I Survived 100 DAYS in Minecraft SKYFACTORY 4!

- Today I spent 100 days in Minecraft SkyFactory 4 with Coffeeboy!
This challenging adventure takes a heavy toll as we are alone on an island floating above the void, never to leave. If we were to fall off the edge, we would come right back down to the island.
We later discover the trees that grow aren't normal trees, but have minerals and exotic resources inside of them! Thus, starting our adventure on Day 0.

I just got a gaming pc and this was the first mod I downloaded and played. So far I’m having a blast and so hyped since I’m used to just getting bored of vanilla minecraft on Xbox. Been watching people play mods since I was a teen in the early 2010’s

Do you remember how you solved the issue of having an overflow of certain liquids into your basins? I have pretty similar setup except mine is not automatic since half my basins will not fill completely leaving me to have to destroy and redo each time i want to do a different amber
Yeah me and Coffee had a similar problem earlier on. Once we got enough materials, we switched to the automatic system (on Day 30) and it worked a lot better.
@@MrGraeGrae Yeah I currently have an automatic system pulling my ambers straight from my bonsai farm, I just can’t for the life of me get the liquid to drain automatically
@@TechTCRI’m stealing this from LostArchitect. But he put a redstocke clock over the faucets or whatever is extracting the alloy. Set it to a low tick rate and it auto hits the faucet
just use enriching factory and energized smelter from mekanism. 2x yield and it will be WAY better than a whole smeltery.

I actually already have a video on that! It’s my latest upload. It doesn’t go through much of the whole thing, just the smeltery and tank/ casting area and how to build.

Hey! Why not just not have the smeltery? Because why have ore doubling when you have infinite resources.
2nd is that you can store all of your acorns and resin in the folders and keep them in there until you need that resource, then bulk make amber then smelt them and you have resources.
3rd is that you can have only the folders of the resources you want from the bonsai in the cabinet, example: only have resin and acorn folders and you get only those resources from the bonsais.
Great questions! In fact, we kept everything from the bonsai's in the filing cabinets, as mentioned on day 50 (09:46).
We had a smeltery because the resources that came from the bonsai's were not very useful, as the common items you get are acorns and resin. On day 32 (07:01), we used packagers (aka auto-crafters) to turn those materials into amber blocks. Those amber blocks were then put into the smeltery system and cast as blocks again using the Tinker Tank (first mentioned on Day 30 (06:33)).
For example, the Iron Bonsai gave us Iron acorns and resin, which can't be used to craft much, but we made Iron Amber from them. That Iron Amber was then smelted down and cast as an Iron Block.
In fact, we tried to keep as much as possible. For example, the Bone Bonsai gave us acorns, resin, and bones. Only a handful of the bonsais gave extra items, so those were as easy as adding an extra folder in their cabinets.

@@MrGraeGrae oh I got that part, it’s just that you could have used mekanism smelters for bulk production and speed and put all your ore in folders
Also you don’t need folders for saplings, oak and stuff because the bonsai will only produce what’s in the folders in the cabinet

if you don't mind me asking, what Vien miner do you use? I've been trying to find a Vien miner that works in sky factory, but I just can't find one.
I’m not entirely sure xD It’s just whatever came in the SF4 mod pack.
the vein mine in sky factory 4 is excavate, just search excavate in the controls and it will pop up

we used an external VPN called Hamachi. You can also use a mod called Essentials. Both work great!

This is Sky Factory 4 Version 4.2.2, but I upgraded to V4.2.4 which works the same.
Mind If I ask what you did with the Diamond Amber on day 96/97 and how did you fix the issue on the diamond production?
I believe the problem was with the reinforced filter to the packager. It wasn't set correctly, in which it'd only put Diamond Amber in the packager, rather than both amber and acorns. Thus not making any diamonds xD
@@MrGraeGrae True but the only way to make liquid diamond from diamond amber I've seen was to use the nuclear craft melter instead of the smelter. Would it be better to do that or just make the acorns into straight diamonds?
@@inyourface195 I'd rather make them into straight diamonds. That's what I'm doing currently on my 500 Days recoding. I had to smelt down all of the Diamond Amber I made on day 96/97 in a different furnace (I forget the name), then pump it into the tinker tank.

Why auto packager overflowed??
wdym "snad machine" and how do you make/get it?
Snad comes from Sand. It basically makes plants like Sugar Cane grow faster. Coffee put another block in the middle of the Snad that makes the Sugarcane grow much faster and taller. Though I can’t remember what that block was called haha, it was some kind of redstone repeater block.

I had to do some research to remember this haha,
Coffee used a Redstone Clock set at the fastest settings, with plants set on “Snad” to get the really fast, infinite plants.

I don’t, this mod pack consists of a lot of Google-ing xD You learn tricks along the way which helps in future builds or machines

I can’t recall, I believe we got it from materials in the nether. Manyullyn was definitely a grind for a few days since it was so useful.

Does anyone know how the lava power generator was made?
It’s made of diamond cauldrons, cobble Gen blocks, automated users, simple thermal gens, and piping etc. I’ll make a video on that machine once I get enough time!

why are you putting hoppers under the bonnsai pots😭 just put them straight onto the file cabinates
We found later that the hoppers weren’t needed, so we put a double chest under both bonsais. The chest is there to sort the items we don’t need, like wood, saplings, or any other byproducts that’s not useful.
