight brings elegance and beauty to my fears. It shows me that fear and admiration have much in common. Wings- Represents my internal battle of immortality/humanity. Sometimes i feel like i’m waiting for something/someone to come along and tell me that i’m meant to be doing something else, that i don’t belong here. I look at the crowd going about their day and i don’t envy them, but i share this earth with them and i’m human until otherwise.
Could you do a video on your favorite beauty products? Hair, makeup, perfume, etc. I think it goes well with the idea that we're drawn to certain things because of what we associate with them. Like scents, some women like sweet, girly smells while others like mature, sultry scents.
An object that symbolizes me is the choker i made out of a large pink wooden button. Because it was something that was broken and taken apart and made by me into something more useful and beautiful to me. And i think it symbolizes my self transformation over the years!
The first object is my table bcs it's full of flaws, it's crooked and has it's own style while being so solid. As unperfect as it seems, I love it bcs it's reflects me and my love for the ugly, for the unloved. It doesn't have to hold up a facade, be perfect for anyone to buy it bcs I'm here to love it. And someone might love me too, for my ugly inner self, which I'm showing right from the beginning, to filter out people who might be worthy of me. Loving the unloved. The second thing is my mortar, bcs no matter what day it is, in use or not, it stays here solid and ready. And while I'm not in the need of it every day, it has its own privacy from time to time. But I thank god to have it when I need it bcs no one could do his job and he is a specialist in what he does.
An object that symbolizes me is a Persian rug, when i moved out of my parents home to live by myself ( I had to leave and cut off all contact because of years of living in an unsafe environment). I had no money and no furniture and choose a random city to live in where I knew almost no one . One of the first items I got needed to be carefully picked out and have multiple uses. But even on a budget i know it needed to be beautiful. I used it to sit on as I had no couch, used it to eat and chill on and so on. The funny thing is that I loved it and I found that I wanted to sit close to the ground even when I later had money to buy a couch, I almost never used it and mostly sat on the carpet with my back against the sofa. So for me this object brought so much peace, gratitude for what I have and creativity to make use of what I have instead of always longing for more. Things that are very important to me and kept me sane. I will always remember this phase of my life and will never have a house without one. ✨
I saw the comment on your video about symbols that mentioned the portrait of symbols!! so great to see you suggesting it in a video. Here are the most important of mine: The first thing that came to mind was a pearl. I'm obsessed with them, I recently had a dream that I had pearls for fingernails and now I'm fixated on them. Like the dictionary of symbols says, they represent the moon and femininity, but also wisdom and new beginnings. I feel like my life is starting anew and my friends always turn to me for advice, I don't know why but maybe that means I'm wise. Next was lace, specifically old and white. Nostalgia, delicacy, interconnectedness, and brides. I'm a very nostalgic and emotionally (sometimes physically) delicate person. I feel connected to everything. Everything is tied to something else, and eventually tied to me. I don't see myself getting married, but I am very loyal and I "fall in love" platonically very often. A particularly fragrant rose. Most flowers, really. But roses almost universally mean passion, and passion is my blood. Beauty and sensuality are what I live for. There is so much beauty and therefor so many roses. The strong fragrance I picture goes with how important all sensory input is to me, especially as an autistic person. Lastly, a fern. I know them to mean eternal youth which fits how I often dip into moods where I feel like I have the eyes of a child again. I laugh like one too. Victorians saw them to mean humility and sincerity. I can't do anything without full sincerity. If I don't mean it, I don't do it. Extras i wont explain for the sake of brevity :rouge, bottle of gold flakes, albino crow, quilts, and an ornate brass cross. This was so much fun!! Thinking about these things is always so enriching. Your videos are a gift, Celine :)
My 10 items. 1) Shells 🐚 I love the stories they tell and I’ve collected them for years. 2) I’ve always loved stories I also love trees 🌲 for that same reason. 3) lipstick i can feel real insecure at times but lipstick has a way of fixing that on my worst days.💄 4) perfume has always captivated me my mom had such a love for it and she always would smell so good. It’s what keeps me connected to her I feel. 5) old doorknobs they look like crystals to me when I was a young girl I thought they were treasure. 6) chandeliers) I’ve always found them to be so elegant and they remind me of a beautiful hotel or restaurant elegance in general really. 7) candles 🕯 they are so magical and comforting to me. 8) violets I would pick them as a girl and give them as gifts to the ones i love it’s also my favorite color. 9) incense remind me of church but also have always been a tool I use for anxiety, spell work, and my favorite aunt would always burn patchouli scented ones growing up and the smell has so much warm memories and also is my signature scent. 10) glitter. It reminds me of pixie dust and it heals my inner child.
1. Abandoned romanic monastery 2. Heart ripped out 3. Jorge Luis Borges- La casa de Asterión 4. Empty beach in Portugal 5. An antique market in the woods 6. An old photo of a beautiful young nun 7. A tiny black bikini 8. Long black hair 9. Black big harpy 10. Porcelain doll
This is a delicious morning journal prompt, thank you so much 🙏 I'm working on my list right now but the one that has surprised me so far is a piece of a chandelier hung up somewhere strange, because I might be elegant if I weren't so out of place. Sending love 🖤
Ive unknowingly practiced this within a compartment inside of my jewelry box.... Here's what I have: A rosary kept inside a small silver box A small cartoon panda charm Interesting and beautiful buttons from various shirts and coats A fish lure An empty shotgun shell Links from watches adjusted to size A red matchbox with gold accents and a juggler illustration on top A mantra pendant inside said matchbox A pressed penny of a bat from the zoo An empty rifle shell I consider these items fragments of myself compiled over time... They don't have much memory attached to them, but theyre the most kept items I've had stored away ... The buttons may represent my need to be prepared for when things fall apart... The rosary and the matchbox may be a theme for something I keep secret and sacred... The panda charm may reveal something about my sense of humor It's interesting to think about how people can kind of collect specific items subconsciously that reveal so much about themselves ... Thanks for the exercise.
This reminds me of my grandfather! I suppose he passed down this practice of keeping discarded unusual things to me. He would renovate apartments and keep small things that were left behind. Things like a mini magnifying glass, bracelet attachments, small dislodged gems, cigarette cases, colored buttons. I never got to ask him why he kept these oddities, but he thought they were interesting enough not to discard. Lovely comment.
