Very nice property, if I knew anything about farming I would've figured out a way to buy it. We need our farmers!

I looked it up on-line, under the name on the Auction Sign Storm showed at the beginning of the video.
It gives all the info about the acreage, business, etc...
I'd love to buy it, too!
But I'm thinking if this long established business couldn't keep it going,
maybe it could be made into a different business?
It is nice property and on Hwy 30.
      Just an FYI for you.
      😎👍
But you are right, we need our farmers!

Sad to see it go, my Dad used to get awesome sweet corn from Johnson's in the day. They had it all, including the most delicious pies and beautiful flowers! Support the local producers as they need our continued support during these awful times. The Sun will Shine and keep up the Great Work Storm documenting our history past and present! Stay safe and look forward to the next videos. Best, Jersey Region Rat

I have never been there either. But, what a nice place to be able to buy fresh produce.
    I see it's for sale!
Yes, Storm, I too, thought it would make a nice House!
Or even a Bed & Breakfast....
But there is nothing like a great fruit market! Yummy!
It is sad it just couldn't make it.

It was a little bit of country you could take home.

They had the nest strawberries and you could go pick them yourself, too. It was a summer tradition and after my mom got sick we’d just buy flats of them.

  • @daking653
    @daking653 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh, no my mom and her family took us to u-pick farm every summer. At first I hated to get up at the crack of dawn. Drive from Gary to Johnson's and then once you started to pick the vegetables, feel the day breeze, and the quietness and serenity of it all. I forgot I was mad about coming The family of the famer was great, friendly. I was afraid of the sheep 🐏. Thier faces kinda looked like humans and they had teeth. ( Mr. Farmer will you get these wolver out of here, please!! ) Hey, the famer had rigged up a truck 🚛 with a flatbed so he could transport pickers out to the vegetables. He was great, because he knew us kids got a kick out of hitting the bumps in the road. Steel City I am in tears remembering this my mom dead, brother, sister, grandma, can I go back to those days at Johnson U-pick.

I did look it up on Google maps and it shows it's called (at the time google maps took the picture... I sure don't know how long ago that was?)
But it gave the address and the full name:
Bradys This Is It True Value Hardware Store
      5306 W 25th Avenue
      Gary Indiana 46406
