Sykkuno venting as Jackal in 2nd round, made me realise the genius of putting an evil guesser with Jackal and Engineer in lobby.
It is the best. That way the engineers aren’t just instant dead when someone sees them vent too!
The fact that Toast was so close to losing the game when he almost confessed that he was the Arsonist when a body was reported was lucky af

Arsonist has got to be my all time favorite role in mafia games. The out of nowhere killing of everyone is just the best. I really wish the mod had an animation for it like the whole map going in flames or something. Would be sick.
It doesn't have much to do with the actual play of the game though. Very little deception or detecting deception. I don't like it.
Arsonist would have been better if it ignited the players proximity to the Arsonist and caused the victim to die 5 seconds later. Meaning the Arson has to douse everyone & then very blatantly chase everyone down.
Victims on fire could spread the fire to other victims, making the play to ignite in a crowded situation to avoid Jackal/Imposters/Sheriff from killing the Arson to save the round
@@EGarrett01 Agree, although its fun, I think its a little bit too op.
It works in the original game Town of Salem because there are detective roles that can check you and see you're arsonist/killer roles can know you're arso if they attack you. No way to tell here at all.
it's kinda boring and it doesn't challenge the players much. and the only counter it has is to be killed or be voted out

@Kurocon well because he wasn't actually trying to vote jack out. If Jack hadn't called him out and the others weren't with each other then Toast as the arso would want everyone to skip, or vote for the person who wasn't doused. That way he could win as arso.
Toast having a shield and being an Arsonist is just perfect of toast watching his friends burn.
Imagine that the impostors are having a good run then suddenly the arsonist just sets everyone on fire, arsonists are the perfect run killers if they were still to be alive in the game
That's exactly what happened many times on stream to the point they removed the role, it was too op .. it needs to be patched like increase the wait time or smth
@@TheHigherSpace There's just no good way to balance it. It's basically just a task win but one person can do it. What makes task win balanced is that EVERYONE has to do their tasks, which most of the time just doesn't happen. All it does is give a time limit for each game based on cooldown of arsonist.
@@spugelo359 Maybe if there was another role that could inspect people and check if they're doused, cursed or warlocked. And be able to cleanse those states as another ability, but that one would have to have a big cooldown as well. The "Witch Doctor".
@@martinlagman Maybe just add it onto medic as a buff for the role. Many times I see the shielded person either get guessed or kill themselves because of a wrong sheriff guess. Limit it to one use and it should be good.
@@NatePhan i think they should lower the douse cd but reset it each round, that way there’s more skill involved, and more counter play (emergency meetings)

@@EGarrett01 Which is why its an extra optional role amongst many that gets routed for others periodically. When it gets stale, another takes its place. When it becomes new again, it gets brought back in.

In my humble opinion, the Arsonist role is one of the most fun in concept to me and it ends up being executed perfectly.
ToS arsonist is even better. In ToS you have to quietly douse enough of the town and not arise suspicion from the town investigative roles, so when you finally ignite and half of the lobby just dies and everyone is left scrambling it's more fun.
3:50 I thought Valkyrae was being dumb but that was a great Jester play from her. Why would a crew member say Sykkuno is baiting the evil guesser? Crew would want that. So Rae sounds like she's trying to warn / help her impostor teammate. Too bad they didn't really sus her for this.

To discover the arsonist, in the meetings I think people should know who was douse. Like the red circle when you're cursed.
I feel like they should just play town of Salem at this point.
New Role: The Taunter. An Impostor with the ability to write anonymous messages to the crewmates during meetings. Imagine the possibilities.

I actually think it would be really nice to have an impostor that, after dying, can see all the roles and tell his partner. The big downside would be that venting is disabled and kill cooldown is 3 times as long as the regular impostor.
This way its actually really hard to get yourself voted out due to suspicion, to balance out the power that is gained by the partner dying. The ideal strategy for crewmates and neutral roles is to effectively not kill that impostor untill its absolutely neccesary.
@@trapchan386 To mislead the crewmates during meetings. It's another way to give information that may confuse them or they may figure out. But you can do it as someone who they KNOW is the impostor, but don't know which person you are. Kind of the opposite of the normal situation.

I think you should have the mod updated that when the arsonist have doused everyone, when the ignition part is in cooldown, everyone's screen should have 'fire indication' making everyone panic.

I think that might be how the the arsonist role originally worked? Cause if I remember from Sykunnos video when he was arsonist a while back the strat was to stay alive and then douse who ever is left but I may be mis-remembering
Arsonist is not OP in Proximity if people stop standing together in groups of 3, or more
I don't think it is that op as you can still be killed by the imposters and jackal. And I think resetting after meetings would make dousing in the early game kinda pointless.
@@kennymccormick2370 but standing I groups is what proximity is for ig bc you can talk to each other making small talk it's hard to avoid grouping so I think in non proxy among us it would be extra hard for arsonist
You need to try the game Town of Salem, all of the roles are based on it. Its mobile and on pc and its incredibly fun!

I have seen this role before from sundees video it’s a very interesting role definitely makes the games more interesting
A cool role that could be added is a crew mate that takes their killer with them. For example if a imposter kills them the imposter will also die.
Another role this one for the imposters.
Is one where the imposter has 10 seconds to kill someone or they’ll die, with 60 second intervals.
I don’t have names for these roles I’m just not good at naming things but I do believe they’ll be super cool additions to the game.
Maybe the timing one could be called the bomb or something since it’s basically a ticking time bomb

There are so many different things you could have said to joke about being the arsonist. Personally “Hey can someone turn the AC down?”
I thought about the first game some more and had to come back to it, because I was thinking about Charlie not being able to kill toast and Abey just exploding without any real reactions on facecams, so I skipped the the ending and it all make sense
Charlie was the witch, Abey was the evil guesser, kinda puts a weird spin on the rest of the game, the imposters dying first and second
It was like a villain in a movie scene, he tried to give a speech about his evil plan and was interrupted xD That's why you don't explain the plan folks