Broken glass - dangerous but beautiful especially when it is old and colored. Reminds me of being a child in the west and picking of the old pieces of whiskey and perfume bottles. Cats - any big or small, graceful and sweet but also the apex predator. Simultaneously hello kitty, maneki Neko and the saber or the jaguar. Respect. Green - my name is Jade and this is my favorite color and the color of the things that I love: plants, emeralds, turquoise, and jade. Leather boots - one element that has always been a part of my style is a good leather boot. Cowboy, biker, punk. Gun - the hunt, protection and beauty if you find the right one. Book - many genres or a note book, I always have had my face in one. Scissors - always what I’m looking for or what I need, the greatest tool in my life. Feathers - collecting from my moms green macaw, an owl, sapsuckers, and our peacocks, my native heritage Fire - candles, reading by the oil lamp when there was no power, the warmth of the fireplace after a day in the cold. Spring - sowing of seeds, rebirth, growth, and anticipation
1 carbonated water - the zest, the spark, the shaping up of the ordinary 2 yuzu (scent) - there's a lightness to the scent in my eyes, and it screams a muted freshness 3 tan skin - freedom, playfulness, and vitality 4 flowers (i have all floral type casing for my devices, and floral everything) - romanticism, a push to return to nature, an appreciation for the cycles of the world 5 sinigang - my favourite dish of all time. its taste and tangy notes breaks the pattern of so much of the foods i eat. its bright and wakeful. 6 football - the beauty of the game. i love it to death. the aggression, the rise, the fall, the stories, the players and teams that i attach so much meaning to. 7 soft fabrics (e.g., knitted clothes) - softness (literally), comfort--an embrace, a casual way of life 8 burning a matchstick (reminds me to live in the moment, i love how quickly it starts and goes) - a calmness in watching it burn, the brief flicker urges me to stay in the present 9 earthy tones - subtle but strong 10 bidets (this one seems a tad nonsensical but jajaja i love my bidets i even got a portable one for weird ass countries that don't have bidets as the norm) - freshness, cleanliness, and faith
my (i guess 7) things (for now): a small book: not a lot in there but once you open it it could open your eyes a raspberry: small perfect imbalance of sweet and sour you never know which one you’ll get water: always on the move almost never really settles a mirror: you can see yourself but truly never just the real you, naked truth a blade: can build you up just as good as it can break you down a shrub: always in the shadow of a much much larger tree but just as beautiful lolita: most times people choose to just misunderstand and stay away rather than getting close and at least trying to understand
"since middle school on i’ve been borderline obsessed with defining myself because for a long time I was really all that I had” same twin same and I’m definitely going thru it again I’m in love with discovering myself and my own mind and my world and my thoughts and my home within myself like you said lol thanks never heard anyone ever say this
It's my birthday today and this is the kind of message I had hoped to stumble upon in order to set meaningful intentions for the year ahead! Thank you Celine
My issue is I feel I know who I am.. but I have a really hard time “being” I feel in moments I am myself but I also feel there’s so much more I could do for the sake of myself but I’m always thinking of molding myself for those around me.
I haven’t done the whole exercise yet because I’m reading and looking at my Pinterest but the number one thing that jumped out to me in my head was red paint. Thick, oozing red paint. So passionate and angry, to be used in expressions of madness or love. To show the warmth and liveliness of the world when creating images. It looks like life, it belongs everywhere.
Listened to this as I made breakfast, what a way to start the day! So, here are my ten objects! A bottle of high quality, luxurious, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. I love to cook and evoo is my favourite oil to cook with, I genuinely think it's liquid gold and there's something mystical to it. A rabbit made of lapis lazuli. One of my nicknames is 'bunny' and lapis is my favourite precious stone, if I could get home decor that was all lapis I would. A gold and emerald box for my tarot cards. I love to do tarot and my cards deserve a beautiful box. A massive lemon tree. I just really love lemons, I think they're underutilized in cooking. A massive Nazar eye. I believe in the evil eye so having a Nazar to protect me would be useful. A pink Dutch oven in the shape of a heart. I love my Dutch oven, I think it's so wonderful, but having one that's pink and heart shaped would heal me I think. A platter of smoked salmon. I just really love smoked salmon, in fact I had it as part of my breakfast! A snow leopard. I love love love them so much I think they're so elegant and beautiful and mysterious I just worship them. Marilyn Monroe's original journals. I just love her so much and I really want to peer into her inner world. The Bvlgari serpenti sapphire echo necklace. Listen I love snakes and that necklace looks so beautiful I would actually die if I got it. I'd never take it off
"It's really hard to hear the sound of your heartbeat in the middle of a crowd." That is Heaven Sent Honey to my ears. Thinking about putting that sentence in a frame and hang it to my room some day when I have one. 👏 My objects: 1. Small rocks from places where I felt alive, a sea shore, a forest etc. 2. An orange tesbih left from my grandfather. (It's an object consisting of small beads used for praying) Has a meaning of patience and time for me. 3. A rectangle, brown, wallet like tobacco purse made of suede leather. Because I like to roll my own cigarettes for various reasons. 4. A small pocket size notebook and a small, lead pencil. Always have it with me cause you don't know when you will get the muses. 5. A coin or two in that little pocket of my jean because of an advice my father gave me when I was little. 6. Mirrors that reflect other mirror reflections. That always had something deep for me when I see it. Like the variations possible, the infinite identities getting smaller and smaller originated from the first and the biggest one. Kinda philosophical... 7. Color green because of a comic book that used it as a symbol of willpower (Yes, it's Green Lantern, the movie sucked. The comic was totally something else. Written by Geoff Johns.) 8. The song "Englishman in New York" I think the song tells why. 9. A metal whistle, left from my grandfather as well. He would carry it on his neck with a metal chain for earthquake situations. Always a reminder to understand we cannot tame nature all together and you need to have a breath to call for help in those kind of situations not just for earthquakes. Talking metaphorically here. 10. The last object I think is a bag of some sort to carry everything I might need in most of the situations I might get into. I always wanna be able to get on a trip, always ready to go somewhere I want. I maybe go out once or twice a year without a bag. My friends always tell me why do you always have a bag. To them I say, "I want to be ready to run off whenever I want." And right now, as I write these words, I don't have a bag with me. I don't feel naked and I have changed cities once before when I didn't have a bag. That was a time when I felt alive.
portrait of symbols : 1. black linen shirt with white cathair - in the background, never too obvious but subtle softness only visible in dark backgrounds. 2. Telescope - ever changing perspective and interest. 3. hanger pole - many jackets to wear but rigidly naked underneath. 4. Silicon hand - used and dusty. 5. Geometric lamps - structured but malleable for the imagination, transformative. Structured chaos. 6. Blue hat - safeness, protection , a gentle server. 7. plastic nails - diligant and floating colourful curiousity. 8. A trail of used tissue - sensitivity to surroundings and external factors. 9. Headphones - emersed within the beauty found inside the sounds of hearing ones heartbeat. 10. Grey chipped smooth concrete - soft for used , hard for function but not hard enough. 11. Cubism - a trend practiced and interesting only for the dead. 12. Wooden bench - uncomfortable for long term use but beautiful for experiencing events. 13. Glossy wooden spiral staircase - inconherent and lost, nostalgia , feeling of fleeting moments , slippery when thoughts are in a hurry..hard to go back to them. 14. Kids slide - silly, childlike, an object to collect dust when not interacted with lively beings, misused.
