    It’s a frightening phenomenon in which a person is unable to move or speak but still is aware of his/her surroundings. Science says sleep paralysis occurs when a person is depressed and we are living in an era where around 300 million people, according to the World Health Organisation, are distressed. Mentally disturbance and exotic thoughts entrenched in mind leads to sleep paralysis. Additionally science argues that sleep paralysis happen when our half part of brain is active and other half in deep slumber.
    Contrary in Islam it is believed that some sort of Jin “Al Kaboos” descends on your chest, and makes every part of your torso unmovable, and your screams inaudible. The Jin tends to strangle you in your sleep, you will get suffocated and something will be so heavy on your chest that it will not allow you to breath and then in instant you wake up trying to catch your breath.
    A Maghrebi Arab, a lexicographer of Arabic language and author of the famous Arabic dictionary Lisan Al-Arab Ibn al-Manzoor defined al-Jathoom in these words.
    Al-Jathaam or al-Jathoom is the kaboos that descends upon a person at night… the one that descends upon a person when he is sleeping is called al-jathoom. The kaboos is the one that descends upon the sleeper at night. And it was said that it is the precursor to epilepsy. One of the linguists said: I do not think that it is an Arabic word; rather it is al-naydalaan; it is also known as al-barook or al-jathoom - Lisaan al-Arab (6/190).
    By following the Sunnah ways of sleeping, we can protect ourselves from being stricken by this jin. A few of the Sunnahs are,
    1. Perform ablution before going to bed.
    2. Recite Ayatul Kursi, Surah Naas and Surah Falaq before sleeping.
    3. Always sleep on your right-hand side.
    4. Pray from Almighty Allah to protect you, if it is possible for you, recite Surah Mulk.
    May Allah protect us from all the evil spirits, Ameen!

    Kabous/Al-Kabus, known also as Al-Jathoom (which means nightmare), is a jinn belonging to the race of those who bring different ailments, trauma, and nightmares to humans. She is depicted as a jinn possessing a human with a nightmare, sitting on their chest while they are asleep.

    When I experienced sleep paralysis, I was lucky enough to already know what it was. But it was terrifying none the less. I saw a shadow man with his red eyes and long sharp teeth hanging from the wall. I watched it crawl towards me slowly and then he sat on my chest. The worst minute of my life.

  • @HassnainAli
    @HassnainAli 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    Believe it or not I had the same experience almost a month ago and that thing was sitting on my chest on his foot like people sit on flush and smiled terribly while coming closer to my face and at that point I woke up. Now you can call it Sleep paralysis or whatever you want to call but my question is why everyone feel/observe/watch the same thing if it's just a mere coincidence? Why don't people see different things? Why it gotta be something putting pressure on your chest and trying to horrify and suffocate you? I also had a room mate and one night he started shouting so loud that even I woke up and told me the same thing. I believe there are things that are beyond the scope of Science. I mean science can't even answer what exist in the fourth dimension yet and how many dimensions exist. I believe that's definitely a Jin that interfere at certain times and in certain states.

    I have experienced sleep paralysis many many times
    Sometimes with hallucinations and sometimes with sleep apnea ending up shouting woke up
    Sunnahs for sleep should be followed to avoid
    And yes it is also related to your mental health like when u are depressed or insecure u experience this
    On my depressed days I experienced sleep paralysis and nightmares so regularly that my mom started being with me at night to make me calm.

    Another explanation of Dobby showing up could be the brain trying to find a believable cause for the body being unable to move (since the body was in the sleep state at that moment). That believable cause manifested as little Dobby. The second time the brain knew it's gonna happen so it didn't try to justify body's inability to move.
    My religious perspective is that the Sunnah way of sleeping actually 'prepares' one's mind and body to go to sleep. Some of the things I can recall like dust off the bed, straightening the sheets, ayat ul kursi and finally the posture (sleep on right side with palm under the cheek). All of this is preparing you to go to sleep instead of, for example laying on a couch and 'falling' sleep unknowingly while watching TV :)

