Gorgeous tone, totally inspiring. I actually bought the BB Preamp after watching this! I run an ENGL 570, Marshall 9100, and TC Electronic G-Force. Never had better tone!
Insanely good guitarist. Feeling out of hell. And soooooo many cool riffs and lines. There's Hendrix, Johnson, Vai, Satch and Timmons, mixed in a package that just kicks ass. And you are listening to that package... The packages name is ANDY TIMMONS.. Wish i could play like that.
with gain. and my 11th fret does that also, but i think its because the string taps the fret and turns into a pinch harmonic. if you sustain a note long enough with enough gain you will get feedback.
on their page Boogie says it is recomended to use Boogie tubes for best performance, cause they are the ones which match best to the bias of set in the amps which as you said cant be adjusted, if other tubes are used, the voltage could be low or too much for them which either not drive them enough or overdrive them. So i think i would use boogie tubes
Even though i,m a Marshall player, when it comes to Mesa tones as I always says the Mark Series, Stiletto and Lone Star are the best. Does someone knows what pickups he uses on this guitar? It,s sounds beautiful.
I've got a Mesa Nomad 45, wonderful amp and you get them for about £500 used, or less! It's nails the old Santana tone. Andy Timmins is one of the best.
as far as i know every mesa is fixed bias and should be used only with boogie tubes. The lonestar is with 6L6s the stiletto is with EL34s, thats why he likes to combine them togehter it is really versatile this way
I tried the lone star and is great but I also liked the Roadster. Got I don,t know which one is better. Both has unique sounds. By the way Andy has one of the best tones I ever heard.
I have two friends that work with these amps all the times and they are gorgeous. They are the best damned looking built and sounding amps you'll ever hear.
god dammit if i had money i'd buy that amp...for some reason i find the sound a bit similar to marshal half stacks that i hear every now and then but this one seems to give out a better reverb and a pretty good rock setting that i truly love
well im sure andy timmons with a blues deluxe sounds better than most of us with the most expensive amp in the world. tone is in the hands man, not the gear.
the blues deluxe is nice, but only for blues. anything else, its not so well. its really snappy. i was playing an epiphone dot through it with the neck pickup and it sounded like a tele going through it.
Best you can do is get a v twin and a blues driver, set blues driver on about 1/4 tone and no tone, using a decent clean channel on a tube amp and you will get relatively close but it wont be the real thing, however again to do all that with a decent tube amp your talking around 1200 for everything MIN ( you use the blues driver as boost for solo's- the v twin compresses at high gain levels)
Personally mixed feelings about Mesas - quite like the Lone Star (and Andy makes it sing...) but not Stilettos or Rec's. In Europe, get an ENGL for half the price of a Boogie, or an Elmwood for similar money but far better tone!
You can use what ever brand tube that floats your boat. You do not have to use Boogie Tubes. Fixed Biasing= Having to use Boogie Tubes is totally False.
Mesas sound great so to fenders, if he likes fenders more than mesas who cares. Just because an amp is $3,000 doesnt make it the best amp for everyone.
No way, not even close man. I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and I changed the speaker for it to sound better, and it does sound really nice, but it doesn't touch a Mesa. Mesas are not production line high priced amps, they are all hand made and perfect. It's a shame that Marshall amps suck and are so inconsistent nowdays. they used to be awesome, but now they suck, and are waaaaay overpriced.
This video is the reason I bought a Lonestar and BB Preamp - tone is just heavenly. What a nice guy too, really cool
i can't get enough of this video. mesa boogie is the greatest.
Gorgeous tone, totally inspiring. I actually bought the BB Preamp after watching this! I run an ENGL 570, Marshall 9100, and TC Electronic G-Force. Never had better tone!
so much feeling in his choice of notes, hes great
oh my god the opening clean on the lonestar makes me shiver

Wish i could play like that.
Freakin' great tone. Love the reverb.
Perfect tone! great playing. Excelent in every way. Hope you have instructional videos, will search for it...