One of the things that symbolizes me is metaphors because im not really that brave when it comes to expressing myself and so as a writer metaphors help me write about whatever i want without fear of being exposed you can hide a world inside the seed of a flower with metaphors and only those who are observant enough to see through my metaphors in my opinion they are the ones who would understand me and try to understand me
My 10 symbols My name is Malina Callie 1. Tea cup. - drank tea full of cream & honey as a child and in this moment. In my hands always there but ever changing cups, grew with me. Some broken, some somewhere still put together. But a tea cup always in my hands. 2. Pillow. - I was homeschooled my whole life & my parents didn’t care how long I slept or when I went to sleep. For almost everyday of my life, I’ve slept in until 11-5pm. I always said i wish I could live inside my dreams instead of the waking world. 3. Blank book. - Entries ready to be written. Images ready to be drawn. But empty until I fill it? 4. A hand. - my hands have always been there for me, but have also hurt me the most. My hands have helped me create my mind’s ideas. My hands have poured my tea. My hands have gotten cold. I feel myself mostly in my hands. 5. An amplifier. - until recently I’ve pushed myself to speak up. Speak my truth & how I feel. I’ve spent years shushing my own mouth, and telling “be quiet” to my cries. I must turn on the amplifier of my heart & let it play. I’ve also seen this object follow me through out my life due to playing guitar since I was six years old. 6. Snowflake. - I feel like one. All of it. 7. A clock. - I must say I am afraid of time. And how I it keeps moving when I want it to stay still. But nothing can stop, not even my mind, my body, this life. 8. A pen. - I can write whatever I desire but like the pen I myself will come to an end. Malina will be no more. 9. Ribbons. - I love to give & with gifts I tie ribbons. I won’t give a gift without one. It completes it for me. I’ve tied it all together and it’s ready to be received. The process is not only for me to enjoy, but the one who finds the gift in their hands. 10. Fire. - it’s dangerous. It’s deadly. But it keeps us warm, cooks our food, soothes our senses. I lived many places but anytime in my hometown (where I live now for the 4th time) my grandfather always had a fire burning anytime it’s cold. In his home or outside by the woods. I let myself write, and only listen to what came to my mind. Lovely videos you share! I have witnessed a few & I enjoy & feel myself expand each time!
>Clam shells-both open & closed symbolizes my openness to showing my authentic self & protection of true self. >Dandelion wildflower seedhead encased in lucite paperweight - one of the most resilient, nutritional, valuable plants symbolizes my alternative lifestyle being seen as misunderstood/unacceptable... like a “weed”. Now fruitless, trapped inside unable to fulfill its natural destiny. (Yikes. You really do learn something while doing this exercise.) >Capodimonte/Metal flowers- Fine Italian porcelain & metal handcrafted by artisans to resemble lifelike flowers. Both delicate, fragile & unbreakable, strong everlasting. Trying to capture & freeze a moment in time. >Japanese Kintsugi dish- badly broken but in lieu of discarding it was instead repaired to be more beautiful than ever. The golden cracks now flaws to be admired. >Dead dried plants/seed pods - Beauty in the decay often times more poetic & beautiful than other more vibrant life stages >Brass Mask Sculpture - reminds me to hang the mask up, be my authentic self, and no longer mask my autism or true nature. >Foraged Dried Ganoderma Mushrooms - once grew on tall trees in my backyard/woods, as a child I would hunt for them & paint scenes on them. Reminds me to play again. >Chrysalis- my transformation happens from within often in a solitary state. >Brass Bleeding Heart Iconography/sculpture - intriguing life lessons from catholic upbringing both damaged me and opened me. >Phoenix symbolism - Rebirth. Resilience.
An object that symbolizes me is a bolero or long sleeve shrug. I made this second version with a selective color that is now my signature (burgandy) this version was a handstitched peice with corded lace of matching color that bring texture to the peice with the base being hand drawn by my own hand . The resulting peice became a creation with love and luxury
random, and i’m sure you’ve watched/read it, but your statement about the dichotomy of natural and artificial reminds me a lot of a clockwork orange. that film and novel is endlessly fascinating to me
You have very interesting videos. As an herbalist, I find out little by little more about myself through the herbs I found, The colours of herbs can influence different meanings. Some herbs represents different kind of love, brotherly love some represents motherly love. Some symbolise faith. Some for bitterness. They are ofcourse not objects. But i though i like to mention it.❤
Fingernails, crumpled paper, a dark shadow, fresh laundry, hot coffee, 2 glass marbles, a velvet rug, a swinging pendulum, a cigarette nesting in an ashtray. & perhaps a static radio station. Why? I'll tell no one
I loved this fluxus idea. I kinda always did it with things that I decided to let go - even if I love them, they are too old or too attached to my soon-be-old-era or I was just not using anymore and some else will love to have them. - It's kinda good. I also love taking pics of make up and clothes and objects I used while travelling.
My 10 symbols, based on common visuals in my art and stuff in my room. Don't have the energy to psychoanalyze myself right now just putting this into the world. Colored wires, especially when used as replacement for something else (veins, IV, hair) Pigeon Feathers I found in The Netherlands Blue Grey, my favorite color Crosses (I don't know what this is about i was raised secular) Rocks from my cabin up north. My favorite one is this smooth black one I like rubbing Distorted eyes (red, has swirls or color or symbols inside of them) Big floppy wizard hat that my cartoon persona wears Hand carved wooden chicken, my favorite in my bird figurine collection. Quill from an african porcupine from a zoo store. Its stained red on both tips because I use it to mold clay. Dig Dug 2 poster my dad got me from the pinball convention one year.
Ive always had this mental image of a dagger… for years now. I think they’re beautiful, I want tattoos of them, I want jewelry with them, maybe I even want a pretty one for decoration. And I haven’t exactly figured out why I love the symbolism of the dagger so much, but I feel spiritually connected to it. It just feels like me. Maybe, swift, hard, easy protection? Unsheathed and ready to deliver a blow in a moment? I imagine the heaviness of someone bringing a dagger down to flesh- agony, anger, despair, fierceness, clarity, madness. I could see these all being emotions behind the use of one. I do not want something so intense to be the only thing that defines me though. I crave softness and balance. But when I try to be soft and angelic, it feels so forced and fake… like I’m not doing it right. I don’t know
Maybe because I am only used to forced softness and sweetness due to the way I was brought up. Forced to keep my volatile, negative emotions inside for protection, projecting sweetness outside for protection. Anger and sadness had been forced to take up a lot of space inside me, so maybe I have a harder time accessing softness that is true to me. Need some outlets. I loooove your channel I could listen to you talk for hours
I wonder if the selection of objects should come first by thinking about the concept or just letting objects pop in your mind and then asking yourself why. Great video! Thank you.