  • @jujubaam6612

    I have it almost for 3 to 5 times a month, the only thing u can move in this condition are your feets, just stay relax and move ur both feets clock wise and anti clock wise and then slowly u will be able to move ur whole body in seconds or a minute...

      same i break out of it by focusing on moving one finger even though i have tried getting up like from a laying position i got halfway up and fell back down while my whole body was shaking vigorously so easiest is moving one finger and in like a minute or so you'll break out of it

      I asked some questions from a pro lucid dreamer here is the dream
      A question for pro lucid dreamers!
      So it all started from yesterday when I watched some lucid dreaming videos and decided to try it. I did a method and it did not work obviously. so after that I thought it's fake and the next day TODAY I decided to take a nap in the evening I got into a dream which was bit longer than usual and I don't remember the complete dream but I remember it's ending. so I was in a hallway hiding from someone I don't remember who it was. but I was hiding behind a wall and suddenly I just got a felling that I am in this dream I mean I am alive in this dream I am lucid wow but suddenly I felt like if you have watched doctor strange movie the lady got doctor strange's soul out of his body and I felt the same but reverse I got kicked myself in the body and vision was very blurry because I watched lucid dreaming videos I knew how to do reality check I did it and I was lucid without any method any thing so continuing I felt blurry everything was Soo blurry and glitchy. Glitchy in the sense that like I felt like I had three hand but 2 of them were transparent 1 was solid. then suddenly I woke and I was just thinking dude what just happened I was lucid no way
      So my first question was how do I become lucid again.
      So my second question was was I even lucid I mean it felt like I am dreaming that I am lucid dreaming.
      So my third question was how do I become lucid again.
      There were more feelings that I just can't tell on text like why did I became lucid in the middle of a dream?

    • @lifechimpion2476
      @lifechimpion2476 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Naqia822 So your question is how can i do lucid dreaming again it is very easy i have done lucid dreaming yesterday. The technique i use is called MILD in this technique you get up four to five hours after you go to sleep at about 2,3 am . Then you have to lie down in a comfortable position and Relax Completely and don't move. Then you have to focus on any sound like the sound of fan or the sound of your breath or any other sound. I don't remember the name of this step but it is very important. After a while you will come to hypnagogic state. In this state I hear sharp noises or it seems that I am going up. At this point there is a chance that you will feel Strong Vibration Running Through Your Body this is sleep paralysis. There is no need to be afraid of this, it is completely normal Then you will go directly into the dream without sleeping. If you want more detail I would recommend you to watch this video th-cam.com/video/0XgF_59b9Cc/w-d-xo.html

    Some would claim that this is just related to stress and psychology etc and yes it is related to stress but it is also a deeply spiritual issue.
    Almost all stories of sleep paralysis are similar. I have 2 friends who have had this and I advised one of them, not to be stressful, to stay relaxed, confide in God.. religion.. spirituality and to mentally think of yourself as stronger than whatever that thing you are seeing. I understand from Quran that Devil causes tiredness, sadness, pessimism and I believe p*rn also has a link with this.
    After following my advice, one of my friends says, she rarely experienced it again. Its like it never existed. I am glad I could help. I can explain how it is linked to p*rn (in my opinion). Shared so maybe can benefit someone else.

I started getting sleep paralysis at the age of 10 till now , im 23 now, after doing alot of research i figured it out that it is related to stomach, after eating bad food if i have acidity and gas in my stomach, that night i get sleep paralysis otherwise i barely get it like 2/10 chance but when there is a stomach issue i get it the most, cant move or do anything but only see and if i use force it gets worse there is some technique to get rid of it and always recite kalma or any surah and it makes it easier then use force lightly

    I Have Series of stories of such Sleep Paralysis. I also thought my room is haunted or Someone had done something to me. Some of them was really really bad. But after series of such Paralysis i knew the hack how to get out of it. But sometimes you just come out and go back again in to that Parallel universe of Darkness where out of no where someone whispers from your back and suddenly a hand on your chest and you cant do anything :)
