    I have some reservations about the story of Purim. Firstly the Jewish people were (like often) in exile. It took a woman called Esther to seduce the then King of Persia (now Iran), put a curse on the king's wife by giving her a skin rash just before the ball, so that she could not be present. Ether, then the story goes, became the next queen of Persia not for love, but to beg the king to spare her fellow Jews in Iran. This in my view not an ideal story to tell little kids sitting a the Purim table!