1 Color pink Not as vibrant as other colors but still gets attention 2 Music Tells a story is not afraid to show all the feelings it might revel something about yourself 3 Dress that make you want to twirl The way the dress rise up when you spin is fun but when your not moving it might look elegant and put together 4 Rain They say it’s the Perfect weather to read a book but if you take the book outside you wouldn’t be able to read it so it’s all about ambience and sound I also think the sound makes perfect weather to dance even if you fall it’s better to feel the rain it may revel the people who are more carefree than others if you observe the way they react to it 5 The curtains of a theater Can be seen as something that hides or something flashy but when they open your given a show it shows the duality of theater like the mask but most people wouldn’t think of this first it’s purpose it’s to revel and to hide at the same time
imma finish later but so far 1. a cello- i’ve always felt like a cello since i was a child. something that can make such beautiful sounds 2. ginger root- i love how an ugly root can become such a delicious drink with some other ingredients 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
I never thought of it and this is my first guess if I need to choose 1. Earrings (elegant, artistic) I used to wear only gold ones ,but i started wearing only big artistic ones , it gives me courage and i feel more pretty, feminine and creative. I have a lot of them and I love them all , everday I chose one and even if I am dressed really boring earrings make it better, If I have my earrings no one is better than me 🤣😅 2. Leather dancer shoes ( love ,art , endurance) I dance since I was a kid and I love that kind of shoes and constantly buy new ones bc I walk and dance a lot , but I have one for at least 7 years... 3. Mini art pallet ( small but useful , encourage artistic feelings) I just like to draw but I have no patience and I am really hard on my art so if it's small art supplies and especially that one palette I am much happier to use it 4. Narcissus ( Mithology, flower) I like culture and art , I want to be environmentalist, it's grounding, it's nature , it's psychology, it's pretty, it's happy yet so sad . It has more meanings 5. Bed ( comfortable, start and end of day ) Bed is just everything, bed is comfortable, your response yet you need to uncomfortable to leave it , it has good and bad memories, it's sparks creativity , it heals sadness , it heals the illness, idk i love it 6. Water ( peaceful, life) It's just nature , a beautiful nature , the river , the sea , the water you bath yourself with , the water you drink . Water is comfortable, beautiful, it can't be scary but it can encourage you , it's everywhere around us , yet so mythical and unexplored 7. A small black leather notebook ( durable , full of thoughts ) It's handy , it's useful, it sparks creativity, it can be used for work , it can cure the borednes 8. A glass ( it brings light ) It's see through, yet it protects you , it gives you joy 9. Phone with internet (useful) It's everything, for communication, for learning, for fun ,for whatever you need it 10. Human body ( life) It's just something perfect , something so fascinating, it's enternal and majestic I just put things that I love , not the thing that represents me as a person or my personality.... Idk help me people to understand this more
i think my objects would be 1: coca-Cola cap (to a glass bottle) why: it has rigid ends and is very often thrown away and not put to use and when it is used it’s just used for aesthetics and not for reasonable purposes 2: vanilla cupcake, with vanilla frosting and rainbow circle sprinkles why: when you take off the”wrapper” of the cupcake you get another layer that is sweet, enjoyable, soft and makes you smile, and I think that resembles me because I have an outside layer but once you peel it back and you get to the inside layers, it’s really enjoyable and you just have to get through a layer of me to get to really know who I am and what I stand for 3: empty chip bag why: just like an empty chip bag there are a little crumbs to me that people don’t really get to or just don’t have the interest into getting to those crumbs that are actually really enjoyable and people often miss out on those crumbs of me just like a empty chip bag 4: half used notebook why: a half used notebook has been written on, but there’s still so much to use to go through and there’s so many empty pages that haven’t even been touched or written on or even looked at, and that really signifies me in a way, 5: mountains why: no matter what time of day, season, or weather, they are beautiful and stand tall and are strong just like me 6: scars why: they very, obviously leave an imprint and don’t go away can be beautiful or not, some people love them some people hate them. Some people want them. Some people are glad they don’t have them. And scars in general are just unique and they make a person unique and I think that is very beautiful, it’s rare for me to see someone have the same scar as someone else they can be longer short wide or narrow can be plain or colored they can even peel different ways. This is so much that I relate to with scars for some reason. 7: buttons why: they can be sold on to so many different articles of clothing or you can even use them for other things other than clothing they come all shapes, sizes and colors, and they can make a huge difference, even being a small button! 8: a knife why: they are often sharp, but can be dull and something about knives. I feel that is cinematic. Is people use knives all the time when they’re sharp, but whenever they become dull from being used so much some people just throw them away and get a new one and that’s how I feel. I have been treated my whole life and it just resonates with me and other ways other than that, but mostly that part. 9: a window why: it is very very common for them to be clear/glass and you can see the inside and out and choose whether you want anyone to see through that window and cover it or if you’re OK with people seeing outside and in and I think that is a beautiful thing and also about windows you can look out of that window and see beautiful, beautiful things like the weather people animals just outside in general you can check on the world just by looking outside You can check on people by just looking outside. You can just check on things just by looking outside and I think that is a beautiful thing about windows because you can do the same thing as a person you can see out of your perspective and look out of your “ window” and see outside of it 10: a tv why: whenever it wants to be used they use it and it could be for a long time or for a short time they can even sleep with it on and it just be left there alone or whenever they’re done they turn it off and it’s left alone for a while maybe even a short time and as a person, that’s how I feel and that’s how it resonates with me
Your videos save my soul and comfort my eyes. I'm absolutely obsessed with your lighting, could you please share the reference of the lamp that creates this effect?
Cloud, snake, ice cream, fire, river, pink orange majestic tree, spider Web, spider, fire... My whole inspiration in life, my driving force is to dismantle everything I have energetically trapped with my web so I can float again in feathery bliss. The fire within me reminds me of all the reasons why I can't be your river, the only source to quench all your thirst...yet. I want you all to myself. I want to be feared but not at the same time like the spider that defies logic. The answers to these conundrums I always find, somehow. I am constantly getting satisfying licks from the esoteric ice cream because only there can I reach the 8 dimensions other normal humans can only dream of ...and open my 10th eye to see God's perfection in real time...but first I gotta ride the snake within to dissolve my human's snakiness that prevents me from receiving love just as I am, just as I was...pretty, perfect love that is manifesting through the great I
I think it would be interesting to see a video from you about how we can pursue a beautiful, self-knowing life while practicing a religion. I see that a lot of organized religion tells you to NOT focus on yourself, so I think it would be interesting to know how you might find a balance in the midst of that if a religion is something you choose to practice.
In Oblivion it shows the pain of loosing love, the love we had as children and young teenagers, as the years go by we can feel less and less of it, we are dying, we are bleeding in love, and become sterile to it, like we are made of polystyrene in the end, around 40-45-50-55. This forgetting is the Oblivion, which hurts us, as we see it seep through our fingers and we even completely forget how love was.
About this observation you made on the distinction between artifices and natural phenomena. You should look into Lee Ufan’s art and his Mono Ha manifesto. I think you’d love it.
This video just made me think of you teaching art. I would definitely pay for your courses on Art, Writers, etc. If you do offer said courses please share it. You are the art teacher we all need!

