Those warmouth are the prettiest fish in Missouri. I have never caught one. One would look good in my aquarium. Another great video Jerry thanks for sharing.
Very nice mixed bag of fish. With a couple good looking eyes. My dream is to one day live with my home lake within view of my home. Great video. Thanks.for sharing
Thanks Ralph. I can see the lake from my house but only in the winter. We are trying to decide whether to remove some trees so we can see it year around. But, we don't want to loose our squirrel that frequent our bird feeder. Thanks so much for your continued support Ralph.
The warmouth is a beautiful fish. I'm not sure I would rate it above the Long Eared Sunfish but it is like the pretty girls back in High School, I'll take either one I can get LOL. Thanks as always Pap Mike.
Dewayne, when my dad was alive he was always wanting to troll but my brother and I rebelled. Not, sadly trolling is rapidly becoming my favorite way to fish. Remember the old folk song written by Bob Dylan called "THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN." Thanks so much for taking time to comment.
Yes, Pomme de Terre has lots of Muskie. We have fishermen come here from Wisconsin and other well known Muskie venues and fish our tournaments. I don't fish specifically for Muskie any more but I have caught several over the years. My largest was 38" long. Thanks and good to get a response from one of my first viewers.
One of the things I like about fishing for Walleye is that your target is more topographic in nature instead of structure specific like in fishing for bass or crappie, etc. All fish relate to topographic changes so you have a chance to catch anything where as object structures like brush or trees or large boulders hold only fish that like that type of structure. That is why you catch so many other species when Walleye fishing. Thanks as always Wayn.
FISHING is work LOL. But, I love every minute of it. Fishing is like everything else, you get out of it what you put into it !!!!! As for the Warmouth, they prefer more still water habitat and in Missouri we have thousands of miles of rivers and streams although we have big lakes and reservoirs they are fed by the faster water. Anyway I love all species of fish and it was more of a thrill for me to catch the warmouth than a walleye. Thanks like always SK.
Until I became hooked on trolling I didn't realize that every specie of fish will hit crankbaits. No matter what we are trolling for it always ends up being a multi - species trip!!! That's pretty much why I decided to do a multi - specie channel.
Cameron, I fish to different venues in the Spring. Here in Missouri the Walleye travel up the tributaries in many of our lakes so I fish up the tributaries where we catch Walleye 2 to 6 or 8 feet deep in these rivers. However not all lakes have significant tributaries for spawning upstream. And not all Walleye go upstream to spawn. For those we try to fish from 6 to 12 feet. In both cases we try to maintain frequent contact with the bottom. Hope this helps. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Mark, I have never used lead core line although I have some. This was in July and we were targeting 5 to 10 feet deep. In the spring and early summer we typically go 10 to 14 feet. If fish are feeding deeper than that we use we don't troll. We use jigs or spoons or bait rigs. We use line counter reels and on this trip we were trolling 100 to 120 feet back. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Jerry Routh thanks Jerry. I hope to fish and get to know pomme this spring for crappie and walleye. Never really fished it. Hope I see you there sometime so I can introduce myself.
Joshua, I didn't know you were from the bootheel. How far from my favorite lake, Reelfoot? I caught several from ED Jones Lake near Reelfoot. They are a beautiful fish. Thanks so much for your comments.
Well i am from Doniphan, but the eastern edge of the bootheel isn't too far from here. Im probably two and half hours from Reelfoot. It's strange because when i caught a warmouth last year in my video i think i also said the same thing about how im lucky to get maybe one per year. Some of us around here call the entire section of southeast Missouri the bootheel even though it really isn't in the boot. We call all of the area that is flatlands with rice and cotton, swamps and ditches the bootheel. Basically everything south of hwy 60
Timothy, you are watching too closely. My wife would probably have caught the first fish if she had been there LOL. It was really tough fishing as you could tell. We just got lucky. Thanks for watching even if you did a hurtful comment!!!!!!!

A nice fishing adventure. Multi species fishing.

Walleye is absolutely fabulous table-fare.
What depth do you troll for walleye in the spring

How deep do you typically troll for walleye on pomme?? Do you use lead core?

To me, it looked like you caught the first fish....that's because your wife wasn't there. All in all a fun fishing day.