GIT is located in Los Angeles. It's The Guitar Institute of Technology, a smaller part of the entire Musician's Institute
This guy is a genius!!! My favorite player along with Guthrie Govan!
i watch this video so much.
Love this clip
his tone is amazing!

sooo soo warm
I went to one of his clinics a few months ago, he said that the POD is just used as a backup in case something happens to his Mesas.
Sounds nice!
i just saw him in clinic a couple minutes ago,
the lonestar sounds amazing!
he also used a stileto which tbh didnt sound as good
yeah, GIT is a part of Musician's Institute. I have been there.
Man thats tone and control
I've got a Mesa Nomad 45, wonderful amp and you get them for about £500 used, or less! It's nails the old Santana tone. Andy Timmins is one of the best.
Is it a tube preamp?
I wish he mentioned that PODxt Pro.
tasty player! great tone and knowledgable guy....
as far as i know every mesa is fixed bias and should be used only with boogie tubes. The lonestar is with 6L6s the stiletto is with EL34s, thats why he likes to combine them togehter it is really versatile this way
mesa is just awesome....
can anyone tell me how to get that nice warm reverb/echo effect? thanx
a proffesional sound
I tried the lone star and is great but I also liked the Roadster. Got I don,t know which one is better. Both has unique sounds. By the way Andy has one of the best tones I ever heard.

joe bonamassa and this guy have got the best tones in the world
holy shit he is so amazing ^^
i got his pick at mojo music in washington.. he rocks
his tone makes me say omg like a valley girl... its so warm, it reminds me of tasty creamy soup or something of that nature
what is the song he's talking about at 01:28?
i used to say that, got one
now i say, its what ive always wanted
That's what I want. A mesa!
could someone tell me why mesa is everyones #1 amp choice?
(i just started playing guitar :])
Is this a tube preamp?
is this at Musician's institute?
but u also use an ibanez, right?
can sumbody help me. whats the best mesa boogie amp within £200, i like to play heavy metal hard rock and nice tone. can somebody recomend
such a nice amp. it can own marshall or krank
He's got the lot !
I just bought a dimarzio Cruiser because of this guy!!!!
it is clear distortion cause of mesa boogie not by itself :) mesa is soo clean... damn i can't afford one boogie...
wow.
god dammit if i had money i'd buy that amp...for some reason i find the sound a bit similar to marshal half stacks that i hear every now and then but this one seems to give out a better reverb and a pretty good rock setting that i truly love
And Andy isn't a Spring Chicken himself. Remember he was around in the 80's in Danger Danger. I think he's in his mid 40's.
well im sure andy timmons with a blues deluxe sounds better than most of us with the most expensive amp in the world.
tone is in the hands man, not the gear.
super amp
He makes that Ibanez sound like a strat.
No Mesa will make you play like Andy:)
my brother met andy
dam ryt ! :)
I would like to hear guthrie govan playing with that rig¡
the blues deluxe is nice, but only for blues. anything else, its not so well. its really snappy. i was playing an epiphone dot through it with the neck pickup and it sounded like a tele going through it.

mesa rules, but are his hands to make this sound!
haha i no right i actually figured out the intro to electric gypsy with this video lol
Sounds excellent. Better than all those other crap pedals...
who dosent?
mesa ownz 'em all
Personally mixed feelings about Mesas - quite like the Lone Star (and Andy makes it sing...) but not Stilettos or Rec's.
In Europe, get an ENGL for half the price of a Boogie, or an Elmwood for similar money but far better tone!
i would still rather have a mesa than a fender deluxe
OMG
get a fender blues deluxe for similar tone at half the price
hmm
Maybe tennisaa finishes the same way that Cobain, but nobody would know him...It would be funny!! =D
You can use what ever brand tube that floats your boat. You do not have to use Boogie Tubes. Fixed Biasing= Having to use Boogie Tubes is totally False.

account for the pickups also guys! to get that sound its dimarzio the neck pickup that does it wih the bb
It's delay

That sad part is that Andy Timmons doesn't know how badly he needs your guitar expertise to improve his tone.
lol @ tennisaa, sorry to say so mate, but even for an old fart with 15 years more experience playin, u aint got shit on andy.
Doesn't exist.