Ok, here are my ten symbols (without explanations -- I'll meditate on them and write about it but I feel like this is an intrinsically private endeavour for me) - A cold glass of milk. - An old fig tree, with deep roots. - Books. A whole library -- preferably old, with tons of dark wood. - Honeycomb. - Swans. (I picture them gliding in a moonlit lake) - A heart locket. - Pearls -- still inside an oyster, with all of its chthonic potential. - Wild horses. - A silver dagger, with a stag's antler handle. - Gardenias -- and their perfume in a hot night.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚ My list, unfinished *ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚ 1- snowdrops when i think of snowdrops, i think of them being in a sparse misty forest, its cold and you feel your skin, the sense of your own life. i feel sometimes like i forget that i am a person that i exist and this scene is the kind that makes me feel alive. they hang towards the ground despite them growing in large quantities they have a sense of melancholy that i see in myself. 2- knife knives have a beauty that is often overlooked, they are clean, what i wish to be, a delicate edge. being even close to a knife i feel a sense of danger in my heart, perhaps i am the danger the knife wont hurt me on its own but my need to experience, call of the void. the light shines of the metal making it appear like an object again, just like everything it is in this world and it is an object but our own experiences affect it to be how we see it. cold. 3- pearl ever since i was a child i had a sort of fear of dirt. i wouldnt have a physical aversion to it but when i slept at night i was haunted by nightmares. not the type you usually hear, no clothes in school, being chased falling from a great height. I would see images of things that where dirty, messy notes of black pen with words scrawled on top of each other, graffitied walls in dim grimy alleys that smelled of gas station bathrooms, tables made of wood with dirt packed into the grain and with crass writing. these visions made me feel extremely distraught and dirty and the only thing that helped was to imagine what was clean in my mind, smooth, white, and cold to the touch. pearls. 4- stars in the sky i was never one for talking much as a child and that included to my family. we used to have to drive quite far distances every few months to visit my relatives who lived in the big city, back then i didnt have music and at this point my nintendo 3ds would be dead and i couldnt distract myself with continuing to to draw pikachu on pokemon art academy. I would always look at the night sky. It is so very beautiful and its something i had always recognised as such even before i had any interest in aesthetics. Its incredible how something so simple can be so beautiful, just a pure white shining dot in the sky yet it provoked me to feel so small, the contrast of the star to the sky was so clean in a way that it was impossible for me to look away, and by the time we made enough distance from us and the city, the entire sky was lit up with these tiny little dots. celestial beings 5- cinnamon the deep smell and taste of cinnamon provides with such comfort, it feels like a warm hug and while on the other entries in this list i talked about how cold things feel clean and would calm me down, but on the contrary warmth makes me feel happy and comforted. for me cinnamon represents how my love feels, its deep and warm and sweet. it makes me happy. 6- mice I feel connected to mice, when i feel deep in derealisation i often see myself as a mouse. i wish that i could be as small as a mouse, that i could get lost in blankets and the warmth that provide me comfort, that i could be carried around in the pocket of those i loved. I have such a deep love for animals and how they have their own thoughts and dreams, but i feel i connect to mice on a personal level 7- long nails having my nails dont always made my hands appear so long and slender, and even when i felt so unconfident if i had my nails done i had comfort in my appearance, in the smooth feeling of the polish. 8- digital cameras 9- candles 10- blood
CONFESSION: I like your videos, and then I unlike them, just so I can hit the like button again. I need TH-cam to create an accumulative like function. Hitting it once does not feel satisfying enough.

wonderful ~ here are my symbols: 1. An art nouveau vase - artistic, decorative, and stylized. Fragile but can give life to others as long as I’m “watered” beforehand. 2. Piano - the stark contrast of black and white is present in my drawings. I’ve played the piano my whole life. An ode to film noir, and my obsession with form over color. 3. Pearl - heavily guarded, mysterious, creating my own world and identity from collected grains of sand (knowledge). 4. A raspberry on each fingertip - playful femininity, spontaneous. A lust for life and ritualizing experiences. Amelie. 5. Star - lonesome, distant, unearthly. 6. Swan - elegant, pure, enigmatic, quiet. 7. Pomegranate - meticulous, detail-oriented, ritualizing processes. I love to shut out the world and eat a whole pomegranate in candlelight, letting myself get sticky with juice. 8. An amethyst mod mini dress - An old soul with a yearning for the past, combined with my love for fashion. deep amethyst is understated yet rich and vibrant. 9. A sharp, graphite pencil - integral to my artistic practice. Unassuming yet capable and effective. Classic. 10. Dried flowers - crippling nostalgia, fragile and sensitive. I’m a collector of all things, including dried flowers. a fleeting attempt to preserve nature. Grasping at everything, hoping nothing slips away.
I made a huge list and i think it didnt got uploaded but anyways i think it was a bit repeating its or my values maybe ill add more after some years the objects i wrote were; -Earth globe -mermaids -lps toys -dune by dior -long white dresses(if my other comment is still here this wasnt in the list because i was so unsure about number 10 and some others werent in the list but im thinking it more thoroughly) -black and white and grey combo in nature -sun rays through the trees -stuffed animals -glitters -wind
1. The Sea 2. Shells and pearls 3. Black eyeliner 4. The night sky 5. A red hibiscus flower 6. Mount Denali 7. A black bikini 8. A tiger 9. A red hibiscus flower 10. The periodic table of elements
these 10 symbols seems qite similar, but nonetheless: 1. a stiletto knife - slim and elegant, now it's there to open letters, but potentially dangerous and hidden, in another life. 2. a dark, rain soaked branch jotting out into a high, grey sky - a delicate line of wood, alive but dormant for the winter, waiting for spring, hoping it doesn't break in this harsh weather 3. an algae-covered river rock - unmoved for a long time, covered with greenery, treacherously slippery beneath a moving stream 4. a white rag covered in vermilion, either blood or paint - the uncertainty of being (an artist, a woman, both at the same time), a wound that needs dressing 5. a blimp - a marvellous invention, manmade whales moving ceremoniously through the sky, doomed to obsolescence a century ago, but with a hope of returning someday in a more refined form 6. a pupa - a transitioning phase in life, difficulty of reaching the destined self, a comfort zone that i need to leave soon 7. a church bell - loud and clear, not asking, but demanding to be heard, but beckoning towards spiritual labour 8. a ceiling of a gothic chapel - a uniqu connection of points, soaring into the sky, illuminated through intricate stained windows, a peak of architecture once named barbaric, but no less beautiful for it 9. a pen nib - used for drawing, writing, and the combination of the two, calligraphy, not the most convenient, but a versatile tool 10. a clock ticking on the wall - my difficult relationship with time, the way i tend to forget of its passage, get used to the ticking sound, while it goes on and on relentlessly
i’m so glad pinterest was my first “social media” thing i ever had, i hav boards i made at 14 and seeing all my fav movies/tv shows, art that inspired me, fashion moments and runways, women who i looked up to, aesthetics, tattoos i wanted, beautiful photography…i luv pinterest

Pinterest is great but the ads up there are killing me. I have an ad next to every single post. :-(
Cool.
I love Pinterest too!
knowing yourself is the furthest thing from narcissism. actions considered narcissistic - to me at least - more about hurting + bringing down others/perceiving others as a threat to feel better about one's own lack. the opposite of knowing yourself deeply and being at peace with who you are
yes! narcissism is insecurity in its most extreme form
very well said :)
What a sweet memory.
that is so precious :'-)
Well, they do have a lot of sugar in them so of course anything would like them. They’re addicting we made them hybridize. They’re too big too much sugar for us. Its sad that you quit eating something that we absolutely need which is meat has everything in it that we need!

