A combination of both Kamelot and Serenity. In fact, they have selected the best elements from each of the above mentioned bands. To my ears it is nothing new. To dig deeper, when I first heard Delain-April Rain, although it sounded a little bit on the pop-ish side, I really enjoyed the material because it is unpredictable and goes the way in which you wouldn't expect. That doesn't mean that Ad infinitum sounds bad, in fact, this is a familiar beauty you know it for so long.
