Agreed on the Eoxian (and presumably eventual Berserker-style robotic ships) "no life support" ships rules. Just treat it as "internal comms" with identical game effects instead. Of course it does make boarding actions more of a nuisance for puny organic types who still need to do that irritating inhale/exhale thing they do, and both undead and robots should be able to loiter on a drifting wreck practically forever even with a Wrecked power core rather than 2d6 days - although you'd think the engineer would get it fixed eventually. You get your Character Ops book yet? Be nice to see you round this out with the two new starship roles - at which point the damn starship book will probably come out and leave you with more work to do. :)
I think you could convey the Intimidate checks as a 'call for emergency action'. It's not the captain who is threatening you directly, they're just reminding you of what the enemy will do if you fail. (No pressure, right?) 😅
Any update the roles and rules from the Character Operations Manual? These videos have cleared up so much of my understanding of Starship Combat. Hopefully I'll be able to run it better for my game. Thank you so much.
And the Chief Mate as well down the road? I know Pathfinder 2e has taken priority, but my wife plays a Technomancer and is curious about your take on both new ship positions.
This is the first time I have to immediately disagree. You don't give a gunner a bonus if the player can throw a dice into a glass across the room You don't give a bonus to the engneer if the player can fix your laptop Why should one player get a bonus because of how well they can do something out of game?

Is just shouting "KHAAAAAAAAAN!" as a taunt enough to get a bonus on my checks? :D
..... I'd allow it.

This series was super helpful. Thanks for making it.
Me, finishing this series on starship combat: (in the voice of The Matrix's Neo) "I know starships"
No mention of a magic officer (magos or arcanic officer)?
Any summary yet on the Magic Officer (Character Operations Manual)?
Not yet... I'm still waiting on my book to arrive.
And the Chief Mate as well down the road? I know Pathfinder 2e has taken priority, but my wife plays a Technomancer and is curious about your take on both new ship positions.
First!
Ha! My first "First!" I think this means I've made it??
