Great instructive video. We are future RV owners and I’m debating between a bumper pull and a fifth wheel. Fifth wheel is my first choice but we have two kayaks and two e-bike’s. I think your video has just about made my mine up for a fifth wheel. It looks like that rack is around 2 grand. That’s a big spend but probably worth it.
The rack isn't cheap for sure, but it has been great for us. When ordering, send the specs for your bikes and kayaks as well as the RV, and they will let you know if everything will work with what you have. That gives a little peace of mind for a large expenditure.
Thanks for this video. My wife and I just upgraded from a travel trailer to a 2024 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS. We used to carry our 11 foot kayaks in a rack on the truck but the fifth wheel ended that. This seems like a good solution. How long is your bigger kayak and how far up does it extend past the roofline of your fifth wheel? I think that I am going to put a front receiver on my truck and put my mountain bike up there where I can see it.
I'll have to remeasure my longest kayak as I've forgotten its length. Our 13 ft tandem is too long. However, if you contact Yakups they would make sure it would work with your kayaks and camper. My longest does not go up past the high point of our roof/AC.
We have same set up. Thanks for the video. Helped us out alot when loading for the first time. Do you get a lot of wobbliness when driving? Ours seems to be bouncing around and wobbling back and forth. We didn't get any shims with it so maybe that is the issue?
Mine didn't have to be reinforced on this camper. However, we put a normal bike rack on our first camper and it broke the welds on the bumper. Be sure to check with rvkayakracks.com before ordering as they can tell you if it will work or not for your camper.
We just bought one from a private party for $1100. Like brand new. I noticed that your kayaks lean back a little as does ours. Have you seen any issues with this. Also are those pans holding up for you since ours sit directly on them. We have fishing kayaks that actually weigh right at 67 pounds each. Thanks for the video.
We've seen no issues with the kayaks leaning. The pans are bent up a little but that is because the bottom bumps the ground sometimes when we are backing in or pulling out of our driveway so they've protected the kayaks more than once. So far so good with ours. It does bounce around more than I'd like but that still has not produced any issues that I'm aware of.
It is a Yakups brand we got at www.rvkayakracks.com. They will run you through a pretty thorough questionairre about your camper and kayaks/bikes to make sure it will work with your rig and equipment.ww.rvkayakracks.com
Great video. We also have a jayco 321rsts. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope it was helpful. We've enjoyed our rack and taking our kayaks/bikes almost everywhere we go.

Yes, ours does wobble. Seems to wobble more now that i actually have the right clamp. Go figure :-)
My hitch says its only rated at 150 lbs on my 5th wheel. Did you get yours reinforced at a weld shop?

What about your Back-up camera? Do the Kayaks block the view?
No they don,t.
I love Gulf Shores resort
We do too. Walking distance from most things we do
