Our recently remodeled laundry room needed some storage for everyday goods. Narrow cupboards were hard to reach so we opted for a larger custom "floating" shelf.
While this isn't a step-by-step or full how-to video, I hope it gives you some insight into the process if you're interested in tackling a project like this for yourself.
    Tool list:
    - 10" table saw (could use circular saw)
    - 12" miter saw (could use circular saw)
    - Compressor + pin nailer
    - Drill/Driver
    - corner clamps
    - quick clamps
    - orbital sander
    - carbon grey stain
    - waterbased polyurethane
    - foam brushes
    - tac cloth

I throughly enjoyed watching this video. It was so easy to follow and I wasn’t left confused about how to go about doing this myself. I would also like to mention that for me, it was educational. Loved it. Keep going! 💪🏾

Had zero idea that I could use 2x and 1/4” and skin it. Brilliant

I'd probably use something more than veneer for the top of a shelf. That being said the rest was decent

I had LOTS planned, but we had a baby 8 months ago, so life has been preoccupied with some other things lately

Awesome job on the shelf. Would have helped a lot more though if you would’ve mentioned the size & type of wood & screws you used for the frame & how far apart the cross supports were. Otherwise, vid was good.

Yeah, behind the washer dryer, and then with my electrical panel next to them as well, makes putting up anything dang impossible, and im so desperate for organized storage in my laundry area...I wish it was this east for me.

You said you couldn't reach your shelves. But you put this shelf real high lol.

What kind of wood did you use?

The framing is just select pine. The plywood is the nicest grade at 1/4” I could find, it’s just called “sanded ply “ on the label

Also did you cut your front t pieces at 45 degrees or just straight?

Nice video, but I am wondering why you made it so high. You have front loading machines, you don't have to worry about any lid clearance.

Good point! I was originally thinking I might add the lifts to the washer/dryer, but I opted instead to add a secondary smaller shelf underneath this one. My height reference was just the max I could reach…😆

I think it’s the cheapest one you can get at harbor freight, about 15 dollars. Still works decent

You want him to add weights until it breaks and report back to you? Bloody Hell mate! What kind of question is that?
