I’m riding round the coast of Great Britain to raise money for St Wilfrid’s hospice in Eastbourne in honour of my dad who passed away from cancer in 2020. Details below on how to donate.
On todays episode I ride some gorgeous roads around the Aberdeenshire coast, stumble upon a whisky distillery and arrive at the famous John o’Groats! What a day!!!

Hi john been watching your journey it’s fantastic what your doing in memory of your dad witch I’m sure he’s watching over you and having a giggle or too. I also lost my sister around the same time and fully understand what your going through right now. Keep up the fantastic journey mate. I am a fellow van van owner. You're right about the bike choice. You don't necessarily need a monster Tourer to do the job. I met a guy who rode from Leicester to his second home in Portugal on his Honda CD185 and did it several times a year.
For sure!!! Just need a set of wheels. However, I don’t think I’ll be doing a trip like this on the van van again. My butt is still vibrating from the trip!! 🤣🤣 Your friend has some stones to do that trip on a CD185👌

@@moto-coupe yeh that would be him on the way back south. He was down here in the Borders a few weeks ago. Your trip is no joke. More than many would do on a bike a lot bigger, and doing it for a good cause too. 👍
24:27 Looks cold. Since leaving GB for Portugal and more lately Thailand, I have got too used to hot weather. I love the simple offset clock and warning lights on the VanVan.
It was pretty cold, huge difference from a couple of days previous! Wow, must be awesome riding in hot weather! Although as soon as you stop moving it gets a bit hot in the jacket I bet!! Yea the van van has so much mojo, I really love it. Makes me smile every time I see it.
@@moto-coupe It gets really hot in my mesh gear when I stop. In the humidity, my head is drenched in my helmet. At the moment up north it's cool.

What silencer is on your bike ? , sounds good , not too noisy .
@@allseeingotto2912 - it’s a black widow exhaust and it’s really really really loud in person. Too loud really. Came with the bike. It’s cool for short journeys but after 1k miles + it gets a bit much 😰

Hi John, enjoying watching your route round the UK. How are you finding the Beeline? Are they any good and are the instructions clear enough?

I have two answers for the Beeline.
1. If you’re doing short journeys it’s awesome. It’s small, clear and the battery lasts forever. Love it.
2. If your doing long journeys, avoid at all costs!!!! Haha!! Not being able to see the road around you, lay of the land and upcoming turnings is infuriating and I took so many unnecessary detours. In my first hand experience of 19 days non stop for 3,900 miles, it was out of its depth for this kind of journey and I wish I had a more full featured sat nav.
But i still love it for local or overnight trips so will not get rid of it. Might do a full video later in the year.
