I have this coming in March on pre-order! I love this extended play, your excitement was fun to watch. My wife and I play tons of games together(we love Stonemaier games, Viticulture and Scythe(my #1 game) also looking to get Charterstone very soon) and we like to sit outside drink coffee and watch the wild birds we feed in the yard so this game is perfect for us.
@6:32 The middle bird is wild nest. This doesn't functionally make a difference, since the one taken scores more and I think that means the automa takes that, but it counts as a match according to the previous video.
Can you explain the difference? Edit: I saw another comment that I think made it clear for me. It’s getting points for the # of birds fulfilling the goal vs the # of eggs fulfilling the goal.
24:45 this time he forgot to change the goal card to round 3! The automa would have had a higher base score for that goal and changed the outcome when scoring it.
@@PauloRenato23 The automa point/goal reference card directly above the round card has increasing base score for the automa based on what round you are in. It was left on round 2 after the reset to round 3. It should have been changed to the round 3 card. I just checked my game and that goal for the automa would be 8 base points in round 3 instead of the 5 being played against.
Thanks for the video showing game play! I did spot one error... for the second round scoring tile, you just count each bird with that type of nest containing at least one egg, and not each egg in those nests. So, you had 2, not 6 in that case.
I’m so glad you realized the round 2 mistake bc my anxiety was building with every new wrong play 😂 My bf and I are birders and he got this for his bday. Thanks for posting this! ❤️🐦
LOL...several mistakes have been made. When he reversed the round 2 mistake, he didn't remove the card he had previously placed under his Horned Lark. When he played his 3 eggs, he forgot to move the action counter over, so he missed played the extra egg from his Sparrow. In round one (in the other video), he had drawn a card, but didn't move his action counter and later forgot he had drawn since he used the drawn card as a discard to get an extra food. I've never played the game. I was watching the video to see how it played to see if it looked like it was worth getting. I've learned that you have to be very careful not to miss anything :D. Ultimately, though, he was trying to demonstrate the game at the same time, so I don't think anyone can criticize him for those mistakes. I certainly agree that it is a great video and love that he posted it.
Wow man. You were almost done! You couldn’t play for a few more minutes? You didn’t want us to see you lose? Lol. Anyway Wingspan is on its way to my house. I can’t wait o play this bad boy! Hopefully I have cards that aren’t misspelled or whatever the problems were since Stonemaier just re-upped.
THANK YOU for the extended Gameplay.
i can really tell how much you are enjoying this game. I also very much enjoyed watching your enjoyment. Can't wait to start playing myself!!!
I kept waiting for the “bird in hand” pun Richard! You did not disappoint😉 Thank you for being the best at explaining solo variants
2:10 *gasp* ‘Black Vulture ooooooo I wants it my precious!’ 🤣
09:50 - Richard impersonating a seagull - very thematically correct!
LOL!

Note added... Thanks :)
Is the round 2 public goal eggs in bowl nests, or bowl nest birds with eggs? If it's the latter, Rahdo only has 2, not 6.
Can you explain the difference?

Colin Gillespie I understood totally the difference in the two things that you said.
Thing's I never thought I'd hear in one of Rahdo's run throughs
"He never ate this rodent"
23:43 you gave yourself the win cause of eggs but its how many birds with that specific nest that have eggs on them. which in this case you only had 2
Note added to when he first did this goof... Thanks :)
18:35, throws a cube on "draw cards" to show what he's not doing, then leaves it there
Note added... Thanks :)
I laughed so hard!!

Don't understand what you are trying to say... didn't he rotate the round card?

@26:30 Would you get both fish dice, or is the card just take a single dice?

Does the action taken at 6:59 require the payment of one egg so he should only net +2 eggs?
no... that Egg on the top is for when you Play a Bird card on that Column
Awesome gameplay!!! I can't wait for my copy to arrive.
Think you missed your sparrow laying an egg action on your last turn of round 2
timestamp please

To be fair it could have been David Attenborough too
When you get food and pick a type do you pick up all of the one type of food?
correct :)
You always get 1 food per die, not all of one type.
@@Airispekt argh, you're right! i was thinking of another game i've recently played (I play too many games!!!)
@@rahdo Also - the automobon DOES take all of one type, so it's a very understandable mistake :D.
TTTHHHEEEMMMAAAAAATTIIC!!!!
How did you forget you drew the ibis!? Haha
i am clearly a bird brain! :)
oooOOooOOOOO