~ My ten symbols ~
• Classic spiral staircases {because my ideas always spiral and lead me to existential resolutions of pure contemplation and beauty}
• Black & White victorian tiles {It reminds me of the house I lived in when I was a child, I always saw myself reflected between the floors interspersed in white and black. Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland too - one of my favorite films}
• White dresses - silk, lace, ruffles, puff sleeves etc {I believe it is a fair representation of who I am through fashion: white gothic Victorian doll}
• Statues { 1. Conscious response: Because it is a way of valuing the human body and I am proud to be one}
2. Unconscious response: I lowkey fear statues, despite their gracefulness, I secretly think that each statue has a soul embedded inside and they are alive but performing to us}.
• Tree roots and branches {I made a painting when I was 15 of a tree with long roots and long branches with a big human heart in the middle. This is life - literally.}
• Candles - in a beautiful candlestick {I like how the flames dance in the dark and create images. Reminds me of Plato's Cave - I love the philosophy of the World of Ideas}
• Cello {I've been playing since I was 12}
• Pearls {I love how they are formed, in addition to their gracefulness. I always wear two giant pearl necklaces.}
• White roses {because in the white queen's palace (aka me) -Wonderland- we don't paint the roses red.}
• Horses figures {I currently live in a neighborhood called 'Horse' and also because my grandmother had a vase with a sculpture of a horse - it was BEAUTIFUL - that she loved and I broke when I was a child. Horses chase me (literally).}
You're really pretty
Lovely. Whyyyyy Cello?
@@Jazmine.x i honestly appreciate your kindness 🤍
@@HeavenSentHoney Everywhere I go, before I enter any establishment, to be honest with my authenticity, I like to listen to Swan Lake's cello solos. It makes me feel *extremely* powerful and moving. I love incorporating Odette (soft, delicate), but also Odile (bold, impactful, unpredictable) into my presence. I believe it is one of my magnetism and ethereal "tricks".
@@dasilvalara188
Your comment is very inspiring.
I audibly said wow and stopped my car so i could
type this. What a wonderful sentiment
I love the prompt you included!! My 10 things would be:
1: A ginger tea bag its my favourite type of tea and I have at least 2 cups a day
2: A pen with a chewed cap- an annoying habit of mine when I'm thinking alot which is most of the time
3: Headphones- I wear them everyday, sometimes all day, I live for music
4: A sewing needle- I love to make my own clothes and alter what I have!
5: Nail polish- I love to paint my nails, its the easiest self care practice that I can count on myself to do
6: A typewriter- I have such an appreciation of slow habits and antiques
7: A lace bralette- lingerie is the easiest way and most comfortable way for me to embrace my sexuality, I wear it for myself without feeling like I'm performing for others
8: An afro comb- I take alot of pride in my hair and in embracing its coils, its my big f you to western beauty standards
9: A veil- I loveeeee iconography, there's something so sacred about veiling
10: Glitter- It's beautiful and fun but so so messy and easily irritating (my duality)
"Eroticize a piece of somebody, rather than the whole" like damn, the self awareness up in this room! You and me both, sister lol
my family didn’t have much money while i was growing up and i was an only child- so the existentialism of being on my own, figuring out who i am/what i like & dislike really helped to shape who i am. i delved into art, i learned how to communicate with people, i played around with my style, because it’s all i COULD do or i felt i was going to wither away. everyone always tells me i’m so sure of myself, so confident, and it was like well… there’s really nothing else i could have done!
My 10 symbols
1. Orchids
2. Plain blank pages of paper - to have a space where you can do whatever you want all according to your hearts desire. A blank page doesn't care, it doesn't judge it just exist
3. Panthers/ cats- interacting with them feels so ephemeral. How i have to be really aware of their response. I think i associate with their strong sense of boundaries and being elusive.
4. Glass bowls with those intricate designs
5. Mirrors-
6. Comb - i love combs and i wish i can use it more but I have curly hair. The idea of it detangling and removing chaos and knots
7. Pens
Still a wonder how they created in with metal
Please do a video about how you were raised

I had comment last video about your philosophies relating to my disability. Your accessibility statements always hit home for me

My main thought upon finishing this video is, I'm so glad I found your channel, you're a gem. I'm gonna go work on this ten objects thing. One of them has to be a 75 cent yellow spiral notebook. Nine to go 💭✨
I’m happy I found you too
please start a podcast
omg i could listen to you all day you're just ethereal
5 symbols that i feel represent me-
Broken hourglass-
Sometimes i feel immortal, like i’ve quite literally broken the hourglass, stopped the hands of time.
Name signature-
Reminds me of my namelessness. Ever since i was a child i’ve wanted to change my name, but no matter how many i go through nothing fits and i always move on to another.
Hair-
My hair has always been important to me. The way it looks, feels. Looking after it is a kind of discipline that feels like it’s always been with me. Hair has always been tied to confidence for me, i always feel the shift in myself when it’s hair wash day.
Candlelight-
Im typically scared of fire, but candlelight brings elegance and beauty to my fears.
It shows me that fear and admiration have much in common.
Wings-
Represents my internal battle of immortality/humanity.
Gorgeous ❤️
Here are the most important of mine:
The first thing that came to mind was a pearl.
Happy you found enjoyment out of this! Thank you for finding value in this prompt ❤️
God why isn’t your channel at a million. Everything you post is GOLD

Here's what I have:
A rosary kept inside a small silver box
A small cartoon panda charm
Interesting and beautiful buttons from various shirts and coats
A fish lure
An empty shotgun shell
Links from watches adjusted to size
A red matchbox with gold accents and a juggler illustration on top
A mantra pendant inside said matchbox
A pressed penny of a bat from the zoo
An empty rifle shell
I consider these items fragments of myself compiled over time... They don't have much memory attached to them, but theyre the most kept items I've had stored away ...
The buttons may represent my need to be prepared for when things fall apart...
The rosary and the matchbox may be a theme for something I keep secret and sacred...
The panda charm may reveal something about my sense of humor
It's interesting to think about how people can kind of collect specific items subconsciously that reveal so much about themselves ...
Feathers - collecting from my moms green macaw, an owl, sapsuckers, and our peacocks, my native heritage
Fire - candles, reading by the oil lamp when there was no power, the warmth of the fireplace after a day in the cold.
Spring - sowing of seeds, rebirth, growth, and anticipation
1 carbonated water - the zest, the spark, the shaping up of the ordinary
2 yuzu (scent) - there's a lightness to the scent in my eyes, and it screams a muted freshness
3 tan skin - freedom, playfulness, and vitality
4 flowers (i have all floral type casing for my devices, and floral everything) - romanticism, a push to return to nature, an appreciation for the cycles of the world
5 sinigang - my favourite dish of all time. its taste and tangy notes breaks the pattern of so much of the foods i eat. its bright and wakeful.
6 football - the beauty of the game. i love it to death. the aggression, the rise, the fall, the stories, the players and teams that i attach so much meaning to.
