@mcrmaza the prices on their vehicle upgrade kits feel much more reasonable for what they are. It's the guns and character loadouts that feel really overpriced. I mean doubling the price of a Stinger while doubling it's size and features sits with the value curve. Whereas spending an extra $50 to upgrade a $25 Hasbro action figure from Walmart feels much harder to justify, value wise.
The outrigger Jack Stands are for 2 purposes. One as you said, to allow the APC module to sit upright on its own. But the real "in universe" purpose is they would be lowered to stabilize the truck for firing the Howitzer.
Good review! This whole APC set looks unbelievable, I definitely want to get it but gotta wait just a little bit with the Rattler and other preorders going out right now
Thanks for this review! I was INFATUATED with this thing when it was revealed, but after watching your review, now it just seems a little too cramped in the back for my tastes. The troops better not be afraid of getting intimate back there, LOL. Still a very awesome-looking 6x6 vehicle.
@ReconFigures it fits a Trooper at the computer terminal and Gunner comfortably or 4 armed troops w the Howitzer or six without it inside. You can add even more troops to the outside of the trunk (like the official GS photography). I just didn't think two figs could fit comfortably at the terminals 😂
Until this company starts casting their designs , I won't be buying any 3d printed items. Not into the lines it leaves. Them tires however look great. Great review bro. Would be cool if hasbro made modular items for their things cause it would be affordable and branded.
Great video, awesome product! Just want to share two things -- the tires say "hybrid" because they are hybrid tires, which has nothing to do with how the vehicle is powered (gas/electric/etc.) but rather identifying the design of the tires, basically more rugged than street tires but not all the way all-terrain. Number two, don't pronounce the "s" at the end of "chassis". Say it like it rhymes with "jazzy." Or "chassy." Cheers
Since I'm such a 3.75" o-ring guy, I've really been avoiding the 6" game, but Gridiron is makin it more and more difficult to resist. Hasbro needs to thank them for most likely bolstering their sales because without Gridiron's offerings, I would'nt consider the Vamp or Stinger. Though the prices are a tad high, this looks like well-thought-out, high quality product.
Nailed it, to a tee. I think the Joe team is appreciative and can see it, but can never admit it being in that type of corporate environment. Luckily, for us, we all win with such great products!
Unfortunately because I forgot to cancel I currently owned nine Stingers one I have fully customized one is going to be with all of these parts like yours except for I did not get the Howitzer I have a different plan
And Mark/Quaid have many more plans for this. I'm going to keep one Stinger and just keep playing with it, depending on the plans! Lots of replay value :) But, NINE Stingers!!! JFC!
Great review as always, but I don't know. The rivets on it don't quite match the overall Stinger's smoother plating. That's the only thing holding me back.
While this looks really cool as does the Vamp with all its add ons there is just something about it that no longer makes it a GI JOE/COBRA vehicle in my eyes and thus I no longer have attachment to it. I get people who collect figures and vehicles for the artistry, the engineering, and/or because it just looks awesome. However I have to have more than that. Whether its childhood nostalgia or franchise passion, I need something more than "that looks awesome" or "this is a well made item." to justify the purchase to me. I collect GI JOE because it's GI JOE not because it's military or Sci Fi or both, but because it's GI JOE. These just don't look like a GI JOE/COBRA vehicle to me anymore. More power to those that want this and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it, but other than maybe the tires it's not for me.
@Toybountyhunter1974 options are cool, tho, right? The way I look at GI Joe Classified is that it's a MODERN take on classic G.I. Joe. So the options are there. If someone just wants Retro, there is a Retro line. If someone wants two Stingers and 1 as a Gridiron APC, they can. The cool thing about this module system is that you can take it off and it can also play as a diorama set. I love options :)
Of course options are great and more power to the people who want that path. I don't mind minor options like the tires or weapons for the troops I just don't have interest for add ons that alter the look of the vehicle/figure too much.
IMO e.g. for me, Classified is no longer just G.I. Joe. Their retro figures come close but Classified in general is just the next generation of G.I. Joe with a slightly larger defense budget. Grid Iron are competitive defense contractors third partying aftermarket upgrades to what M.A.R.S. is already giving Cobra. Good job Grid Iron. Never stop.

Gridiron tires/wheels are hard plastic…versus stock rubber. Gridiron stuff looks cool but small items are brittle and some items appear to be scaled wrong.
To be honest the Ground Pounder looks like it took direction from ww2 Halftracks used by the Americans and Germans, so totally legit and brought up to date for the modern world.

Agreed that those bench seats are too low, but great to have. The only issue I have is that the stabilizers on the sides don’t have any mutual support to the rear when it fires its howitzer. Think of the Slugger and how it has a massive blade in the back to manage the recoil. I was surprised one was not included here, consider the care they took for the side to side support. This thing must have an amazing e brake. I do wish all the Grid Iron structural adds they made would continue to have cam netting, but I really hope they realize these vehicles need multi bank grenade discharges with smoke canisters . They are all fighting vehicles with light armour. Smoke is a great effect for photography. Awesome review, Trav! It is an amazing piece of Cobra Bad-assery indeed!
Ordered my apc, howitzer, and grey red tires. Was debating on getting the all red tires so,in case I was going to get the missile launcher trailer but think the grey/black tires look better. I did get the green misfile launcher trailer and the quality is great. And all the phases and tires w spare and jack for the vamp. Waiting to see what different phases they are going to do for the stinger as didn’t just want limited twin version for the stinger. Great review can’t wait till mine arrives.

We laugh but interlocking knees is not uncommon in the military 😂. C-130 and cargo net flight overseas is something that trips me out still to this day. 🥶 🍻🫡🤙🏽
Knee to groin interlocking on 18hr C-130 sorties bring the ol' memories back. Atleast Destro gave these poor Cobra saps some fold down seats instead of cargo netting or having them use their helmets instead.
