I was able to make it to 8 laps (out of 11) before my tires were knackered. That same race, someone did all 11 laps on the same Hard compound... And he finished while maintaining a 39 second lead for the last 3 laps. I can't say if it was cheating or not, though I do play on a gamepad meself which is not the best when it comes to trying to conserve rubber. But still, I would've imagined he was going to start losing a few seconds a lap during the last lap if he was racing in the same physics engine everyone else was. 3rd place was no mean feat though. Good stuff!
That does sound a bit weird, you can help tire wear with setup and i think wheel is kinder than pad on wear as well but that seems like a big gap! Thank you man, not a terrible strat but not sure it was optimal
Holding up the first two is an absolute dick move. You're not racing them, they're way too far off the lead. You can at max fight for 3rd. So there is no reason to affect the fight of the first two. (Writing this as you did it, not knowing how the race ends)
At that point i was racing them, and i was the lead car with a pitstop in hand, i drove within the rules of motorsport, its not on me to get out the way because my strategy is different. I went in 4/5 seconds behind, and after their second pit stop i was only a further 4/5 seconds behind so IF i had been able to defend for the remainder of the lap i would have been close to if not ahead after they came out and COULD have been fighting for the win. Defending there was the best chance i had at the best finishing position possible, i did not block anyone erratically or unpredictably, i was slower than them based on my tire difference, but i was ahead so it is down to them to get past me. The only indiscretion on my part was the minor contact on exist where the car drifted further right than i was expecting, that part i will concede.
@@Blownpistonmotorsport I didn't say it is against the rules, I said it's unsportsmanlike. In my opinion you were never fighting for P1 at that point. On minor hards against 30%isch used mediums, there is no way you can keep them behind you and so there is no point in staying in the way. I guess we have a different few of the situation and that's fine. Ppl have different opinions. Just wanted to point out that I'm not a fan of your move. No hard feelings
@@quuatamo8755. I'd suggest watching some motor sport before making such a ridiculous comment. Track position is king. You wanna win, over take me. Every right to hold station being race leader. You never know what may have happened between them whilst running P2 and P3. No blue flags as racing for position.
@@Minimoooooo even in real racing you gen an easy pass in such situations. Beside that it's not real racing and as I explained there is no need to be a dick and make the race harder for everyone, or risk to get spun out by the faster guys or something like that.
@@quuatamo8755 Not to make the race harder for everyone??? That's the enjoyment of it. Grab yourself some kit and start racing online. Different when you are Actually in the middle of it. Oh, and the Continuation of using the 'dick' phrase is really quite offensive and insulting.

No, it's not worth it.
could have done with that knowledge earlier, would have saved me a half hour finding out...
