Hi Nicole, I have used hydrangeas in almost all my wedding customer’s bouquets. Fresh cut, set in quick dip then cold water/room temp bucket to hydrate overnight. I mist water on the blooms too.
When I am designing, fresh cut, dip in alum. (It is a pickling spice found in any grocery store.) Then place in a vase or bucket. They do not droop at the church!

This method also works to re-hydrate wilted hydrangea.... I have been a florist for more than 35 years, I have friends who have rehydrated hydrangea from the Rose Parade, tried and true! Happy hydrangea, happy customers. Also, NEVER place hydrangea into floral foam, vase of water, with floral preservative is best. Also can dip stems into powdered alum before placing stem into vase.

Don’t be afraid of hydrangeas! I promise, alum works! I can get them to live for 10 days when I cut, dip in alum and change the water ever other day.

I use hydrangeas often in my arrangements and have learned that it’s important to cut blooms when all of the little flowers are completely opened. If the bloom is slightly immature at the time it is cut, it can have a tendency to wilt. I also cut the stems on an angle and then another cut up the stem, use quick dip and then hydrate for at least several hours. I hope you find success with them, yours are gorgeous!

We hydrate Hydrangeas by submerging the whole head in cool water and letting them sit for about an hour. It is the only flower that we do this with and it works great.

One more great tip, if your lilies get pollen dropped on the petals, use a bent pipe cleaner to dust the pollen off....also if you get lily pollen on your clothes, don't brush it away with your hand, it will just grind it into the fabric.... instead use scotch tape to lift it off the surface of the material....mucho better!

Nicole, check out last video Serina (You Can’t Eat The Grass) did with her bouquets. She showed Ian how to make a large paper wrap for her $40 bouquets. She uses two folded sheets, staples them together and wraps the bouquets. The flowers show up beautifully in a huge display of color. You don’t have to buy larger sheets. 😊💕

I heard with hydrangeas you can submerge the entire blooms completely under water in a bath and weight them down for a short while. Then they really hydrate! Like in a bath. I haven’t tried it yet but I got it from a good source..

Hi Nicole, your flowers are super amazing!! I was a wedding florist working out of my home for 20 years. In Southern California I would go to Los Angeles flower mart for my fresh flowers. My hydrangeas came from Holland and were very expensive. What I would do was soak the whole flower head onto a big tub of water overnight. The flower heads actually hydrate through the blooms. Try it, it really makes them crunchy fresh. Love ❤️ your
    Vlog!!!

Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.
🕊️💕Live righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏
I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏
Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey Your truth. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. Knowing truth from errors, discernment. 💕
We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 🔥
2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏🔥 🕊️
Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Jesus is worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said.
Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.💖🔥🕊️ 🙏
    Praise God 🙏💖
    Hallelujah Jesus🙏💖 🕊️🔥
In Jesus mighty name 🙏🔥🕊️ 💖

The BEST way to hydrate hydrangeas for success....
    Cut in the morning....cool weather
Place flower heads, head down in a sink full of cool/room temperature water...let soak at least 30 minutes, can be for several hours
Fill a bucket with hot tap water
Recut stem, place stem down in hot water (head up out of water)
Let water cool to room temperature.... overnight is perfect
Place flower stems into fresh bucket of water with floral preservative
Place bucket of flowers directly into cooler to harden up 35 to 40 degrees

It is exciting to watch your videos and see what I will learn from you. I have a question about your Pro Cut sunflowers; how much space did you allow between your seeds? I have grown pro-cut sunflowers for several years but always had to contend with wild domestic rabbits eating them (there is a long story about them ~ Some other time!). This year the rabbit problem is gone. I used my garden seeder and it dropped multiple seeds (4-5) and needed to thin them.

How does alum work on hydrangeas?
I have no idea how it actually works, but the alum keeps the end of the hydrangea stem open so it will take in as much water as possible. Sometimes when hydrangeas are cut, a sticky liquid comes out which blocks the water. Alum eliminates this so the stem stays open.
Nicole, a few years back I picked up flowers for a wedding. The florist recommended two ideas to keep hydrangeas hydrated, (1) she said when we got home, to submerge the heads into water (2) she said to add alum to the vase water (see the above attachment). Love, love you channel!! So looking forward to your nursery remodel (can you believe it, you have a nursery!) 👏

I found that cutting a half inch slice into the stem really made the dif in how long my lace hydrangeas last - a good 7 days - unless they are in 30+deg Celsius temps. I have also recently read that using older flowers will make them last longer so I will try that on the next batch of hot 30deg days which starts this weekend. I like using the lace hydrangeas to prop up the heads of any larger, droopy sunflowers.

Love!! My favorite is watching you make bouquets in real time like this... I know it might seem long and drawn out to you, but I think a lot of us would agree we love it! The thought process is a big part of creating and I learn so much every time I watch you! You should take a poll and see what the people prefer, time lapse vs. real time!! 😘
Also I checked out the hydrangea tips from Farmgirlflowers IG like you suggested and they're awesome! I will try the crushed tip for sure. The things that have worked well so far for me for at least a 10 day vase life is 1. Daily water change 2. Slice one inch up the stem and 3. Using a mature bloom is key! I think she left that tip out. Brand new fresh blooms are very prone to wilt. Try to find one with a brown-ish stem vs. green! I can't believe how well it works, I used to think hydrangeas were the worst!! 😅

Hi Nicole, so recently I saw an example of the hot bath. What I did recently as an experiment and my hydrangeas lasted 6 days in the vase! I have tried it a couple times and 6 days was the longest and there were occasions where 1 started to wilt after like day 2 or 3. Probably sounds crazy but it really worked....So here are the instructions..... 10 seconds really hot water, 10 seconds cold, 10 seconds really hot again and then into their vase with cold water and add a few ice cubes into the vase. Try it and tell me how yours turns out. I seriously couldn't believe it! Oh and one more add is to make sure to of course cut the stem diagonal and right before the treatment. Good Luck!

Love your flowers! I don't know why but I prefer rudbeckia over sunflowers. Just love the double rudbeckia.

    My tips for cutting hydrangeas
Hydrangeas take up water thro their leaves so one thing you can do is:
Dip the whole head in cool water.
    Thing 2:
Alum powder. This can be found in most grocery stores in the spices (it’s a common pickling spice.) Give your hydrangeas a fresh cut and dip them in alum powder to assist the xylem in the stems for better water absorption.
    Thing 3:
Dip your stems in boiling water than let set in really hot water for 20 minutes.

Gooorjuss 😍 hydrangeas make great focal bases to a bouquet where you thread other flowers down thru the hydrangea. Some customers may just love to buy a bunch of hydrangeas without other flowers, I love them on their own. Love love love 🌸🌹🌻🌼

Please share where you got your phlox from. I've bought purple or blue perennial phlox from several different places and I always end up with just more pink :( I have several clients who prefer purple so I need more purple options

I heard with hydrangeas you can submerge the entire blooms completely under water in a bath and weight them down for a short while. Then they really hydrate! Like in a bath. I haven’t tried it yet but I got it from a good source..