7 soft fabrics (e.g., knitted clothes) - softness (literally), comfort--an embrace, a casual way of life
8 burning a matchstick (reminds me to live in the moment, i love how quickly it starts and goes) - a calmness in watching it burn, the brief flicker urges me to stay in the present
9 earthy tones - subtle but strong
10 bidets (this one seems a tad nonsensical but jajaja i love my bidets i even got a portable one for weird ass countries that don't have bidets as the norm) - freshness, cleanliness, and faith
This helps me get over the thought that I feel like I’ve seen myself in varying degrees is all sorts of media
my (i guess 7) things (for now):
a small book: not a lot in there but once you open it it could open your eyes
a raspberry: small perfect imbalance of sweet and sour you never know which one you’ll get
water: always on the move almost never really settles
a mirror: you can see yourself but truly never just the real you, naked truth
a blade: can build you up just as good as it can break you down
a shrub: always in the shadow of a much much larger tree but just as beautiful
lolita: most times people choose to just misunderstand and stay away rather than getting close and at least trying to understand
Love this and Omg the raspberry and the small book yessss
wow, just what I needed right now. Love the way you lightly dance through insight and introspection.
"since middle school on i’ve been borderline obsessed with defining myself because for a long time I was really all that I had” same twin same and I’m definitely going thru it again I’m in love with discovering myself and my own mind and my world and my thoughts and my home within myself like you said lol thanks never heard anyone ever say this
the queen is back
Love your videos, especially the Ethereal playlist ♥️
It's my birthday today and this is the kind of message I had hoped to stumble upon in order to set meaningful intentions for the year ahead!
Thank you Celine
Happy birthday 🎂
@@WitchmeeThank you soo much 💗
Happy birthday🖤
Thank youu
Happy Birthday love. Happy to set the tone for the new year.
I'd never take it off
"It's really hard to hear the sound of your heartbeat in the middle of a crowd."
That is Heaven Sent Honey to my ears. Thinking about putting that sentence in a frame and hang it to my room some day when I have one. 👏
My objects:
Written by Geoff Johns.)
Know thyself
Nothing too much
Give a pledge, and trouble is at hand
Nothing is new under the sun
portrait of symbols :
1. black linen shirt with white cathair - in the background, never too obvious but subtle softness only visible in dark backgrounds.
One of the things that symbolizes me is metaphors because im not really that brave when it comes to expressing myself and so as a writer metaphors help me write about whatever i want without fear of being exposed you can hide a world inside the seed of a flower with metaphors and only those who are observant enough to see through my metaphors in my opinion they are the ones who would understand me and try to understand me
My 10 symbols
My name is Malina Callie
(Yikes. You really do learn something while doing this exercise.)
>Capodimonte/Metal flowers- Fine Italian porcelain & metal handcrafted by artisans to resemble lifelike flowers.
>Dead dried plants/seed pods - Beauty in the decay often times more poetic & beautiful than other more vibrant life stages
>Brass Mask Sculpture - reminds me to hang the mask up, be my authentic self, and no longer mask my autism or true nature.
Resilience.
Origami crane - precision, attention to detail, folding
Violet - blooming, reserved, assymetrical
Thimble - protection, martyr, resourceful
Envelope - consideration, communication
Sea glass - resilience, tumbled, change
Candle - light, calm, warmth
Spoon - reflective, curved, cradles
Wind chime - musical, listening
Paper clip - support, bond, cyclical
Colored wires, especially when used as replacement for something else (veins, IV, hair)
Pigeon Feathers I found in The Netherlands
Blue Grey, my favorite color
Crosses (I don't know what this is about i was raised secular)
Rocks from my cabin up north. My favorite one is this smooth black one I like rubbing
Distorted eyes (red, has swirls or color or symbols inside of them)
Big floppy wizard hat that my cartoon persona wears
Hand carved wooden chicken, my favorite in my bird figurine collection.
I thought your video on glamour was my favorite one yet…but this has just topped that.
Thank you for this amazing video! I'm going to take my time with deciding what my symbols are but will update when I finalize it
I wonder if the selection of objects should come first by thinking about the concept or just letting objects pop in your mind and then asking yourself why. Great video! Thank you.
1 Color pink
Not as vibrant as other colors but still gets attention
2 Music
Tells a story is not afraid to show all the feelings it might revel something about yourself
3 Dress that make you want to twirl
The way the dress rise up when you spin is fun but when your not moving it might look elegant and put together
4 Rain
They say it’s the Perfect weather to read a book but if you take the book outside you wouldn’t be able to read it so it’s all about ambience and sound I also think the sound makes perfect weather to dance even if you fall it’s better to feel the rain it may revel the people who are more carefree than others if you observe the way they react to it
5 The curtains of a theater
Can be seen as something that hides or something flashy but when they open your given a show it shows the duality of theater like the mask but most people wouldn’t think of this first it’s purpose it’s to revel and to hide at the same time
imma finish later but so far
1. a cello- i’ve always felt like a cello since i was a child. something that can make such beautiful sounds
2. ginger root- i love how an ugly root can become such a delicious drink with some other ingredients

I’m happy you posted this on the 19th it feels like a birthday present❤
I’ve been wanting to change my name for many years. A name that symbolises myself.
you should do that. when you have a name you like it feels so much more like its yours
You can do it so easily now with social media. If you don't have the energy for the paperwork. I know I don't ahaha. It will be your nom d'artiste!
I did it and it was one of the best choices i ever made, good luck in your journey
I never thought of it and this is my first guess if I need to choose
1. Earrings (elegant,artistic)
I used to wear only gold ones ,but i started wearing only big artistic ones , it gives me courage and i feel more pretty, feminine and creative. I have a lot of them and I love them all , everday I chose one and even if I am dressed really boring earrings make it better, If I have my earrings no one is better than me 🤣😅
2. Leather dancer shoes ( love ,art , endurance)
I dance since I was a kid and I love that kind of shoes and constantly buy new ones bc I walk and dance a lot , but I have one for at least 7 years...
3. Mini art pallet ( small but useful , encourage artistic feelings)
I just like to draw but I have no patience and I am really hard on my art so if it's small art supplies and especially that one palette I am much happier to use it
4. Narcissus ( Mithology, flower)
I like culture and art , I want to be environmentalist, it's grounding, it's nature , it's psychology, it's pretty, it's happy yet so sad . It has more meanings
5. Bed ( comfortable, start and end of day )
Bed is just everything, bed is comfortable, your response yet you need to uncomfortable to leave it , it has good and bad memories, it's sparks creativity , it heals sadness , it heals the illness, idk i love it
6. Water ( peaceful,life)
It's just nature , a beautiful nature , the river , the sea , the water you bath yourself with , the water you drink . Water is comfortable, beautiful, it can't be scary but it can encourage you , it's everywhere around us , yet so mythical and unexplored
7. A small black leather notebook ( durable , full of thoughts )
It's handy , it's useful, it sparks creativity, it can be used for work , it can cure the borednes
8. A glass ( it brings light )
It's see through, yet it protects you , it gives you joy
9. Phone with internet (useful)
It's everything, for communication, for learning, for fun ,for whatever you need it
10. Human body ( life)
It's just something perfect , something so fascinating, it's enternal and majestic
I just put things that I love , not the thing that represents me as a person or my personality....
