@@Macarow Now I might be wrong, but to my memory a Blade creates their weapon and gives it to their driver. If the driver dies, and the Blade returns to their core crystal the weapon will dematerialize. Even when Jin died, everything dematerialized. We don't really have an example from XC2 of what happens when a blade dies (to my memory, I could be wrong). We never saw any normal blades die. We see the members or Torna die, but they were all pretty much either Blade-Eaters or Flesh-Eaters. We see Malos die, but he's an Aegis, and there was nothing left after he died. So... we dont know what's happened to Pyra and Mythra. I need to play this though... Im hoping for some answers.
@@Drakenrahll These aren't the actual Aegis swords if you look at them close enough. They don't have a core crystal on them. So Rex is just using replicas and tbh that makes him that much more of a badass for blocking a big fuck you beam like that.

Sure they mentioned Blades and Drivers in relationships, but never was there mention of offspring. With the Architect's last act he might have changed a whole lot of things. So yeah, those arent the blades Rex wielded in XC2, but I am not sold that they arent Pyra and Mythra's blades. That's just my take though, until they give us something that is canon everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

I just realized it would have been super cool to have a the moebius theme and after despair and hope blended together for this boss fight. This is a callback to artifice Aion.
He actually could dual wield Pyra/Nia/Pneuma’s swords in 2. It was in a cutscene against Amalthus and also as a level 4 blade combo. So they were always hinting at his future fighting style which is cool.
