- Released in 1975, the Porsche 930 Turbo would spark the imagination and dreams of many including our friend Magnus Walker. After collecting several early Turbos and still in need of the holy grail - a first year 1975 model, he turned to the folks at Autohaus Hamilton in Australia to help him acquire 1 of 15 right hand drive examples. We met up with Magnus in the canyons, along with the current 2015 Porsche 911 Turbo, to see just how much has changed in the last 40 years for this iconic car.

The 930 is the classic . The poster on every school boys wall including my own . I think that style or maybe as far as 993 or 964 was there finest hour .

Except their physics are crap compared to Forza or Gran Turismo. Especially Need for Speed shift 2, the physics in that game are the worst of any driving game. For me you can't have a good driving game without good physics

..Wow! i have a rather (loose) association with one of Magnus Walkers 911's! .... Port Kembla is where i live in Australia...and i've parked all my cars (Honda Integra "bug eyes"/Peugeot 206 GTi) at that beach in the video where Magnus Walker's 1975 Porsche 911 Turbo was parked and photographed! i've also been to Yass many times too.

I was enjoying this video until the point I realized it was a commercial for the new 911 Turbo. At least if the 991 Turbo was available with a manual gearbox I might be interested.

Beautiful car but the car at 2:00 was not the same car Magnus was driving. Notice the Recaro seats at 2:07 and the aftermarket boost gauge at 2:16. He said there are only 216 made and he found 2 different red RHD 75 turbos in the same video - that's rare!
Some would say he may have "restored" the car back to stock form, but the car in the aussie "test drive reenactment" appears much cleaner and those Recaro seats are way more beautiful and special.

I would rather have a gt3rs any day over a turbo.. but i still love the turbo but the gt3rs has a better sound..Seeing how magnus like the older raw 911's i'm surprised he isn't sporting a 964 clubsport or rs america or even a gt3rs 4.0. I know they are newer but they sound great.A 964 with a 3.8 kit and a ss exhaust sounds insane..

Sometimes I WANT a smart phone over a clamshell... WANT comforts of modern and modern tech... WANT a car that won't turn your spine into powder. And the 70's bug eye headlights bothered me in the 70's and bother me now!

is it me or did the colour grading of this make the cars look purple/grape coloured?

Im pretty disappointed by the size of the latest 911. The previous generation (997) tends to be compact, which makes it handful it places with tight spaces. The new one isn't exactly compact anymore compared to the other supercars.
You have to do something with colour balance during production. Really bad results. Red car looks like purple, or even violet. Plese invest time and money in quality.
not a real fan of the new soft sports cars. I'll take the dangerous and brutal analog 92 Turbo any day over the new one....the risk and threat is apart of what makes the older ones so special. Where is the sport in all wheel drive and electronic aids such as traction control that always bail you out? Sports cars have lost there bullocks. Which is somewhat intentional to attract more female clients.It seems that the Porsche Carrera GT was the last of the real masculine sports cars....it literally shouted "drive me with awe and respect or I will kill you", and that in essence is the risk of sport in sports car.
The one nfs game I've never heard about is nfs : "porch" a 1925 Bently twin turbo is cooler than those beetles same look since ever and same shit!
Funny! Marcus imports an RHD from Aussie to the US, and I imported an LHD from Adelaide to NZ! There is a BIG problem with RHD 911s though. I have two LHDs and an RHD race car. In the LHD, the clutch pedal is in line with the steering column. That makes heel-and-toeing an LHD 911 the easiest job in the world! Really. It is brilliant.
The RHD cars, on the other hand, have the accelerator in line with the steering column, and this makes it almost impossible to heel and toe. It sucks. It is awful. It is fun-ruining! And for this reason alone, I encourage you NEVER to buy an RHD 911.
Wow, this is amazing how much uglier they made the car, until you see them side by side. The original is a thing of outmost beauty and spot on proportions, the new one looks like crap.
The old one is🌹 but you will🤑 for spare parts.then you will😭 hope you have rhe new one🌷 because magnus own acarage🤔and you are not😷
I don't get Magnus's whole homeless bum thing. Are we supposed to take him more seriously as a "Guru" because of it. I know he is an expert and all that but why look like you smell bad? Need to know that back story..
