I might be in the minority here, but it's refreshing to see the map maker kept as close to the original FS15 map as they could including preserving the layout of the map. For new players it would be a good map to work on and give them a taste of what FS used to be like. It's a bit of pain that there were no small placeable areas put on the map to place some small productions like a grain mill or an oil mill, etc., but thankfully for PC with a little bit of finnessing you could use a couple of small fields to set these up. I'm definitely giving it a try, given this was one of the first maps I started on in the FS series.
I well remember the old FS 2015... Giants introduced several new features to the game, including forestry... a real trip down memory lane. Does really show how far the game has come since then, in appearance and in features. For the old FS maps, I have yet to see the original game map for FS 2011, although I could easily have overlooked it...
What type of lower end computer do you try these maps on? Looking to dabble into the pc version and wanting a place to start without having to put together a custom computer right away. Thank you
A mini pc with the AMD Ryzen 7840HS processor. There are tons of options out there for these things. Its basically the same processor in handhelds like the ROG Ally. I also did a video a few month back with some suggested graphic settings for lower end systems and handhelds th-cam.com/video/Gnjvc4VNUzg/w-d-xo.html There are some link in that video's description but a quick google search will turn up a ton mini pc's. AMD is killing it with their intergrated GPU's in the 7XXX and 8XXX series mobile chips.
Thanks a bunch! Most threads I’ve read people start suggesting $1000 setups and had a hard time finding reasonable starter setup. Really appreciate the response and your map tours are awesome.