Idk help me people to understand this more
i think my objects would be
1: coca-Cola cap (to a glass bottle)
why: it has rigid ends and is very often thrown away and not put to use and when it is used it’s just used for aesthetics and not for reasonable purposes
2: vanilla cupcake, with vanilla frosting and rainbow circle sprinkles
why: when you take off the”wrapper” of the cupcake you get another layer that is sweet, enjoyable, soft and makes you smile, and I think that resembles me because I have an outside layer but once you peel it back and you get to the inside layers, it’s really enjoyable and you just have to get through a layer of me to get to really know who I am and what I stand for
3: empty chip bag
why: just like an empty chip bag there are a little crumbs to me that people don’t really get to or just don’t have the interest into getting to those crumbs that are actually really enjoyable and people often miss out on those crumbs of me just like a empty chip bag
4: half used notebook
why: a half used notebook has been written on, but there’s still so much to use to go through and there’s so many empty pages that haven’t even been touched or written on or even looked at, and that really signifies me in a way,
5: mountains
why: no matter what time of day, season, or weather, they are beautiful and stand tall and are strong just like me
6: scars
why: they very, obviously leave an imprint and don’t go away can be beautiful or not, some people love them some people hate them.
7: buttons
why: they can be sold on to so many different articles of clothing or you can even use them for other things other than clothing they come all shapes, sizes and colors, and they can make a huge difference, even being a small button!
8: a knife
why: they are often sharp, but can be dull and something about knives. I feel that is cinematic. Is people use knives all the time when they’re sharp, but whenever they become dull from being used so much some people just throw them away and get a new one and that’s how I feel. I have been treated my whole life and it just resonates with me and other ways other than that, but mostly that part.
9: a window
why: it is very very common for them to be clear/glass and you can see the inside and out and choose whether you want anyone to see through that window and cover it or if you’re OK with people seeing outside and in and I think that is a beautiful thing and also about windows you can look out of that window and see beautiful, beautiful things like the weather people animals just outside in general you can check on the world just by looking outside You can check on people by just looking outside. You can just check on things just by looking outside and I think that is a beautiful thing about windows because you can do the same thing as a person you can see out of your perspective and look out of your “ window” and see outside of it
10: a tv
why: whenever it wants to be used they use it and it could be for a long time or for a short time they can even sleep with it on and it just be left there alone or whenever they’re done they turn it off and it’s left alone for a while maybe even a short time and as a person, that’s how I feel and that’s how it resonates with me
congrats on the sponsorship!! get that coin
I love your perspecitve and analysis, great video
Thank you for this inspirational video ❤
Everything you said shook a part of me that needed to be shaken.
you are never boring
Absolutely adored this video! Thank you!
16:56 Hearing your reasoning behind why you chose a diamond was so beautiful and sexy! I love it.
This video just made me think of you teaching art. I would definitely pay for your courses on Art, Writers, etc. If you do offer said courses please share it. You are the art teacher we all need!

- A cold glass of milk.
- An old fig tree, with deep roots.
- Books. A whole library -- preferably old, with tons of dark wood.
- Honeycomb.
- Swans. (I picture them gliding in a moonlit lake)
- A heart locket.
- Pearls -- still inside an oyster, with all of its chthonic potential.
- Wild horses.
- A silver dagger, with a stag's antler handle.
- Gardenias -- and their perfume in a hot night.
i loveee a portrait of symbols, im gonna think about it and comment later!
*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚
My list, unfinished
*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚
1- snowdrops
when i think of snowdrops, i think of them being in a sparse misty forest, its cold and you feel your skin, the sense of your own life. i feel sometimes like i forget that i am a person that i exist and this scene is the kind that makes me feel alive. they hang towards the ground despite them growing in large quantities they have a sense of melancholy that i see in myself.
2- knife
knives have a beauty that is often overlooked, they are clean, what i wish to be, a delicate edge. being even close to a knife i feel a sense of danger in my heart, perhaps i am the danger the knife wont hurt me on its own but my need to experience, call of the void. the light shines of the metal making it appear like an object again, just like everything it is in this world and it is an object but our own experiences affect it to be how we see it. cold.
3- pearl
ever since i was a child i had a sort of fear of dirt. i wouldnt have a physical aversion to it but when i slept at night i was haunted by nightmares. not the type you usually hear, no clothes in school, being chased falling from a great height. I would see images of things that where dirty, messy notes of black pen with words scrawled on top of each other, graffitied walls in dim grimy alleys that smelled of gas station bathrooms, tables made of wood with dirt packed into the grain and with crass writing. these visions made me feel extremely distraught and dirty and the only thing that helped was to imagine what was clean in my mind, smooth, white, and cold to the touch. pearls.
4- stars in the sky
i was never one for talking much as a child and that included to my family. we used to have to drive quite far distances every few months to visit my relatives who lived in the big city, back then i didnt have music and at this point my nintendo 3ds would be dead and i couldnt distract myself with continuing to to draw pikachu on pokemon art academy. I would always look at the night sky. It is so very beautiful and its something i had always recognised as such even before i had any interest in aesthetics. Its incredible how something so simple can be so beautiful, just a pure white shining dot in the sky yet it provoked me to feel so small, the contrast of the star to the sky was so clean in a way that it was impossible for me to look away, and by the time we made enough distance from us and the city, the entire sky was lit up with these tiny little dots. celestial beings
5- cinnamon
the deep smell and taste of cinnamon provides with such comfort, it feels like a warm hug and while on the other entries in this list i talked about how cold things feel clean and would calm me down, but on the contrary warmth makes me feel happy and comforted. for me cinnamon represents how my love feels, its deep and warm and sweet. it makes me happy.
6- mice
I feel connected to mice, when i feel deep in derealisation i often see myself as a mouse. i wish that i could be as small as a mouse, that i could get lost in blankets and the warmth that provide me comfort, that i could be carried around in the pocket of those i loved. I have such a deep love for animals and how they have their own thoughts and dreams, but i feel i connect to mice on a personal level
7- long nails
having my nails dont always made my hands appear so long and slender, and even when i felt so unconfident if i had my nails done i had comfort in my appearance, in the smooth feeling of the polish.
8- digital cameras
9- candles
10- blood
CONFESSION: I like your videos, and then I unlike them, just so I can hit the like button again. I need TH-cam to create an accumulative like function. Hitting it once does not feel satisfying enough.
I chose ballet slippers, but never danced ballet because I don’t believe I’m good enough. Jeez I have stuff to work on.
For me the elements of aesthetics which matter the most are those which I can live, not just observe.
I’m really glad I watched your video
❤ I have to really ponder on those 10 things…
ponder away and enjoy
when i consume your videos i feel we're conversing on life

3. an algae-covered river rock - unmoved for a long time, covered with greenery, treacherously slippery beneath a moving stream
4. a white rag covered in vermilion, either blood or paint - the uncertainty of being (an artist, a woman, both at the same time), a wound that needs dressing

7. a church bell - loud and clear, not asking, but demanding to be heard, but beckoning towards spiritual labour
8. a ceiling of a gothic chapel - a uniqu connection of points, soaring into the sky, illuminated through intricate stained windows, a peak of architecture once named barbaric, but no less beautiful for it
9. a pen nib - used for drawing, writing, and the combination of the two, calligraphy, not the most convenient, but a versatile tool
10. a clock ticking on the wall - my difficult relationship with time, the way i tend to forget of its passage, get used to the ticking sound, while it goes on and on relentlessly
