The lodge is somewhat far from the nearest town (at least we felt it wasn't worth driving out for food) so plan on having all of your meals on grounds. We were able to keep food for sandwiches and other quick meals in a cooler (we did not have a fridge in our room) that we requested with our car rental. The restaurant on grounds also has very good food if you don't mind the price.
As far as activities go, if you want to book any kind of tour through the lodge, I recommend doing it sooner rather than later because some activities do fill up quickly. Unfortunately, we were too late to sign up for a night tour with guides, so we trekked out on our own. Always bring a good flashlight when visiting a rainforest/cloud forest; the night life is amazing.
