Vũng Tàu is also close to Núi Đất where the Aussies were based during the war. Nearby you also have the Long Phước tunnels; a bit less touristy than the Củ Chi tunnels. Agree with you had the lamb at bellys its good but a place called dw's was my favourite, the sunday roast was great and curry night was excellent too moved to near front beach a few months ago from same street as bellys .
I'm just talking in particular, but in general it's easier to listen to because in our country people only know how to speak quickly and is fluent but can be difficult to hear so I'm quite nervous when interacting with them

It's true. I'd say Vung Tau is good for 'beach vibes', not the actual beach!
It also depends on the season, at different times it is cleaner. Back beach is also much better than front beach.

Yes, a lot are married to locals or own a business. I think it's probably the most famous place to retire in Vietnam.
