This was one of the first i was ever exposed to. DEAD AHEAD. My friend kept saying, look at his eyes, he's trippin'. I love Lost Sailor. It speaks to and from my soul. Bob Weir is one of the greatest American songwriters and rhythm guitarists and singers. He is still going with his band. God bless this marvelous god-man of music and love and giving! ❤❤😂😂
Thank You so much for sharing this 🙏❤🤘💦⛵🌖🌊🧭⭐🌠🔭🔱👻⛓🌬🍃🍃💨💨🗽Cause it's a place you've never been Maybe a place you've never seen now You can hear them callin' on the wind Driftin' and dreamin', driftin' and dreamin'.
They also did a several shows about two weeks prior to this, at the Warfield in San Francisco. I was able to get tickets to three of them (it was all I could afford at the time!). They were all fabulous.
It took me until I was 40 to appreciate these somber Bobby songs, Sailor/Saint &My brother Esau, but in my books they are the last truly great batch of songs the Dead produced.
The Days Between is pretty late, career wise.. much later, and pretty epic, also So Many Roads, Standing on the Moon, Black Muddy River… four absolute killer Jerry ballads … that’s just off the top of my head. Def. look into the late 80s…and 90-91… i’ll agree there were some subpar Phil songs toward the end; i’m just sayin’ Sailor/ Saint ain’t the last great songwriting by any stretch of the imagination… imho, of course.
Memories......lost in time with those gone...Thanks Lord
If I'm ever fortunate enough to own a boat, she'll be called Driftin' & Dreamin'
this duo of songs sits near the top in my book... they never disappoint.
Best versions of lost sailor & saint of circumstance ever
Whats there not to love? The best live band ever locked in to oblivion
