Sharon Carter is in the MCU, she's the great-niece of Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers' first love interest. She works for SHIELD and became Cap's new love interest in the movies. She was also "The Broker" in the Falcon and The Winter Soldier series and most importantly she's played by fellow Canuck Emily VanCamp. Her comic head works well on a G.I. Joe figure but her MCU one would have the same issue as movie Black Widow. I don't mind the figure that much, a lot of the women in the line are um... homely? That's a nice way of saying it right? 😂
Anyone that ever served can tell you, the original figure is still a lot better than the average gal you find in uniform. Especially for a wrench monkey.
I want to recommend Vallejo brand paint when you try acrilic paint. You will really like their Grime wash paint. I use it for mine and it really brings out that dirty look. You can also use it to stain to a darker green on grey bodies. For example the original release Stalker.

As someone who's custom-painted a few Nerf blasters, the best way to get paint to stick to plastic is as simple as washing it thoroughly in soapy water. Plastic toys still have mold release agent residue, sweat and other oils that will get between the plastic and the paint. If there are super smooth surfaces, a light sanding with an old, used scotch pad before you wash will help too. Leave it in a warm space overnight to dry, or dry it with paper towels or a lint-free cloth, but be careful not to handle it too much and get more sweat on it. gloves ftw

@suhtangwong it's not paint, apparently, it's a chemical treatment similar to what they do to weapons. Ever notice how military weapons don't look real shiny when they show them on t.v.?

@@chrisdmowski8494 Tbh I'm pretty new to painting action figures so I'm not really qualified to give reliable advice lol. Good video! The Black Widow suggestion was definitely NOT the MCU version. While I am mostly a clothed goods collector, I do collect many Joes and some Action Force and the first thing I do with any of them is hit them with a good matte spray and its such a significant improvement all around and I think that applies to Cover Girl as well. In the end the stock head isn't "my" cover girl, I dont feel the need to swap out of disgust, but I may pick up this head and do that swap at some point!
13:43 Yup! That's the first mistake I made when I was a little kid. The first custom job I remember. I had one of those M.U.S.C.L.E. figures that looked like the Creature From The Black Lagoon. I painted it green using enamel. It had a bunch of dust, lint, fuzz and dog hair stuck to it in no time. lol 10:24 I'm impatient AF. I always have a hair dryer handy. And I only use acrylic paint which dries super fast.
One other thing you can try is soft pastels. You can scrape soft pastel into a fine powder and then brush it into recessed areas and blow the excess off. Finish with a matte spray top coat to seal it. Great alternative to airbrushing to add shading.
Nice work. The blond version was only in the cartoon. Good job you did not see the head sculpt for the original one from 1983, looks even worse than what we got with the classified one. Maybe the retro line version will look more like this one 😉 we wish 😁
This looks great. I kind of want to try this, but my customizing skills pretty much start and end with body swaps, anything more intensive and I end up with a pile of trash. If you want a Wolverine for her though and willing to shell out the cash, Ramen Toys has the answer for you.
Great video, excellent project! Marvel Legends have their share of issues but they do seem to nail a lot of their head sculpts. I am curious to see what the Retro Cover Girl figure will look like, hopefully they fix these issues!
You can take away the tackiness by using baby powder not a lot a little at a time on like a powder brush even if you paint rubber with acrylics it still could become tacky and that way helps a lot
Might not be perfect but it is an exceptional improvement, great job! Amused how this makes her blonde like the original (the brunette look was started by the toon iirc)

It had a bunch of dust, lint, fuzz and dog hair stuck to it in no time. lol
10:24 I'm impatient AF.
I believe that Ramen Toys is making a Not mobat tank that is customizable as also the Wolverine and the Bridge Layer
This Cover Girl custom looks way better than that she Creature from the Black Lagoon version.
Very Nice Work!!!! Hasbro should take pointers from you.
@@darthg6505 Thank you!
Great ideas I did it months ago but I didn’t think about stalker and big boa. Great ideas 💡
Cool mod!
Took it from Joan Rivers to Bone-getter 😂😂😂🎉
You can take away the tackiness by using baby powder not a lot a little at a time on like a powder brush even if you paint rubber with acrylics it still could become tacky and that way helps a lot
@@giltucker2007 Good to know, I'll keep that in mind to try one day.
Might not be perfect but it is an exceptional improvement, great job! Amused how this makes her blonde like the original (the brunette look was started by the toon iirc)
I think that they were thinking about Joan Rivers when they fashioned the current mold for CoverGirl.
I'll reccomend you citadel and vallejo paints. They work better for the soft plastics
